God I love this song. It's what rock and roll in the 1970's was all about. Saw them live in Sydney in 1977 and they blew us all away.
What a great Bassplayer.. Alan Lancaster
I have heard this great music group and this song already in 1975 - I still love the song dearly.
¿How couldn't you love the mighty Quo?
What a fantastic song !
Quo in their heyday. Can't beat it!😁👍👍❤
got most of the quo's albums and singles on vinyl , couldn't of made it through the seventies and eighties without them !, saw them twice two years running at wembley arena, would complete a dream if i could sing on stage with them , (ain't gonna happen is it lol)
What a song 🎵 absolute energy 👏
Started to like this group at 5 years old and been to two of their concerts . The first one I went to people were dancing in the isles
kings of the power chords and stance!
Bin ein großer Fan dieser Gruppe.Habe alle ihre Platten, und höre sie mir immer wieder mal an.
A wall of Wem Amps and an open G tuned Telecaster what a sound!
great band surprising that they only ever had a number one but neverless fantastic song.
Brings back great memories..love em.❤❤❤❤❤
The QUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO are still CLASS!
When I was a 13 year old wanna be biker in England they were the bollocks and now a well traveled biker of 52 in Australia same same !!
love QUO !!! lovely warm days .
Same Bro... Reminds me of my Dad and his Cortina :)
The 'thumbs throught the belt loops dance' referred to below was known as 'the angel rock' and was different to the dance done to Mud! The Mud one involved something similar to a box step. The Quo one involved taking a wide stance, bending forward from the waist and rotating to push the right shoulder towards the left hip, then the left towards the right, then leaning back and pushing the shoulders back in turn. (So there.) :)
First heard this of all places: at a Supermarket in Port Douglas, Queensland. This ROCKS!!!
Status quo for ever !!
Great song, Great group
Iknow got my tickets today last seen 1977 blackpool opera house rocking all over the world cant wait!
classic man.. feel that ,,,,,,,,
Thanks voor this Video...
R'n Roll from da UK !!
Again again again !!!
Love the Quo,especially Francis Rossi.
So solid you could build a house on it !!
bom bom bom muito bom rock rock rock rock eterno..........
Excellent choice.....😊..
Quo was to Britain what Grand Funk was to the US. They were basic three chord rock and roll that the fans loved, but the critics hated. Even more interestingly, just like Quo never really broke big in the US, Grand Funk never really broke in Britain.
so sad they cut almost half of the song.. it rocks hard!
J'aime, j'aime - A l'époque je sortais avec une blonde incendiaire qui ressemblait à Marylin et on écoutait ça à fond dans le walkman tandis que je l'embrassais à pleine bouche , yeaaaaaa!!!!!
Excellent!
This Song IS roc'n''roll classic
Love This!
J'ai beaucoup écouté quand j'étais ados ...
Good one, I like your sense of humour.!!!!!
NEVER EVER noticed that before.......... well spotted!

Rock n roll baby❤
Rossi, Parfitt, Lancaster, Coghlan
This is Status Quo
yes, one of the line-ups of this great band :)
einfach super!!!!!!
Thumbs up if you remember putting your thumbs in your belt loops and doing the dance
Alan Lancaster R.I.P
Coghlan did this a lot ... same as Gene Kruper classic drummer JC admired.... think he was also taking the piss during the lipsync session on TOTP :)
Know what ya mean Mark but don't you agree with what Frame says that the band needed to change. The musical differences between FR and AL were just too great. This doesn't lessen what the original line up achieved or for that matter the latest line up with Rhino. It just means it's different. What do ya think?
What a great performance when Alan Lancaster sang the Roadhouse Blues for example. Far away from Boogie Rock.
YES!!!
THE QUOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WERE CLASS...
Love Coghlan cathching the cymbals on the upstroke!
Just remembered I need to pop down to Coles
superrrrrr
I'm one step a head.went to coles ard I am now the proud owner of a down down prices are down hand.
fantastique groups
The QUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ARE CLASS
Dig those upside down cymbal strikes!
самая первая пластинка в моей жизни!)
