    //Planet Zoo//
    In Planet Zoo you are the Zoo Manager. Create underwater Viewing Galleries, develop intricate Chimpanzee climbing frames or house a majestic Bengal Tiger. You also need to make sure your animals stay healthy, have a comfy shelter and are not too annoyed by your guests. Speaking of which, you will need restaurants and other facilities to keep them happy too.
    If you succeed, you will be granted access to the most impressive animals of this planet, such as the Giant Panda, a fluffly small red panda, the scary Komodo dragon or the bulky Hippo.
    You can also build several habitats, Domes, safari rides or walk-in habitats that provide the best view onto your animals.

    You nailed it! Two things:
    1. Alligators are tiny, so I would only use female crocs.
    2. I’d add flamingos. I know you said it wouldn’t be realistic, but in reality, the alligators do not care about them, and will let them be!

      Nah Alligators get huge, only a shorter than the average C. porosus by a foot or two. Its just that there was kinda a mass exodus of every crocodilian besides small caimans during the 20th century for leather, and populations are still recovering from that, so max size ones are very rare.

    • @jamesrehan9969
      @jamesrehan9969 3 года назад

      Nathan Everard yes, but both are still MUCH smaller then saltwater crocs.

      Alligators? tiny? lol. Alligators can grow up to 15ft and weigh up to 500 pounds.
      People who think they need to eat them just hunt the big ones.

    You nailed the Florida swamp look. It needs some insect ambiance speakers for maximum effect. I could just about hear them anyway, even watching the timelapse. The flamingos would totally be a good substitute for the cranes you'd typically see everywhere. I say go for it. It would also be a good place for a frog/lizard exhibit. That viewing platform needs some signage, though. National parks love their sign boards.

    I've never been to the Everglades, but I've been on similar swamp tours in Louisiana and you nailed it. You should definitely add turtles if you can and flamingos. You should also extend the mangrove tunnel a bit, it seemed really realistic.

    Well done! This is fantastic! I live in Orlando, and I’ve been to dozens of these kind of places. You nailed it. As it is, I think it’s great, but if you wanted to keep changing things, look up DeLeon Springs. It’s a “park” in Florida. They have boat tours in Everglades, they have walking path through them, you can rent canoes and kayaks, they have a natural spring you can swim in(which is FREEZING cold) that feeds into the glades, and they have this awesome historic restaurant; it’s a cook your own pancake restaurant. Every table has a flat top grill on it; the restaurant brings you jugs filled with their homemade pancake batter and whatever toppings you order and you make the make them fresh at the table. It’s the best pancakes I’ve ever had. And it’s such a beautiful area to walk around and kayak on. I think it would be good inspiration for you. But, like I said, what you have created is spot on and brilliant, and is great as it is as well.

    I live in South Florida right by the Everglades, and you freaking nailed it, man! Definitely one of my favorite builds. You could use the Formosan black bear and a melanistic jaguar to represent FL black bears and FL panthers or even pangolins to represent armadillos. Never seen a flamingo here, though. Great Job, Rudi!

    I've lived in Florida most of my life born here actually, one thing you should definitely add is air conditioning units to those buildings. Florida wouldn't be nearly so populated if a.c. had never been invented lol. Also those dead standing trees would be a good place to build egret nests, we could pretend that they use them at least. Other animals you would actually see here could be a type of black bear and also cougars also. Don't know if this is helpful but it looks really awesome already keep up the good work!!

    For the characterization you can use some 1920 florida vibes, and maybe build an abandoned shack in the middle of the swamp. I think it's kind of a "disney theme park" move and can result not so realistic, but it might work

    This looks amazing and really accurate but one of the things you should add in is a smaller fence separating the area where people will be at because in Florida alligators are famous for trying to get into areas there not supposed to so a lot of places have smaller fences you can look over but the alligators can't get over. Also alligators can climb chain link fences and that is why people have chain link domes over their pools because if it was just a chain link fence they would climb it and get in your pool

    I recently moved out of south Florida and this made me nostalgic for it, so I'd say you nailed it! I remember going on a field trip to the everglades and they used a similar setting to your recreation area as a place to educate us on the Seminole Tribe who have historically lived in the area. I'm not sure if you modeled your shelter on a Chickee intentionally but it's a cool detail and a nod to the history of the area!

    I'm from South Florida, I grew up in and around the everglades. I've been on a bunch of sawgrass everglades boat rides. You NAILED the buildings bro. Absolutely killed it. Vegetation-wise you're missing the sawgrass but I'm not sure if they even have it so for what you (assuming) had available, this is awesome! When that first building was coming into shape and you were talking about the "standard" or "classic" whatever word it was, wetlands/Florida/US buildings it actually made me miss SoFlo X'D

    That ending part where you looked out towards the tree made me think you should add an Americana style dinner sign or something to the build, to match the signposting the other areas have:
    pagoda=Japan, pyramid=Egypt, snowtiped mountain=Nepal...
    The more theme-parkish vibe makes it feel like each area should have its own, dare I say, weenie?

