Its time for some nocturnal animals in yosemite valley zoo. Today we already finish up the building! Can´t wait to make more stuff =)

In Planet Zoo you are the Zoo Manager. Create underwater Viewing Galleries, develop intricate Chimpanzee climbing frames or house a majestic Bengal Tiger. You also need to make sure your animals stay healthy, have a comfy shelter and are not too annoyed by your guests. Speaking of which, you will need restaurants and other facilities to keep them happy too.
If you succeed, you will be granted access to the most impressive animals of this planet, such as the Giant Panda, a fluffly small red panda, the scary Komodo dragon or the bulky Hippo.
You can also build several habitats, Domes, safari rides or walk-in habitats that provide the best view onto your animals.

I totally get you with the whole terrarium thing, like, frontier; you have a game where the animals need to be as happy and not stressed as possible, but tarantulas, for example, would be VERY stressed in such a large habitat. I just feel they could've made a lot more research and spent more time with it.
I mean they needed to find a common ground. but just...maybe a bit more versatile one
And at the same time: I want to build my own iguana habitat! They're large enough to put in a smaller regular enclosure

This is beautiful! I've lived in the Mojave Desert all my life and so many people seem to ignore or neglect desert habitats or scenery, because at first glance, the desert climate seems very open and bare. But there's so much beauty here. Desert sunsets are nothing short of breathtaking, and summer desert nights leave you with a serene, almost wistful kind of feeling. And you certainly captured the essence of that here, even with the game limitations with exhibit animals. Gorgeous build!

I am from total greenery in MS. We have so much rain, even in the dead of winter everything is green. Yet, I love desert landscapes, foliage and find it challenging in a fun way to space out foliage and create scenery with terrain coloring and rocks. Its is like becoming one with the earth and using a small hill instead of a tree can give an area a great look. I am trying to create a rocky, sand type foliage area that if successful, I will share on steam.

Yeah, so do I! But I never hear foreigners talk about it. Did you know that they started rebuilding their own zoo in planet zoo? It's really cool!
I feel like an aquarium DLC would be the perfect opportunity for Frontier to add to the exhibit animal's. For example they could add fish tanks that are different shapes/sizes, but then also allow you to use them for exhibit animals.
ArkhamWayne good idea. But sadly I doubt frontier can do habitats for whales and sharks, but fish yes.

@@hyenapodcast6953 Whales, 100% no, and that’s a good thing. Whales and other similar animals in captivity isn’t good at all, because of the amount of water they’d need to be properly happy. Sharks on the other hand.. as long as they are small, it would be fine. But definitely hard to work with in a game like this. I think exhibit aquariums would be great, along with something like a sea cow, or possibly dolphins, turtles (not sea turtles, as they are not a zoo animal at all.) and stuff like that.
I’d love the see small rodents in exhibits, but only if they make different sized exhibits.
I really love the idea of an bigger terrarium, I hope Frontier makes more options for the community to customize and play around more with the terrariums, amazing work btw and love the lightning around the building as well
That moon thing is so cool! I get discouraged so fast with Planet Zoo and find myself going back to other games like The Sims 4 and Civ 6 but your vids inspire me to keep trying with my zoos 😭❤

I'd honestly not even mind the exhibit animals if the box wasn't so big and ugly. I'd even be fine with the objects inside being limited if we had some that weren't giant boxes. What zoo on this planet has a 4x4 m cube for spiders or cockroaches? It looks ludicrous for every animal but the iguanas and arguably the larger snakes.
i think night house sounds way better than nocturnal house, & it still gets the point across. :p

Love the Night House. You are so talented. I agree about the exhibits. Every zoo I've been to uses very small exhibits for animals like spiders, scorpions, etc. It would be fun to be able to embed small ones into walls or scenery and still have the same requirements as the big ones. Maybe that's too complicated for the game engine, but much more realistic.
Thanks to you and all the RUclipsrs that are continuing to post vids. It helps to take the mind off more serious concerns and provides needed entertainment. In my case it helps me unwind after working in a long term care facility. No cases of Covid-19 in my workplace yet, but more cases are showng up in James City County and Virginia everyday. So I know it's just a matter of time. Meanwhile I'll just enjoy watching your creativity on display.
I love the exhibits but a lot of that love comes from the fact I like making exhibit only zoos in the arctic. I find the idea of someone braving the frozen north to see one lizard in a box hilarious.
This turned out very nice and realistic.

