Love the fact that Ritchie pulled back his levels for the kid to be heard better. Also the fact that Ritchie could have blown the roof away with his chops but that's what Music is not about. It's about respecting a fellow Musician and having a great jam
Guess you missed that the host turned up the kids amp
Well said rishabh . Completely agree. Very respectful and humble of Ritchie to let the kid showcase.
@@samhain6953 it was a bit low so he had to but the guy is talking about the sound coming out of his amp. It was very dry with no gain to speak if and no sustaine. The kid had a bit of both and sounded amazing but Richie kept his "as is" to be respectful and let the kid shine, although he really didn't need much help.... Cheers.
That's how you know he's a good guy.
@@RyneMurray23Well that's the thing about Rock n Roll and Metal Musicians. They live for the Music and not for the fame and money but it ain't the case with these Pop Stars. They live it for the exact opposite reasons. Hence no one talks about them or appreciates their work.
First: The kid is dressed like an 90s movie kid. Love it.
Second: My guitars heard this kid play, surrounded me in the middle of the night and unanimously told me I suck and that I should give them away.
Third: This kid really held his own. I get nervous playing in front of my guitar teacher.
Fourth: Good video and good job making me feel even more like trash.
thumbs up for the username
90s? u don’t know your decades it’s 80s
yes
Kid's are the future.. And it's looking bright! I know about 10yr old Taj Farrant, now another great player whose not just "trying to shred", but actually playing with great tone and feeling, like a highly experienced Blues player. Young with an old soul! ..Much props to Gibson for finding future legends!
Hey man, I struggle *hard* at times with guitar and drums so I feel ya.
My best advice from another "scrub" is to keep at it and don't get lazy, but don't "force" yourself to get better. Let that shit happen organically though the love of music.
I wish you nothing but success and luck. I hope you find the path of rocking out and enjoy every step of the way. 🤘
The kid has better instinct and feel than most players twice his age.
Including your existence 😇🤘!
or 3 times
No man stands taller than when he stoops to help a child
JP Farrell love what you just said here. That makes me feel good about myself and I thank you for that.
@@cyjazz I concur.
Great comment!
That's serious wisdom. Thank you.
That kid's got a future. So does Jayden.
I saw that kid in Houston, Tuesday night and yeah, he's gonna be aight !!
Saw him in April. Man can he play.
Loved that Richie kinda played back and gave Jayden the floor. Looked like it boosted his confidence and he WENT for it. Nailed it too.
Very sporting of him.
Richie is nothing if not a super supportive total pro musician, I appreciate what he does.
I hope this kid makes it in the music world and gets a perfect band . This kid is awesome .
hunter affleck this kid should jam with Gary Clark jr
So he can get lost
I play drums I think we'd be a perfect band
@@Kking20 I would love to sing in your hypothetical band.
Ritchie has earned every right to be in Priest. I been there, seen Priest Live with and without him. Has has picked up the Priest Flag and cared on. Long Live Judas Priest!
Ronnie Lopez he may have carried it on but now Priest isn't Priest.
Teddy Malfoy who said I'm not dealing with it? It's not Priest. Wasn't priest when Rob left.
So Malfoy go back so diddling Ron
@@daveg4236 obviously there not the classic Priest we all know and love. But the spirit of Priest lives on. I see it in my 16 and 10 year old sons faces on this past FirePower Tour. That's all that matters.
Ronnie Lopez sorry. Seen it. Fire isn't there. Halford yes. But not the test. Ehhhh show. Seen them since early 80s all over the world
I agree, saw them live twice with Richie now. It's Priest. And he's fantastic. Rhandy Rhoads possesses him.
She's got the Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, she's got the Jack
& she sure was good *but you forgot one Jack !
Thanks, I didn't remeber the name :D
poker face was the nameeee poker face was her natureeee
better than the clap
Little Angus there, from Australia too.
Man, the thing I really love about Richie is the fact he understands that so many metal heads that grew up in the 80s, like me, idolized so many bands and wanted to be just like them. He takes time out to chat, jam, teach and does all kinds of things and it says so much about him. As a progressive bass player, I have been a metal head for about 40 years and would have loved to play JP covers. Unfortunately, I was in a band that played all kinds of music except metal. In any case, I think Richie is just a kick ass classy guy who keeps it real. He is simply another reason to love JP.
The best complement I ever got, in my opinion, was when a bassist I was jamming with for the first time came up to me during a break and said, 'Man, I hope you don't take this wrong but I can't believe you play like THAT and you're not a prick about it".
The part about my lack of bad attitude meant more to me than the praise on my playing by a mile!!!
