One of the few games that took advantage of being a WiiU game and that actually made it feel like you were in a zombie apocalypse, where a single bite spells doom.
If anyone is curious about the 'Good' Ending... It's just your survivor grabbing onto some latch on top of a tower, and being pulled up into a helicopter where a waiting arm grabs you. After that, the bad ending scene with the firebombing will play out. Yeah, it's THAT short of a scene. Soooo... Yeah.
@@spooderlover3512 it makes more sense when talking in person, you might think you had more to say and then just go "so... yeah" when you realise you didnt or if you forgot what you were going to say.
Best ending - You escape to the helicopter after getting the panacea (Collect all John Dee letters) and then London is firebombed. Humanity is saved by a random Londoner wearing jeans, timberland boots, black jacket and white shirt with a red blood across his chest and a huge backpack, modified WiiU, lots of guns, diet coke and pork pies. Good ending - You escape to the helicopter without the panacea (Fail to collect all John Dee letters) and then London is firebombed. Humanity is technically doomed but your character is alive at least. Bad ending - You die while trying to escape. London is firebombed. Your story ends here.
ZombiU is a underrated gem. Yeah, it isn't perfect and there's better survival horror games, but it's very enjoyable and scary game. Also The Day Care Part is creepy asf. It's one of the best moments in game or survival horror.
Bruh the day care part when I first got there I was like nope and left the area and I came back and was like (ahh you need to go back and complete it and I did and made it) it was very disturbing but on my latest run which was 1 or 2 years ago I blast through it and got true ending also with the character you start with at the start of the game.
Me too, remember it being hyped as the best Wii U launch title in some magazines. Then it faded from existence a little after it released. Didn't even know of it's other non WIi U ports until much after the game came out.
Interesting idea with the ending. Reminds me of first 2 Dead Rising games where saving was only possible in set locations, so the longer you went through without saving, the more nerve-wracking it would become and I loved it.
Hoo boy, I remember playing the heck out of ZombiU's Survival Mode after I completed the game the first time. Trying to get all the way to the end without dying was quite the challenge. Especially when you had to be sure you gained enough resources and firepower to clear that very last escape sequence where they throw just about almost every zombie type at you. Out of all of the zombies in the game, the Teleporter Zombie was probably the most stressful to deal with.
Holy shit. Never thought I'd see a Zombi U video in this day and age. It's a difficult game, but once you master how to gather supplies, build up your gun skills, and prepare for every ambush and jumpscare, you'll feel like you're the king of the world once you complete the game with one character. I actually got 12th place in the world leaderboards thanks to a shitload of grinding for weeks (maybe even months) of playing this game. It's now around 20th or even further down, but it was a hell of an accomplishment back then. I also remember the exploit where you could duplicate items (namely ammo and health) and make your experience a whole lot easier. I always imagined the Prepper being Captain Price from Modern Warfare.
That's a really dark bad ending. I like it, as it's not only a character death and the ending, you didn't get what could've been the only possible chance to prevent any further outbreaks, or make humanity more resilient to infection out of London.
Zombie games are a dime a dozen but it's rare to see one keep you feeling so helpless and weak the whole way through. Stuff like Resident Evil makes you a superhero by the end and don't bother dealing with stuff like stress levels or hunger. Actually that might be an interesting premise if it hasn't been done by now; trying to keep a party of survivors united and avoid not only infection, but simply cracking from the pressure and turning on their allies, suiciding or running out on their own (same result). You could have items that help calm people down or a character with skills as a motivational speaker.
The game you want is called This War of Mine, then! If you like sims/resource management, anyway. Maintain a safe house full of survivors with distinct phases for defense and resource collecting, balanced with trying to maintain the sanity of your group. It's an incredibly bleak take on the genre where survival is truly difficult and it's more a test of how long you can survive, but I say that as a good thing!
And if you dont like this war of mine, i reccomend project zomboid, there are no npcs (except if you mod it), it is pretty realistic, scary, and its a game where you can die in every minute, your survivors will die a dozen, and you will have a hard time , thats for sure.
Urgh this game crept the fuck outta me. I'm so bad with horror games, and having to look at your GamePad (and so, get your eyes away from the TV) was too much for me.
Bro my dad got this game on my wii u when I was younger. It always creeped me out just looking at the game icon. So its really intresting seeing what actually happens in the game.
Loved this video. However, as soon as you begin the 'point of no return' at Buckingham Palace, death equals end of game. Just wanted to clear that bit up, otherwise, great work as always.
This was my first Wii U game, and I was absolutly amazed of how good it is, the atmosphere and the vulnerability are amazing, because is true, you are always vulnerable and the lack of sounds and effects can caught you off guard, I manage to get the good ending because luckily the cop zombies while they have the helmet cannot bite you but they can hurt you a lot, AND THERE IS NO PAUSE IN THIS GAME USING THE INVENTORY!, so if you are going to heal, you have to know when and be really fas on it.
