You mentioned catnip is also called catmint. But they are actually 2 different plants. Same mint family and very similar in appearance but different.
I found 2 of the feral cats we let stay around rolling in a pile of this after we mowed I thought it was mint, mint fam def with square stem. Smelled minty with white flowers. Thanks for sharing. I will now keep these 2 clumps I found for the cats and not mow them again :)

It grows in my yard and is perennial,,so I've been calling it Wildmnt..Is it the same thing ? Shure looks the same.. Bees like it, and makes a good hand wipe,,Or fill an old sock with the flowers to repel Mice in storage closet or cars..

You're right, there are a few similar species, and many members of the mint family that look like catnip. I would use a field guide to identify what you have. Here's a list of wild mints that grow in Minnesota: www.minnesotawildflowers.info/search?family=Lamiaceae&wh. You'll probably want to find a field guide for your region, though. Good luck!
So can I use neem oil on catnip plant to fix a spider mite problem? Will it be safe for my cat to ingest after I harvest?

I usually see them around 2 feet tall, though they can grow up to 4 feet.
If I dry the flower would give seeds too? Or I have to wait to dry natural in the plant ? Thanks please reply 🙏.
If you're trying to get seeds, I would recommend waiting for seeds to form on the plant (which will be after it flowers)
Tie a small brown bag around it so the tiny seeds are easy to collect from the bloom
I lost one of my cats in January 2021. It was a devastating loss as we really thought he beat his illness, FIP, which the vet said was rare but Grim had been responding very well to treatment. I buried in his favourite spot in the garden and got some catnip seeds which I scattered over and around his resting place. There is one plant in particular that grew very well and it's still going to this day after over a year. Is this normal? I thought they die after flowering. This plant flowered twice, got "dry" dead leaves then new little buds start again. The base of the plant is now getting woody. Isn't that odd?
Catnip is a perennial, meaning it comes back year after year

So I have the leaves figured out, but what do I do with the flowers? Can I use those too? And if so should I keep them separate, or are usage wise are the leaves and the flowers about the same?
I like using the leaves and flowers together for making tea. I use the flowering tops, so I pick off the flowers and first 3 or 4 pairs of leaves growing off the top of the stem. I've also used the leaves on their own before but never the flowers... I think they would be too mild on their own, but you could try experimenting with it!

So catnip is pretty useless cause I pick the tops of at least 5 peppermint branches for 1 cup of mint tea with honey. Anything that has a much milder taste than peppermint is pretty much no taste for me. LOL
I thought the plant I had been watering this whole time was a tomato plant and it turns out that its cat nip... How it got there I have no idea but yet there it is in my garden thriving...