The fact is, I'm REALLY not that great!!! I just make sure that what I play is complementary to the music as a whole. When you have an honest appreciation for your gift, you're more than happy to share it with anyone and everyone who's willing to participate.
I think Mr. Faulkner falls into this category, "All Gratitude and No Attitude"!!!
How does a bass player get a million dollars?
Starts with 2 million
This shows how humble and great richie is
Right after the blues jam ended I would’ve jumped right into Electric Eye
Yupppp
LOL! ;)
@@melissadag69 lol indeed. I’d do it even moreso after hearing he was having a heart attack during a live Painkiller performance. That man is metal.
after the blues jam ended l World ve Jumper right info electric eye
Painkiller!
Whenever I play with someone for the first time this is always how we start. The blues are just fundamental to everything. Great to watch Richie lay back and let the kid work out.
That kid is talented as heck! I'd embarrass myself if I were in his shoes.
he looks like he has actually played the guitar and is serious about learning, you arent.
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 Excuse me?
And I don't think you should be taking children's shoes. It's creepy.
This kid is a natural talent. A born guitar player.
MrPercussionPete unfortunately he’s not he’s been taking lessons since 9
no:
the thing about guitar is,you only get back what you put in.nothing is free and no one is a natural....
god given talent is a "bullshit statement" its not real, you want to kick ass,you have to pay the price.
the more you want out of guitar and the better you want to be,the more you have to sacrifice.
no one is born with talent, its earned in blood, sweat, tears, time and blisters.watching youtube
will never make you better on guitar, playing call of duty same....only thing makes you better is earning it
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 You are born with talent.
Not really. Typical, easy licks, everybody knows them. He is playing really long. Kids in music schools are much better. After 2 years my friend (was in his age) played "Voodoo child". Almost everybody after 6 months is able to play something like that.
@@joep1551 Thank you.
Watching this is enough to make a grown man cry 🥺
Saw AC/DC in 1975 when Bon Scott was still alive at Paddy's markets in Sydney. What a concert.
I've been playing for a long time but this kid makes me look trash
Same, Jack.
same...same...so sad
Same here😂
maybe because he had a clean sound? trust me kid if ritchie had distorction he will shred your freaking brains out!
@Behemoth 27 could you improvise like that at 11?
Glad to see Richie recovering nicely from his near death a few weeks ago from his ruptured aorta! I'm sure Jayden was thrilled to meet Richie & Richie was so cool with Jayden! Jayden is a great muscian and we all LOVE Mr. Richie Faulkner & his Heavy Metal Guitar! 💕
I was singing "the jack" right along with u guys. Rock on guys. 🤘🤘🤘
Ritchie is the MAN! He is one of those super respected dudes in the music business not just the metal genre! Amazing guitar skills!!
How could anyone thumbdown this vid?! So cool and heart warming what class as well, Richie is such a nice guy, he could so easily be up himself but he comes across just so humble and down to earth
This is so heartwarming. Heavy metal is like a family, the old teaching the young, passing the torch and enjoying music together. No other genre can even compare. And by the way, seeing this kid improvise with soul is way better than watching those couch virtuosos on RUclips.
Richie Faulkner is the best. One of my fav guitarists
The kid so cool, killer, so talented and absolutely a rock n roll guy.
Ritchie, my all time favourite🤩🤘🏼, listened to him alive in concert in max 10m of distance. F×cking awesome guy, gave a new treatment to Judas with his talented riffs and solos. Also so cude, take his level down and play slowly with new generation.
Love both of you guys keep rocking.
I have been listening to metal since the the early 80's. Never heard of a band called Judas Priest. They must be a new easy listening soft rock band. If Richie practices hard, I believe he has a chance to make it. LOL! No don't kill me. I am kidding. I am not a stupid troll. I love Judas Priest and have been a fan of the the group for decades. Richie has the skills and has earned his stripes, to be among the Metal Gods. Bravo to Richie, for taking the time to encourage the kid.
Kid's got a bright future ahead of him 🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
This kid is going to look back on this and say “ I jammed with “ The Richie Faulkner”. I don’t think Ive ever heard Richie play so cleanly and kindly. I’ve been there and I just put the guitar down and watched. What a Gentleman...
Indeed!
Somewhere up there, BB King is smiling down...
Wow. Being this young and having the Priest Falcon as your rhythm guitarist.... must be a dream come true. I bet kid realizing this a decade or two later ;-)
I've been playing since 1975 off and on and I sometimes get nervous playing with others, very good jam kid keep it up!
Absolutely, totally, completely cool.