8 years ago, i used to watch my father playing the game. After i turned 10, i started playing it myself (i was too scared). With 13 i finished the game. It was important for me to finish the game, i also wanted to finish survivor mode. All the things i noticed, is that the normal mode is just so good. Cuz you know, the more times you die, the more you understand the mission, and you gain more experience.
great game with truly survival vibe(few ammo, and changing character when he die, fight zombified previous character to get back stuff) ,especially the wii u where it was one of the game who used greatly the gamepad, and I consider as an indirect hommage to ubisoft first game ever, Zombi on amstrad cpc.
I remember basically being one of the only people who fucking knew of this game’s existence. I couldn’t find much at all anywhere when I searched about it. I got it as a Christmas gift and loved playing it, though I never got past a certain annoying ass mission. I always wanted some fan theory about the prepper and other characters in the game, I wanted to hear how other people interpreted the lore and what details they caught too. I felt alone when it came to this game, but damn it was nice. I’m still kinda mad about it not being too recognized, I still really think that this game deserves WAY more attention
well it did get enough reception that 3 years after it released, the game re-released on other consoles. As for the Prepper, alot of your questions are lowkey addressed in the game, when you compare some of the letters to what the prepper says.
The main thing I remember from ZombieU was the multiplayer mode, playing an asymmetrical point capture game where one guy is a survivor and the other spawns zombies is incredibly fun. Whenever I won a game it always felt like I had truely out played my opponent, whether by being skilled enough to clear zombies from points or by lining up my zombie spawns in such a way the survivor couldn't keep up with me.
We're getting closer to #100, and we got one of the creepiest games with the creepiest endings right now? I can't imagine what you're keeping from us for that special number...
I remember playing this when i was younger for the wiiu. I died so many times and got better and better and learned from the mistakes i made and i STILL got the bad ending do to being poorly prepped. I saw the game again on the ps4 and i said I'm definitely getting this! And i immediately played it on survival mode with low expectations. But when i got far and made one simple mistake and got wasted it hurt... I got the bad end again and i wasn't even satisfied, i got so upset but i wanted to play it again because i got upset. This game was fantastic for its time and it still is great today.
I was wondering if you would ever cover this game. Probably my favorite on the Wii U. I once found a dead survivor at the end of the secret bunker stairs. Dude had LOTS of ammo for everything and health items. The final siege and push through the roof was fairly easy thanks to these extra shotgun shells.
I know I should write an extensive comment about the video and the subject but, what I can say right now is that I'm having a pretty bad anxiety episode at the moment and this video helped me ease some of it, so I really need to thank you 💕 (kinda odd considering it's a creepy bad endings video with zombies and all but trust me, your videos are a comfort to watch for me haha)
preppers a nice guy and all but he's not really selling me on the "I'M GOOD HATE THE GUY WHO HAS HIS LIFE AT RISK AND *_MIGHT_* HAVE CONTRIBUTED". bet he's the good guy cause that's what gets pulled
I feel as tho that Zombie games need to go back to this style of survival horror gameplay and dark atmosphere. No special zombies or BOWS, no giga op main characters, just you against the apocalypse with what you have in order to survive. That’s what I feel Zombi does extraordinarily well and it makes the experience all the more frightening! The game does such a good job at making you feel uneasy and vulnerable. I feel there needs to be more of that
Your video brought up a good point about the setting. I wondered why I found the setting for Spider-Man far from home final battle so memorable and it’s because I’ve been there a few times, and they captured the feel of the place too. Even the other locations, some I haven’t been too but the film makes it feel familiar as o have been to countries close to them
My biggest issue with this game aside from janky controles was how unrealistically underpowered the weapons were, the fact it was always night, and the shitty flashlight. IRL blows to the head with striking instruments can be leathal with very little force, and forget about guns, a .22 to the head at less than 50 meters from a rifle and it's lights out. Then theres the light. If we assume everything that happens is over the span of one night, sure, but the light source used by the player is abismal.
that prepper guy was full of it, saying that "we were a team" is full of lies, he was using the survivors as a errand boys/girls while he takes all the good stuff for himself when were gone outside, if anyone is just as bad as the zombies, it's him.
Played the PS4 version as my first game on the console and just now noticed what the advantages of each platform has, using the Prepper pad on PS4 has the advantage of staying at the screen but it has a disadvantage during keypad sequences and using the MG turret. While the WiiU version is just the opposite. Now for my gameplay experience. Every sewer zones made me nervous a lot due to how tight and the fact that the zombies would just pop out around the corner or behind, that also includes the Day Care area. Took me around 4-5 survivors to clear the game in one go while nearly dying at the escape sequence with low health.
Pretty realistic zombie game ngl. It's pretty interesting how rather than taking place in the US, as a majority of zombie outbreak games would occur, this one takes place in London. Not only that, with the US, we have access to firearms (making it easy to wipe zombies out). However in the UK, they are kinda scarce mainly being used in law enforcement and military (correct me if I'm wrong on that statement), thus survivors have to use improv weapons such as cricket paddle. Ngl I kinda got 28 days later vibes from this game