    I’ve only done the boat tour in New Orleans but this is so amazing and realistic! I would just make sure you add in some Spanish moss or lichen hanging down over the river in the mangrove section, that would really give it that alligator swamp vibe 👌 and maybe making some of the bare banks a bit muddier right near the river where the alligators would walk in and out of the water. I love the idea of adding flamingos in here for some flashes of colour, would look incredible.

    Maybe for the flamingos you can make it two separate habitats, like the area where the gators hang out can be the flamingo’s main area with the food and everything, and use the underside of the reeds for a barrier to make an illusion it’s one habitat.

    • @RudiRennkamel
      @RudiRennkamel  4 года назад +1

      True but idk how to deal with the gates then. So I really have to look into this

    • @thegeck5831
      @thegeck5831 4 года назад

      I saw that the chainlink fence by the station is in open grass, so that could be the alligators. As I said, use the murky grass to separate the species, and use the existing gate for the flamingos. Also, another suggestion is to add on behind the countries for more countries that are close or similar. For example, have Kenya behind Egypt and more states behind the Everglades, since I also saw a path going behind the areas, and that could be used to incorporate it.

    But I can say that i looks really good.
    Personally i would add maybe gahrials and Nile monitors just give it some more live and size different.
    Definitely would add flamingos.
    If we ever get some water dwelling turtles they cut go in there.
    I know you used Nile monitors in the Egyptian part but whi says that you can't have the animals more than one place 😉😉

    Flamingos would add a bit more life to the tour, even if it might not be all that realistic (I don't know much about Florida wildlife though). Hopefully they play nice with all the vegetation!
    But, man, the river tours always make me think of otters. It would be amazing if otters were in the game... Just imagine rounding a curve in the river and spotting a family of them just chilling in the water... to cute.

    So with space limitations, that means South America, Europe, & Australia are super underrepresented (let alone Antarctica & the oceans). I can expect a few of those being left out because there's nothing in game for them, but I will be curious to see how you represent the world as best as possible...
    I do like that to save a little space, you extended the American section back via the transport system. You could maybe do the same thing with another country, and just squash it's market area into a much smaller space, but idk.

    For me you need a lot of the Spanish moss. It’s all over Florida Other than that it’s a stunning build again. Also the mangrove tunnel could be longer, it’s really great section and with the moss hanging from the trees would look so good. Also I really love the boathouse and sorry but your water lilies are a bit high

    The female crocodiles are smaller than the males which makes sense because alligators are-smaller than crocodiles

    Alright, there are a few things you need to add to make it perfect.
    1. Florida needs to be flat. Like Denmark, but more flat. Any hump of ground is largely man-made or Walt Disney Magic.
    2. Our buildings in Florida are designed to be destroyed by Hurricanes.
    3. Add a few obnoxious buildings by invasive land developers, such as gas stations and apartment homes.
    4. Need a lot more tall Southern Pine Trees and invasive Australian Melaleuca Trees. You can throw in some Maple trees here and there as Florida has a few native species of them.
    5. There is an air based moss we call "Spanish Moss" that hangs on trees.
    6. Florida likes to utilize Spanish Revival Architecture in some areas. Especially the more wealthy neighborhoods.
    7. The Florida Panther is going extinct, but its being saved (-ish) by introducing panthers from Texas.
    8. Drop in some invasive Burmese Pythons to eat the alligators. Oh, and some iguanas and nile monitors too.
    9. Florida has a boar problem thanks to the Spanish introducing them.
    10. Throw in some Macaque that have escaped zoos due to Hurricanes destroying bad infrastructure. Look up Silver Springs Monkeys.
    11. This is outside of the Everglades, but you can add 16th-18th century Spanish historic buildings using a limestone material called "Cocina". Look up St. Augustine and Castillo de San Marcos.
    12. Florida is well known for being a land of golf courses and old people. Add an abundant amount of golf carts. Park staff like to use golf carts instead of jeeps to get to places.
    13. Southern Florida does have a Safari if you want to look it up.
    14. Add Palmetto bushes. That is a genuine Florida look.
    15. Florida gets really lush and congested in vegetation during Summer. Our Autumn starts in the late Winter season, and rotates into a cool Spring.

    I would of just put female crocodiles instead of the males as they are far to large for alligators while the game or there will be a females are closer to the alligators true size
