    Good review! I also was able to look at these in real world applications for a while. My conclusion is constant with yours in that the vortex have better glass and have a few more options available. That being said a person needs to determine if $550 more is worth the upgrade in glass quality as it’s nearly 35% more. I do think either will suffice in our prs competitions. The optic quality is good for their price point but i think it’s important to note that in comparison to a standard Bino it would be comparable to a low to mid grade glass in which neither are all that great.

    Thank you for your great and simple brake down of these two(2) great binoculars. I myself have been waiting for, the Vortex Fury HD 5000 AB to come back in stock at Kenzie's Optics. Your You/Tube showed them both with out any bias, with the exception of your tee-shirt.LOL
    Not being able to hold them both and range out in the open fields is one of the things which made choosing one over the other very difficult.
    Thank you for allowing the average person while at the range or even out on the streets the opportunity to give their own personal opinions. You've made my decision quite simple.
    I will be waiting for Kenzie to reply to my e-mail about the arrival of the Vortex Fury HD 5000 AB.

      Have a set of Sigs, I would say if you can afford the Fury's, buy them. I hunt in the west and I also hunt long range. One thing I have been very disappointed with regarding the Sigs is, they fog up and in cold weather and snowing conditions they become useless! If you're shooting in weather conditions that aren't wintery, snow, below 32 degrees, the Sigs are great.

The Viper looks great till you look through the RAZR, but perfectly functional. I use my Kestrel too much for recording environmentals when doing load development - but I see the appeal of having great glass and one piece of equipment if you didnt have a ballistic computer or are used to using a mobile phone. • @tylerorth2870
      @tylerorth2870 3 года назад

      @@sf2189 I think the bdx glass quality is on par with 200-300 standard Bino glass. But really that’s what your paying for. $400-450 range finder and $300 Bino gets you to the ~cost of the bdx. Step up to the $400-$500 Bino quality in the fury and that’s what you get with the vortex range finding Bino offering. Neither of these are quality glass by any stretch of the imagination but both do their intended purpose exceptionally well. Would I want to be using these for glassing out west, hell no, but will they be a great rangefinder and much better than a standard handheld RF.

I don't know which one yet, but, it will be a year before I am willing to afford something as nice as either of these two models you have showcased, even the lessor SIG units are a bit out of reach for me at this time, maybe in about 8 months the prices of this newer technology will come down, by the time I am ready to bust the credit card again.... Well put together video, as always... I think, this whole campaign for somebody like me who is broke, will take about 3 to 4 years to build up all the toys and tools desired to do PRS efficiently. A few things that completely remove the value from this comparison. 1. It is a VORTEX SPONSORED VIDEO! This alone would reduce the credibility of the comparison to zero. 2. There is no laboratory/scientific evaluation of either device for accuracy, clarity, range, flare, or capability, etc. 3. The range was only 200yds (you don't need either at that distance unless you are golfing). 4. The evaluators were laymen off the street. Not exactly expert opinions. 5. The Vortex was provided free, and was brand new...the Sig was used, and 2 years old. Ever compared an old used optical device to a new one? Unless you are VERY meticulous with your lens preservation and cleaning, you will see a significant degradation in clarity after a very short time. (The author admitted to being tough on his equipment, as displayed by the tape on the eyepiece, and missing lens cover on his new device) 6. There was not a balanced comparison of the features available on either device. The Sig is loaded with features not included with the Vortex. Sorry, but I see no value whatsoever in this so called review. I would call this a thinly veiled advert for Vortex, even if it wasn't intended to be one.
    The content creator obviously doesn't have the wherewithal to understand the requirement to set a proper baseline or any standards for an effective evaluation, not to mention the need to eliminate a direct conflict of interest with sponsored content. And lastly, I own both Sig and Vortex products, and believe that they are both good manufacturers that provide quality products. Depending on my needs, I would consider buying either one of these rangefinders. Unfortunately, this video provided no usable information in which to make ANY type of comparison between these two fine products.

    @nicholas1740 2 года назад +1

    Some key points here.. You didn't have the people adjust their focus on each eye piece for their particular vision with the Sigs. Both sets of binos have a 1.5mil beam divergence. The Vortex doesn't have blue tooth, so it won't connect to a Kestrel or a phone! The Sigs will. This is a dynamic difference! Folks who don't care about blue tooth, or own a Kestrel, may not understand the benefits! This is HUGE, especially if you're guiding a hunter or calling out dope for a buddy! All you have to do is input your hunters data, and his dope into the kestrel and, it will be displayed in the Sig binos! It also factors in the angle of the shot. So if I'm shooting at a high angle up or down, I don't have to put that into a phone, it tells my Kestrel what the angle is. All I do is range, dial, shoot! My glass on the Sig was so crystal clear that when I first started using them they gave me a headache! But I got used to them quickly. I can also load up to 30 rifles in my Kestrel. The reason the Vortex is more $ is because you're paying for a warranty! I dropped my Sigs on the ground from the bed of my truck and it bent the eye cup. They not only paid for the shipping but sent me a new pair within two weeks! Sig doesn't push a warranty, they just handle it! And for those who might think I'm slighted, I have bought 3 Vortex Viper PST GEN II's in the last 3 years. But I've sold two of them because they wouldn't hold zero after a bumpy ride in the back seat of my truck. So I now own two NF scopes and have had zero issues. I still have a Vortex PST 4-16x50 FFP I bought 7 years ago that is rock solid on a long range AR.

      The fury also links to kestrel but does more then the signs. Both are great. You don’t ever have to mess with app unless you want to. But with the Fury you don’t have to be linked to get your profiles of three rifles it’s all stored in the fury. Also it has sensors to get temp and altitude and more to have up to date info. It shows the drop/holds and inclination

    Vortex
    Pros:
    Ergonomics
    Ruggedness
    Unlimited on board ballistics
    Better glass, eyecups and diopter
    Sig
    Pros:
    Wider FOV
    Extremely fast ranging laser
    Ballistics app is more user friendly but limited to 800 yards
    Cons:
    Oversized eyecups allowing lots of glare
    Really loose diopter so you’ll have to readjust them every outing, poorly made plastic eyecups

    Not really a review more like a commercial for vortex.

    Sorry, but can’t agree with this review Rick. The SIG is way better quality than the Vortex. It has ballistics and is a totally solid bit of kit. The SIG also has lifetime warranty..

      Vortex has on board ballistics as well but Sig ballistic app is much more user friendly, Sig has lifetime warranty but 5 year on electronics so Vortex warranty has it beat by a mile. I wouldn’t say Sig is better “quality” Vortex has the edge when it comes to the glass quality and ruggedness.

    You lost me with the GIANT Vortex ad on your chest. BIASED. I don't buy your opinion. Sorry. And you have a jacked-up set of Vortex kit you're touting.
