      An addendum to your water one, with a little prep you can actually get more out of it. Look at the small corked "potion bottles" that a lot of places sell for crafting purposes, several are the perfect size for several powdered drinks that you can add to your bottle during the day. For a summer one, having something like gatorade or similar available to add to things while it still looks appropriate for things is a great thing in the middle of summer or in more action oriented points for making sure that you can keep going.

    "If you have to think about it, it's not recent enough." God damn, I'm gonna use that at my events. Our players, while good at looking after one another, are notoriously bad at taking care of themselves. They need to be told regularly to go fucking drink more water.

    There must be a HUGE difference between your larp event and mine, my phone dosn't die during 3 days of larp BUT it's getting dark, during the night. When the event starts at 8pm on friday it's dark, during the night - it's dark, at saturday during the nightwatch - it's dark, the same day during the night - it's dark. When all comes to a final confrontation on sunday - it's dark! I don't don't need a phone charger, but 30 players dressed in black, during the night, walking through the forest, fighting 30 badguys dressed in black - they need LIGHT.

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  4 года назад

      That's fair. I tend to go to two different style of events- large fest systems which do have lighting at night and smaller games that do not. At my smaller games, very few people bring bright sources of light because they cause glare. It's hard for eyes to adjust from bright light to darkness quickly, and so we keep any lights we have very dim to maintain our night vision. And those tend to last all weekend. But they are not really necessary for full expeditions into the woods, because light tends to attract attention when one is trying to be stealthy.

    (I apologize if you actually do act professionally. I don’t really know you.)

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  4 года назад +8

      In honest truth I would not consider myself an actress. I can play a variety of characters and enjoy doing so, however the difference between LARP and acting is the audience aspect. I like to interact as a character, as opposed to being on a stage and performing.

    • @thelilartzy
      @thelilartzy 2 года назад

      Have you tried improv? I heard it’s similar to larp! And I’m a actress and can agree it’s very fun to how I would imagine a larp to go.

  • @skycrafter2042

    chargers- idk why you would need that i dont use my phone at larp like at all only at night before bed to mark the time and see if i got a call and when i leave after the larp its still at least half way full

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  3 года назад +1

      That's fair. Not everyone needs to be reached at all times and can just switch their phone off. But many of us need to keep in touch with the outside world because of work/caring responsibilities/ personal reasons, so in that case a good charger is always helpful to have ^_^

    If I'm staying at the event for a week, what feminine hygiene products could you recommend?

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  3 года назад +1

      Forgive me for taking so long to answer this but I had to really think about it. I'm sorry if I've misunderstood your question
      I don't see any reason to deviate too much from whatever products you are currently using if they don't leak and work well for you. If you are going to be combat heavy, it might be an idea to get something extra absorbent as exercise can increase flow.
      What I would advise is see what hygiene facilities are available and how they can be used. Some portaloos allow for sanitary products to be disposed in them, but do check first.
      As you are going for a week, it might be an idea to take a few provisions for more showers. A combination of period plus long battles may make you feel more in need of a wash than normal.

    • @mikachan365
      @mikachan365 3 года назад +1

      @@OurAdventuringParty yeah you got what I meant 😊 like I'm planning to go to Bicolline in Quebec when everything opens up again and so I'm not 100%what their facilities are like. I think my main concern was if I needed to try to stay close to the environmentally friendly ones. Just because I'm not sure about the facilities for feminine hygiene products at events like Bicolline. Like if they have a portaloo or a hole in the ground😂 people say that we'd wash in the river so that got me concerned about this type of thing.

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  3 года назад +2

      Bicolline is a permenant site so I expect they have permenant facilities, with proper toilet blocks and showers. I know you can bathe in the river, but I'm pretty confident it's not the only option. You can check their website or try the Bicolline page on Reddit if you want more info. I've never been so I can't say for certain their preferences.

    Larp rent just throw a canvas thingy over a regular one .. :3

    • @OurAdventuringParty
      @OurAdventuringParty  2 года назад +1

      I mean you can, but that can cause some problems. For instance canvas can get quite heavy when wet, and if your tent poles are not designed to carry that extra weight, they could collapse or even break. So if you are like me and in a country where it rains alot, having a canvas tent that has poles to support its own weight or a waterproof tent that may not look very in-character but deals well in the wet weather is much more reliable.
