    I have been wanting to buy this model due to that it doesn’t have 2 lids, it’s all in one and that the lay out is wider for roast and chicken. You did a great job showing its functionality!

      I heard the Instant Pot Pro Crisp is better because it has handles for picking up the inner pot

  • @sarahminty
    @sarahminty 2 месяца назад +4

    This machine is great with a few bodge workarounds once it breaks!
    There's a weakness in the lid insert at the bottom that, once snapped, hangs loose and can fall off when you open the lid. This is terrifying. Workaround is open the lid slowly and stick your wooden spoon in to hold it in. Also without the lid insert attached properly, it won't saute. Workaround is ram something in there to push it against the lid. Use a small spoon or a rolled up cloth.
    Another issue is that the fast release randomly decides not to work. The workaround here is to stick a tiny brush (one to clean strawers) in the vent at the top and wiggle it!

    Our tap comes out at 127 so our cooker gets up there quick. We use the sear setting to pre heat while building with water. A hack I got off a comment section so please share folks to help others

      Amazing. I’d love to go to Singapore, been close, visited Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.
      As far as the steam release. I don’t believe it will affect the cooling results at all. Cheers. Marc

    How does it quick release on its own? I hate quick releasing all that steam at once.

    • @TheAverageKitchen
      @TheAverageKitchen  5 месяцев назад +1

      It doesn't quick release in it's own, you have to do it, but it's very easy. It does unfortunately release it at once. That's what makes it quick! Thanks for watching! - J

    • @b.walker5955
      @b.walker5955 3 месяца назад

      It offers three releases that I can tell. Just got mine out of the box. I think they recommend I choose PULSE release (the middle option) for beans or rice/grains. Other videos are showing the steam pulse releases every 15 seconds in a spurt that lasts about 3 seconds.

    Hi guys a great variety of foods reviewed so we can see how they cook and turn out. I was surprised and pleased that you didn't need to shake the fries or turn food at all in air fryer mode. I was about to buy this model as the functions included everything I use until I watched another review which pointed out a couple of things I deem negatives. Firstly the fixed lid makes it a little more difficult to clean which might just be annoying rather than a real problem. Secondly and probably more importantly, how do you remove and replace the fixed seal? They need to be changed regularly depending on how often you use your insta as they deterioate. I used my old duo nova for yoghurt making with a different coloured seal as the savoury seals retain smells of previous cooks and I don't want my yoghurt to have a savoury flavour. Oh I found a great hack for the missing yoghurt function on the duo crisp with separate lid, which I ended up purchasing btw. It's a simple thing to use sous vide which allows temperature to be lowered to 110 for as many hours as you want.

      Thanks for the great comment! I'm not 100% sure about the seal. Maybe someone in the comments will help! - J

    Hey guys! Good job on this review! My only concern with this product is that the sealing ring can't be changed. I have several rings for my Instant Pot Pro which come out easily to be changed. I think on this unit the sealing ring is built into the lid. Would the whole lid have to be purchased? The sealing rings do need to be changed from time to time.

    Hi, Jamie & Marc!
    I love your videos!!!
    I have never pressure cooked ribs! But they looked delicious! So, I'll have to try doing that! My husband loves ribs! I'll let you know how he likes your recipe. 🙂 The roast looked delicious too! Gotta try that recipe too!
    We live in Florida. I'm originally from NJ, but I used to go to Canada about 6-7 times a year for either vacation or to see NJ Devils' games in Toronto, or Montreal. If I had my way, I would have immigrated to Canada right after university. But my parents squashed that dream. Hey, where else could I be a teacher, a nurse & a die-hard hockey freak all at the same time?!
    My husband is originally from Kentucky and moved to Florida when he was in grade 6. He's never been to Canada. So, I want to take him to Niagara Falls, downtown Toronto and (of course) the Hockey Hall of Fame.
    I moved to Florida 7 years ago. We've known each other 6 years & married 5 years.
    Anyway, keep making your fantastic videos!!!
    Go, Leafs, Go!!! (They'll get past the bruins! I know it!!!)

      Hey Nancy !! That’s awesome !! We appreciate your ongoing support. The hockey hall of fame is amazing !! Jamie is a leaf fan and I love the Sens. However, I grew up as a die hard Scott Stevens fan and I followed the Devils and went to a ton of games during the 90’s and 2000’s to see Stevens play.
      Cheers

    Top video as always. Have you made Dulce de leche? You can pressure cook condensed milk from a can in water for 20 minutes and you will get that. I always wanted to get one of those pots but we don't have space in our kitchen so I went for just a normal pressure cook. I use mine every week to make beans.

      Was also curious if you've ever tried a cornstarch slurry as a thickener. It takes SUBSTANTIALLY less to begin to thicken, and begins to happen much quicker (I don't have much experience with flour slurries, but it seemed to take quite a while to begin to thicken)