the whole prophecy thing reminded me of hellgate london, no technotemplars this time, also what happened in the first ending? did oyu stop existing while the bald manchild who trows a fit because you dont wanna hide with him goes to do the start of the game?
ZombiU has some Dead Rising-Resident Evil mixed vibes to me. Like, lonely survivor in a zombie apocalypse with a safehouse and few proper weapos, like DR, but with the dark, depressing vibes of a serious, po-faced RE game. You get it, right?
I got soft locked because I picked up the doctor knight's eye way before you were supposed to do it, and everything went normal until the last mission, it just wouldn't let me progress I got mad and never touched the game again
Never played Zombi(U) but I can agree that there needs to be more games like it instead of the generic stuff. I also desperately crave zombie games that aren't always set in America. All in all, Zombi is a very good game and hopefully there will be a game like it
So I just gave this game a shot and have been playing it for a while, let me tell you that ending sequence will have you on your toes. I rushed and died however I can’t see myself going back and playing it again for a 5 second clip of getting flown away.
I played this game on the Xbox and to my shock I didn’t die once while playing. It made it even more stressful when I was in the school, I was terrified of dying and it was so scary there too. I should have played the hardcore mode of it but didn’t expect to make it all the way in my first try
Another awesome video and definitely a survival horror game that is quite interesting from what you explained what the fuck was that at the end though git
I'm still a bit confused about the last scene before the credits and actual ending. Was the current survivor character now a Prepper, if that's the case where did the previous guy go? Was it just a quick reveal of who the Prepper was or something else? I had no idea what was going on during that last part.
It’s showing that the prepped was actually in a hidden room next to the starting area. Instead of insisting you, he cowards away in a room right next to you and sends you to dis his work.
Went to meta critics and etc to see why it was so low, half the people were complaining about the game being hard and how its such a bad game because its hard for them rip.
Maybe if this game had another goddam name, probably it would have been more remembered, because lets be real, ZombieU its a name that made many just ignore this game's existence,
Wait, you didnt show the escape ending, right? or did I missed it? And the scene in the safe house is the game telling you that you become another Prepper or what? I didnt get it.
I always assumed it was like a badly inserted loop. Your character becomes Prepper and the game starts again with the new survivor, but devs messed up by letting you continue after that.
I do think this game really worked in most areas, but my only gripe with it was that it was too linear, and that was what really ruined it's motto of "How long will you survive" as well as your survivors having time survived displayed everytime you reload. I just wish that there could have been a mode where you survive as long as possible in all of London.
I remember playing the zombie master mode with my brother one time, i think there were 2 players, the survivor and zombie master, and the zombie master would summon zombies to try to kill the survivor
I remember I was really hyped about this game never got to play it until it got on the pc I think it's fun and the British setting/lore is interesting however you sometimes will get screwed over lol
Zombi is a gem, for once as a British person it gives me the feeling of despair looking at the city in tatters. Now I feel bad for Americans in pretty much every shooter game ever 💀
lol i recently downloaded this game on xbox and it was soo scaryyy. i played the game stoned and i was immediately brought into another world lolol so scary
I absolutely love this game so much. I played survival mode 3 times just because the atmosphere and gameplay were top notch. I died to a stupid propane tank an infected kicked at me in the arena level and to the stupid water mine getting there on my 2nd run. I still kept playing though since it was just so much fun managing resources and dealing with zombies. It was such an awesome payoff when I stormed Buckingham Palace with all the ammo I saved in my 3rd run switching from crossbow and melee only to finally using all of the guns I collected
8:37 Garth Ennis created The Crossed to piss off crazy survivalists such as The Prepper. For anyone interested The Crossed makes The Walking Dead look like The Care Bears.
I love it that it's not just edgy for the sake of being edgy, the Crossed infection has some lore to it and we pretty much learn all about it in that comic with that geologist guy and the smart firefighter Crossed. That eventually the Crossed will become smart and stable enough to turn into a proper society that will replace anyone that isn't infected.
this game was pretty cool but the controls were breaking my finger bones but I soldiered through until it spawned suicide bombers that instant killed me without warning and again when I tried to get my corpse, gave up after that. Basically No More Room in Hell with a campaign and worse gameplay.
Heres a "Fun" fact more like bad fact about the game if you die then close it or shut down the console or computer you're using, the next time you hop on to get your stuff back... The game fucks you over HARD, they just get rid of you're blighter 'ed character basically saying Your shits gone and now you have to restart. This was a reason I quit the game on both the Xbox and PS4. Now that I think about, the quotes when they are talking to you are probably for survival mode since you can only play as one survivor.
Tbh I oddly liked zombi for it's difficulty well because you're Vulnerable (besides dying light)