Nice video. I'm going to slowly start building my 1st sandbox zoo tomorrow. And I've slowly started building a new sandbox park for Planet Coaster too. It takes a long time to build a park and zoo. But it's worth it. NZ is Lv4 (highest)COVID-19 alert probably for the next 2 weeks. I work for local government and am on discretionary leave and schools have been closed since Tuesday last week. We can still go outside to get some fresh air/exercise or supermarket necessities. Good thing about my suburb is it has a beach, and park 15 mins walk from me and 8 minute walk to the supermarket.
I love the night house! I think I like the sound of night house better, nocturnal house would just give it a scientifically sounding/correct name 😜
Looks great! Maybe try the arctic string lights for floor light, they don't really cast light so much as glow.
They technically already have the mechanics in the game to have dark areas during the day with the terrain tools, but it's really too chunky for making small buildings like this. If they did a blackout panel that you could place and the game would read as having heavy terrain density, it could work out really well.

Each night house looks better and better. I made a half covered half aardvark half pangolin exhibit..... Tear drop shaped because I hate myself. It sure functions.

For your next movie enclosure you should do a Jurassic Park paddock. Like the tyrannosaur enclosure from the first film. Also love the design of these enclosures. They're small but are full of interesting decor.

Talking about jobs.. Unfortunately I cannot work at home because I am a paramedic.(Sanitäter;) I'm naturally deeply relaxed and I'm not afraid of the virus. !BUT! people are just crazy right now. everyone goes nuts. Hard times to work these days

I absolutely LOVE your ceiling work and all the black, the whole construction where you made it look like the lamps are hanging from metal frame work, so good. It also makes it look very real and somewhat like a night sky which I also find really cool! (Your fake terrarium lamps are practically the same, so well done). Also never even thought of hiding the benches beneath plaster, great idea, hides the ugly seating and people will sit on something that blends into the building so much better 😁 Another thing I LOVE is your outside stone work and the lighting you used on it, so much texture 😍 As far as Corona I am lucky to work for an IT firm, I literally grabbed my laptop and mobile phone on Monday, drove home and have worked from here since then. I can call via a mobile app which is connected to our VoIP system, so it's like being at work. And we use Microsoft Teams, so I can literally videoconference with any and all of my colleagues whenever I need to and even share my screen and work together and such. Basically means 95% of the work I normally do can be done from home. My only problem is my bf is working from home too, and he is an IT manager for his own company and he is coordinating their working from home and he is on the phone NON STOP - which is driving me nuts 😂😂😂 Oh well. Let's hope this crisis can be turned around, my frustration right now is clearly insignificant compared to what is going on outside my house 🙄 Thanks for the video Rudi, great build, I LOOOOOVE it! And I am so going to steal some of your ideas in this 😋
I think Planet Zoo as a whole can be summed up by what you said about the exhibits, Frontier nailed the details but forgot the basics, they learned what the Planet player base wanted with Planet Coaster and yet nothing as basic as kerbs made it into PlanZoo.

Most often people visit zoos during the day, so night house title would intrigue visitors, especially in hot temperature locales.
First of all....would love to mix minds on a live stream( just hope i am able to be there ).....second...the germans might be behind still on the digital progress...but look at how far they have come the last 5 years...give it some time (as a tuber i understand why you think the growth seems too slow)...nice vid...thanks for sharing!....maybe "nocturnal animals" matches better seeing both words are about equal size!

You really hit a touchy spot for me here. In the US, we were doing the work from home thing when you released this video until beginning/mid May. My profession can easily be done 80-90% at home due to being so digital HOWEVER, we have a managing partner who firmly believes that you can not work from home. I don't know if this is because he can't work from home so he assumes no one can or if he just flat out doesn't trust his employees. Either way, it's going to drive people away and it's going to hurt the company that he's a part owner of. This whole pandemic has created a huge rift in the company. So, since Mid May, everyone has been expected to work in the office unless there are special circumstances that are pre-approved. If for any reason you can't come into the office, you are required to use your vacation time. Can you tell I'm salty?

Back to the video: The exibits could serve as basic for aquariums and aviaries. But for this they would have to be a bit more dinamic and customizable in shape and size.

