Brilliant, the BEST rag quilt tutorial I've ever seen, & I've seen many many!!! I can't wait to make this, I think I i have enough fabric, except for the batting... Thanks so much!!!
I just found you today when I was looking at some of the other channels I follow. Love this flag quilt, was looking for a gift idea for my brother in law and his wife, this will do the trick! Keep up the good work, good luck on your future ventures. Subscribed and liked!
Beautiful!! You might try putting flannel in the middle. You cut them the same size as your top square. You could use another cotton layer on the back. It will give you a two-sided quilt. Using the flannel in the middle gives you a fluffier rag on top. It also gives you more color choices. Great job
Excellent tutorial, new subscriber. You did such a clear and concise explanation I know that I will be making this quilt. I really enjoyed listening and watching this video , thank you!!
New subscriber..love your quilt. Im going to nake a few for ny patriotic friends. You did a exceptional job explaining thank you for your creation and beautiful work ❤
Love your quilt; your little fur baby looks like my little girl that I lost last year. Beautiful little quilt tester who 100% approve of the comfy quilt.
You’ve been so helpful and it is SO APPRECIATED! Would you mind sharing how much you would price this gorgeous quilt at? I would have NO idea! Thank you so much 💕💕
@@Hiddenhilltophomestead Thanks ! Love this quilt. I’ve only used flannel and just recently replaced the batting with flannel. But I’m going to try using cotton fabric on the top layer next. Thanks again!
I only prewash red fabrics because I find they will sometimes run worse than other colors for some reason. Other than that I just sew everything together and it gets the first wash as a quilt with several color catcher sheets just in case.
I matched the top thread to the front colors (red, white, and blue) and then cream for the bottom bobbin. I used the same bobbin color for the whole quilt.
That is awesome 🥰

Thank you so much 💕💕
I'd do $200 on something like this.
@ Ty! And that’s a bargain because it’s stunning!
QUESTION: is the top fabric flannel or cotton? This is a great quilt. Thanks. 🌺
Top is cotton.. But you could totally do flannel for both sides!
Hello. Love your rag quilt. I'm going to make one. But what I'm wondering could we use 5 inch outside and 4 inch inside?? Please and ty.
You can make the squares what ever size you want as long as the batting is an inch smaller than the front and back pieces.
@Hiddenhilltophomestead thank you. Love your work. 🥰🥰
I would have to use more squares to accommodate size right
Is the fabric -cotton on top layer and flannel on the bottom layer ?
@@pattispencer8503 yep! Cotton top, cotton batting in the middle and cotton flannel on the bottom.

New to sewing. Very understandable. Do you prewash fabric?

Can you use cotton fabric? I’d like to sew up my long term stash quickly
yep you could do cotton on the front and back!
What color thread did you use did you use red white and blue and did you change bobbin threads
I matched the top thread to the front colors (red, white, and blue) and then cream for the bottom bobbin. I used the same bobbin color for the whole quilt.