Do you take suggestions? If so check out the New Face Team ending from The King of Fighters '97. Two members of the Team get killed by the other one, who kill himself afterwards. All consensual by the three of them, to give their god, Orochi, the power to psychically manifest and destroy everything. It's dark and specially for a fighting game. If you need help on getting the lore together from before and after that moment, just ask me. I love KOF

Yeah, i really lile the idea that the game wont pause when using inventory AND force you to look away from the screen.
Made it more realistic when the player dies and then a new character takes their place.
If anyone is curious about the 'Good' Ending...

Wow that's lame

Unrelated but I hate these sentences that end with so yeah, if you have to say something say it don't be weirdly passive aggressive about it

Best ending - You escape to the helicopter after getting the panacea (Collect all John Dee letters) and then London is firebombed. Absolutely agree with you, Kevin!
From a story standpoint, man, every survivor you play as has so much balls of steel and the gall to go in alone as well.
huh i remember hearing about this game a lot (at least in magazines) but then it just sort of vanished from existance completely
Like everything in the Wii U.
Vanished.
It did make it to other consoles but it sucks ass
same
@MrKlassic thats just sad because this was very creative and while i never played it it looked really fun

Death Road to Canada is exactly what you described, but Project Zomboid and This War of Mine are both good

It's the art style, mainly the character design
thank god i played this last night, truly was a great gem to keep with

ZombiU might have a completely Alternate Universe of a Trainline system but damn if it isn't a classic.
Who would win: a guy in a helicopter or a lot of winged bois?
I love the atmosphere and music in this game. Truly one of the few unique games out there. A classic.