🤘🏾JUDAS meets ACCA/DACCA.
nice to see that he got older (11!) Yesterday I found him as an 8 year old guitar genius. So now he´s an thirteen year old guitar genius...so cool
that goes to show how COOL richie is, have fun with the little guys,, never know he might be a rising star,......
Heckin.... Nice playin', kid. And Richie.
Will be a great father...kudos to Richie...
I really like one aspect within Richie, within moment player, not scripted. What ever crosses his mind at given moment towards, is what he executes. Schon very similar if not same, live home studios he plays what he feels at moment. Lack within variety never evolved, boring never evolves.
Love Richie! And the kid is great.
Best video that I watched on youtube in the last 10 years, hands down
Jayden has been given the gift of guitar. The cat is real. Can’t wait to hear his skills in 10 years time. A monster in the making.
An old Priest Fan and Drummer clicks here and said....Awesome. Great Performance.
Richie went on to play Jambi in Nashville and rendered me unconscious with the lengthy blonde streak of his hair followed shortly by his blast of the shockwaves coming from his guitar. It was the best version of Jambi I have ever heard. Bless that mans fingers
Ja den is very good for his age.Richie Faulkner is one of the greatest guitarists eher to live.
Get well sooner than soon, Richie.. much love! 😢
That was awesome
I have sold my guitar after watching this video :) this kid rocks!
Amazing playin by the kid!
*expected some cudeness - bein blown away* - pure aweseomeness!!
Love this... thumbs up to Richcie and the Kid
Jesus Christ.. I can barely play Smoke on The Water.
Só está parecendo a base do grandão o solo do menino colocaram o volume muito baixo.muito errado isso
This kid is freaking amazing 🙌🙌🔥
This kid has been blessed and will never forget this experience 😎🇺🇸🎸🎸🎸🎸👍
- How you doin dude
- Yeaaaah
“What’s up dude!?” ... “yeah?!?” 💀😂😭
Wow, a reincarnation of a great guitarist, beyond excellent
Yeah good chops fellas n respect
Pretty cool. I guess with over 7 billion on the planet it's not a surprise there are going to be a few rare gems.
Awesome.
I'm developing a major GAS for a 67 V with a Maestro. (reissue of course, because I won't sell the farm to buy an original) Also, dig how Richie kept a clean tone and jammed with this kid but didn't try to overwhelm him.
That was great! Looks like Ritchie had fun with that.
This kid can shred
kid is so well spoken and articulate for his age
To young boys playin good old stuff
Jayden's playing one classy guitar!
The red SG aka the Angus guitar
this is some good stuff
Really eager to hear how Jayden sounds when he gets older, it’s gonna be a trip!
I love Richie’s note choice so awesome.
Richie is guitar god that my generation needs ( born in 99 )
Love love LOVE this! You are one to be reckoned with Jayden! When you coming to the states and when you gonna have a axe battle with Aussie Taj Farrant? That would be epic bro!!
Hayden is so cool
Awesome !! Great job to both of these guys.
That kid is lil Mozart!!!
All I cared about at that kids age was licorice. That kid is awesome!
Well done
Richie Faulkner... The nicest guy in Rock. Music
He was awsome. Great ear for music and great skills... Well done.
if it was me at that age i would dropped my jaws!!!!!
Wow!!!!!
Great boy
Jayden's playing is sweet like Champagne, my playing is like the contents of a Piss Bucket! Too Good
This is so awesome!!! Great work!!
I like this new name, "Gear" Factor, instead of "Fear" Factor, like the tv show.
Get this kid in contacts with Gary Clark jr ASAP
big yoppa no. Let him be his own thing
You've Got Another Jayden Comin!
This kid got some licks!
Coolest kid I've ever seen 🤘
Got to check out gearfactor the music experience at Rockville a few years ago...its pretty awesome getting to check out all the pro gear and instruments....got to play a jim root signature model out of an orange cabinet that id never be able to afford....plus the occasional meet and greet...the whole idea is really awesome
The kid is 11 years old with 40 years of guitar experience
I turned around and thought man Faulkner can really shred and it was the kid!! Damn that kid is good!
He is able to groove naturally and weave naturally at age 11.... Holy shit. Keith Richards or Ronnie Wood vibe big time.
Never thought I would be jealous of a kid! Just kidding he’s got some talent!
damn the kiddo plays good! 11 years old and improvising a good sounding solo.
Someday I'd like to be as good as Jayden
Look at that 🔥🔥🔥
Great to see the older folk support the youth..
I knew Richie is an awesome blues player! Kinda shows a lot in his solos even in Priest
wow kid holy shit, adds a little sweep in there
That kid is killing it🤘🏻
I'be been playing guitar for 26 years but this little kid is a lot better than me 😭😭 he puts me to shame