Rudi Rennkamel I’m currently building a modern Indonesian-ish zoo and I’m looking at a lot of the buildings from koali zoo but I just don’t know how y’all do it I’ll give it my best shot and we’ll see what the outcome is
Love this! The nocturnal houses were my favorite when going to zoos as a kid!
My work can be transferred to home, however my company is requiring me to continue to go to work until further notice. I can stay home if more comfortable, but this is without pay. As for the state, Minnesota continues to shut things down every day. Schools, bars and restaurants, salons, and retailers are opening later and closing earlier.

I live in America (western NY state) I still have to work... I work at a pet store and we are considered an essential business. We've reduced hours and are heavily promoting curbside pick up of products, and we are sanitizing everything every hour. I also work as a substitute teacher occasionally but schools are closed and I don't get any compensation for that since it's per diem work. So yeah my current financial situation isn't sustainable.

I have a hard time liking my own zoo. It mainly is cause i cant look at a flat zoo but i cant landscape... Is there a way to download a premade zoo with not a flat base?
I too struggled with terrain aspects. I make myself use it. My latest conquest is a path that is smooth that lowers into a giant panda habitat view. I just keep with, lower and smoothing until it was right.

I'm effectively laid off until further notice, I work in a tailoring shop and the entire shopping center where we're located is shuttering its doors for the time being. Its an independent, small business so no we cant afford to give paid leave or bonuses, especially considering how few clients we had in the days leading up to today. Not sure what I'm going to do with myself TBH. I've got a decent nest egg but if things stretch out beyond a month i might be in trouble....
I'm wondering how many people are in this same boat right now.
I really hope that gouvernments understand how hard it is for people and make sure financial help is guaranteed

They should have different terrarium ( exhibit) sizes. For example small sized terrariums can have small amphibians, small lizards, arachnids, and insects. Medium sized terrariums should be for medium sized lizards,large amphibians, small turtles, and snakes. And large terrariums should be the regular ones we have and should be for large lizards, medium and large turtles, terrarium tortoises, large snakes, and maybe a Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman or Dwarf Crocodile.
Also I would want the Animals to actually move and maybe even a new staff that takes out a terrarium animal for showcase and teaches guests about it, for example a teaching staff takes out a terrarium animal and shows it to people while taking about the animal, maybe the staff will have the ability to let guests hold the terrarium animals (of course only harmless animals like some arachnids, non poisonous amphibians, non venomous or aggressive reptiles, and harmless insects)

Ich bin zuhause, auf Abruf, verdiene nur Geld auf Abruf, wenn das länger geht werde ich gekündigt da sich mein Chef es nicht lange leisten kann Gehälter (Auch Kurzarbeitergeld) aus zu zahlen ohne Einnahmen im Laden :C Der geplante Urlaub Anfang April um das Einjährige mit meiner Freundin zu verbringen wird wohl auch nichts da ich zur Risikogruppe gehöre und die 700km Fahrt dementsprechend fahrlässig wäre. So lange mein Chef also nicht anruft und sagt er braucht mich, bin ich zuhause mit sehr viel Zeit. Allerdings hab ich genug zu tun xD Da ich nebenher noch als Auftragskünstlerin arbeite und auch Ende November auf die Comic Con germany gehe mit einem Stand (vorausgesetzt sie wird nicht abgesagt) und auch eine 90qm Wohnung zu renovieren habe so wie ne Menge Games die ich mal zocken sollte wenn ich sie schon gekauft habe (Z.b. monster Hunter generation ultimate auf der switch oder die etwa 50 steam games die es sich auf meinem pile of shame gemütlich machen) wird mir bestimmt nicht langweilig xD
Ich wäre wirklich daran interessiert eine Zoo tour zu haben! :D Alles mal im großen und ganzen zu sehen und gerade bei den Vivarien kann ich dich vollkommen verstehen, das Spiel ist so bedacht darauf das die Tiere gut gehalten werden und bei den Vivarien ist es komplett egal? Das Taranteln z.B. kleine Flächen brauchen ist ja weithin bekannt, in so großen Vivarien wären sie durchgehend gestresst! :/

Momentan ist es zwar alles andere als schön oder einfach, aber so lange mein Dad und/oder ich nicht am Virus sterben werden auch wieder bessere Zeiten kommen xD Ich hab zum Glück meine Freunde die ebenfalls alle Gamer sind und so treffen wir uns jeden Tag auf unserem Discord Server und zocken zusammen :) Das ist eine schöne Ablenkung zu dem ganzen Negativen was momentan überall passiert :)