However in the UK, they are kinda scarce mainly being used in law enforcement and military (correct me if I'm wrong on that statement), thus survivors have to use improv weapons such as cricket paddle. Ngl I kinda got 28 days later vibes from this game
No police force in the UK have guns. It’s purely in the military.
There were definetly some games that would have been a massive hit. If it wasn't for their initial release on the WiiU
22:27 "Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering kaboom."
the whole prophecy thing reminded me of hellgate london, no technotemplars this time, also what happened in the first ending? did oyu stop existing while the bald manchild who trows a fit because you dont wanna hide with him goes to do the start of the game?
never seen this game (though i think i heard of it once) as im not a fan of horror games
but oh god it looks terrifying for sure
seems underrated
Sadly it is underrated as it was a flop financially on release.
13:35 imagine shooting his eye by accident xD
The final stretch wors great with Hunk's theme from resident evil 2 remake
Still lost atop the tower tho
ZombiU is surprisingly good!
😃
ZombiU has some Dead Rising-Resident Evil mixed vibes to me. Like, lonely survivor in a zombie apocalypse with a safehouse and few proper weapos, like DR, but with the dark, depressing vibes of a serious, po-faced RE game. You get it, right?
I missed these videos. Thank you very much
This is such a underrated zombie game with a unique gimmick of using the wii u.
I got soft locked because I picked up the doctor knight's eye way before you were supposed to do it, and everything went normal until the last mission, it just wouldn't let me progress I got mad and never touched the game again
If you want a one bite realistic zombie game, definitely try Project Zomboid. Just dropped its massive MP update too
Thanks to this vid im going to start playing it again. Thanks :D
Turns out The Ravens were being led by Senior Senior Junior. He got the location right for once.
I played this game on the Xbox and to my shock I didn’t die once while playing. It made it even more stressful when I was in the school, I was terrified of dying and it was so scary there too. I should have played the hardcore mode of it but didn’t expect to make it all the way in my first try
Another awesome video and definitely a survival horror game that is quite interesting from what you explained
what the fuck was that at the end though git
Man i loved that game. To me biggest challenge was that damned arena.
I'm still a bit confused about the last scene before the credits and actual ending. Was the current survivor character now a Prepper, if that's the case where did the previous guy go? Was it just a quick reveal of who the Prepper was or something else? I had no idea what was going on during that last part.
Same Prepper again I believe.
It’s showing that the prepped was actually in a hidden room next to the starting area. Instead of insisting you, he cowards away in a room right next to you and sends you to dis his work.
The build up was cool, wish they gave a better payoff with the final cutscene.
Most underrated game ever
Went to meta critics and etc to see why it was so low, half the people were complaining about the game being hard and how its such a bad game because its hard for them rip.
It doesn’t explain how to play or where to go
The scenario is much more terrifiying if you actually live in London like me.
Maybe if this game had another goddam name, probably it would have been more remembered, because lets be real, ZombieU its a name that made many just ignore this game's existence,
You're right, ZombiU sounds like a cheap game, but oh boy
I think the one who came up for the name should be fired,.... nevermind this was years ago.
ZombiU is so called because it's a sequel to Zombi. (In the same sense Final Fantasy II is a sequel to Final Fantasy)
Zombi is just French for zombie.
@@KopperNeoman “zombi” is also it’s name on other consoles

Well isn’t that a bit ironic? RAVENS end up screwing over the whole evacuation.
Great upload!
why did i watch this in HD why why why
I remember I was really hyped about this game never got to play it until it got on the pc I think it's fun and the British setting/lore is interesting however you sometimes will get screwed over lol
Happy Halloween
Hey, You should try Project Zomboid with games that can end in one bite!
Legit outside of bayonetta 2 and a select few wiiu games this game was the only reason to get a wiiu
I have a physical copy of this and don’t remember how the hell i got it
I absolutely love this game so much.
You should try Project Zomboid, if you get bitten, that's it, plus, its a open world sandbox

Garth Ennis created The Crossed to piss off crazy survivalists such as The Prepper. For anyone interested The Crossed makes The Walking Dead look like The Care Bears.
Man crossed can get it neat too kuch territory for me but i do like the original run
@@matthewmelilo3680 yeah "kuch" territory is exactly the point of The Crossed.
I'm guessing "John" is shorthand for "Johnson" and that the "D" in "Dee" stands for "Dirtbag". Also, Prepper is totally taking the smeg.
3:42 Project zomboid on steam One bite and sometimes even a simple scratch Is a death sentence
what was the song/ sound in the very very beginning? its killing me i feel like ive heard it, is it from this game?
This game was released on things other than the wiiU?
I never played it(or owned the U) but even I thought It was just a U game.
British zombie be like : Oi you want some ztea?
Tbh I oddly liked zombi for it's difficulty well because you're
Vulnerable (besides dying light)
Do you take suggestions? If so check out the New Face Team ending from The King of Fighters '97. Two members of the Team get killed by the other one, who kill himself afterwards. All consensual by the three of them, to give their god, Orochi, the power to psychically manifest and destroy everything. It's dark and specially for a fighting game.
If you need help on getting the lore together from before and after that moment, just ask me. I love KOF
Is there a way I could get this on Xbox? Asking for a friend
Far as I'm aware it's on Xbox one and PS4
got to the palace and fucking flipped shit when i threw a nade and killed myself
I always wanted to play this game, but I’m not a fan of horror.
why didnt they make another sequel?
Because it was on a Wii u and didn't sell well
