    People can be so cruel and judgmental. When people say, “zero sympathy for addicts” or, “you 100% caused your own problem,” I want them to see stories like this and say, “What about someone who tries drugs to fit in with his Mom and Dad?”
    It’s sweet that he finally used his mom’s experience to help get clean. I hope he is doing well & if not, I hope he always gets back up.

    Dude made it a point to turn out a different person than his parents were and he did it. This guy has way more determination and positive outlook than anyone from his past did. Really solid dude I hope he helps others like him get treated!

      100% good soul surrounded by bad situations and people. He did what he had to do to belong in his environment. Glad he got out.

      same they help me reflect a little bit on my decisions that ive made in the past but nothing ever really stops me in the moment. :/

    This is a great example of why we don't shoot our wounded in recovery. God always prevails and opens doors for us only we can close. Much respect to this guy for not closing the doors and walking through to true recovery. God's speed my brother!!!! and its a great day to be clean and sober...

    I love these stories! They are so encouraging! I would love to get some follow up videos from some of the past people who were interviewed. I'm sure I speak for a lot of others who also want to hear about how they are doing recently.

    This is why parents should be there and not just focus on material things. This guy just wants TO BELONG. At times that goal is stronger than anything. I know that feeling.I may not be on drugs but wanting to belong is my journey too.

    I am happy that he was able to push through with the help of his mom's love and experience. It is such a pity that people does not have sympathy. Everyone of us have different experiences in life, we need to sympathize and understand what they are going through.

    Much love, encouragement and support are needed from family members. We should be judgemental. We should try walking a mile in someone else shoe and see if we can do better. You're a strong guy. Remain forever sober.

    I wouldn't say you had an unfortunate childhood but a very hard one and had to learn the hard way, wish landed you in all this mess. But I am glad that despite how low you were, you were still able to dust yourself up and make a better life for yourself. I congratulate you for the courage despite all.

    Very sad to hear about your childhood. I understand the feeling of trying to fit in and the fact that you wanted to. It would have been really difficult having parents in 2 different worlds of their own. Despite all it is a good thing you had the strength to change things for yourself and become clean.

    I was around people shooting up all around me and I never wanted to do it too. Even though I'm not afraid of needles at all due to donating plasma with a giant needle. Shooting up is way too much work and leaves marks on your skin for the world to see.

    I was in sped classes too. I do think that some of the kids I was in sped with likely didn’t even need to be in sped and were unnecessarily placed and misdiagnosed. Trauma signs often mimic other medical conditions like ADHD and learning difficulties.

    For me instead going to gang it is better to be close more to your family because they are the one will help you the most. Family are the best people will help you in terms of bad and good times in your life they will advice you what is the best for you especially if you do wrong for sure the will help you.

    I hate all that AA NA whatever A talk. Just do it. All they do is get addicted to those meetings and that life style. There’s all kinds of crap that goes on. Most of them are sober and keep acting like drug addicts so there’s really no change in them

      I don't believe that. some of my hardest times god carried me. when my very young son was killed in a hit and run I gave it to god and he did get me through it. you have to have faith for good things to happen. god bless