нюхал--облизывал! и......балдел по черному!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Good
Yeah.....check out the Quo site......the frantic four are a uk tour around which maybe extended if it goes well.
tout bon,jaime
@whitbyjet65 There may well have been a similar dance to Tiger Feet, as there also was for Nutbush City Limits, but I can assure you, there was also one for Status Quo ;=]
Un temonnnn... Status Quo
i still love the song dearly.......but whenever that ad comes on TV i either change the channel or hit mute and turn away.
rex batt......my headmaster from 73-76 would be smiling in his grave knowing that you sold out like this.
But it wouldn't have worked. The musical differences were too large. This doesn't lessen what the original line up achieved or for that matter the latest line up with Rhino. I think we should appreciate both incarnations of the band. They both have their strengths (and weaknesses).
very true. I appreciate all the different lin-ups of SQ. They all bring something worthwhile to the table :)
This line up is touring next year......not joking.
@chillmeister2010 yep - i remember it well ! cleared a few dance floors with that one
Exactly, He was actually the only one of the the four of them who didnt smoke Weed. Although he did enjoy a drink or two
It was one of the reasons why he left. I have met John Coghlan. Such a sound down to earth bloke.
The shortened TOTP version.
Don't begrudge them for a second for selling out to Westfarmers (Coles). Still fucking arse kicking twelve bar blues that rocked me growing up in Aussie.
Hvis der er nogen der kan huske disse fyre så se denne video
tout bon groups jaime
Amazing how skinny we all were. AND we never died from starvation.
Sure the cocaine helped as well
the best of quo..but too short version:-(
Down down, prices are down!
SMAŽBA :-) :-) :-)
This guys always ROCKS.
Quo at their collective best! Love this song it rocks like a mogo shame about the edit half way through.....
Status quo rocks !!
Open tuned guitars. So that was it.
@whitbyjet65 These guys are obviously drunk and they're not doing it properly, but here you go, its the only vid I can find.....it wont let me post a link here, but the video is called "How to dance to Status Quo..", it's 58 secs long
god how i remember this appearance no. 1 for a week Jan 18th then booted of the top by the Tymes Ms Grace ''WHOOOOOOOO'????????????????'
Rhyzzer38 ..... the piece in the Advert on this clip? ... can you help a brother out? .. cheers mate ... and 1 up for the Quo :)
super groups
A little touch of the Beatles sound in their early days... The song itself "Down Down" almost sound similar to the Beatles song "I'm Down" ... i am not trying to take away from this group because they ARE good and they DO have their own style... I'm just saying...
I reckon Allan should have stayed, status quo would have had much more success on a world audience if he would have stayed, Allan wanted to add more thickness to their tone, as you can hear in the early quo days, you can hear Allan's bass is a lot thicker than rhino's, much better bass player IMO
No, I have to disagree with you on this. SQ wouldn't have survived hadn't they changed the line-up. First of all, Rossi wanted the band to end and start a solo career but record company was more keen on a new SQ line-up instead. So they did that. I think all the different line-ups has brought good stuff to the table. If Alan had remained they wouldn't have reached the success that they did in the 80s and 90s. And I would argue that Rhino is a more versatile bassplayer than Alan was.
Yep, Coles rock......errr I mean Status Quo Rock
Keby bola takato muzika aj dnes.....
Green guitar. Say no more.
esta es la banda original con jhon couglan y alan lancaster
Omar Landeros tienes toda la razón, es el status quo clásico, gracias por mencionarlo Amigo !!
Couldn't you find enough tags ?....You forgot : Hair Deep,Down,Denim,Quo,2013,Puke,Pea, Green,Fender,Telecaster....
They boys were looking slightly, just slightly glammish.
Drumer is so stoned O.o
I think i would take the green tele anyday over the dreaded big red hand
Is this true?
I'm an Australian and I'm shamed and disgused at the thought of Quo doing an tv ad with down down but with words prices are down. Why why why the fuck did thet have trash a very good song such as this classic 1970's song into a cheap and nasy fucking ad. What! they needed the money come on gimme a break.
what would you do if you had to live on your music?
Ramones in a sort of the way.
No he's not John Coglan looked like that all the time....bloody good drummer though.
Ehh,? sorry im puzzled,,
