I recently purchased the Mavic Air 2 and love it.. but i am unable to get the device to follow me! I've watched videos and read manuals.. still no success
Wait a minute. I have the Mavic Mini and the main reason why I would buy the Mavic Air 2 is the strength against high winds. How strong were these winds please so we know what to watch out for?
How was the noise in shadow ? Remember the air had this noise in shadow if you went for a flatter profile or tried to avoid internal NR all together. That was in daylight filming
There is noise in shadows and it's more than on the Mavic 2 Pro, but I yet have to test how bad it is. It's certainly much better than on the original Air.
Yeah that suck! I wouldn't trust RTH for my MAV2pro, My Ipad has blacked out a few times in cold condition, I ran it home just looking at the telemetry on the radio. RTH is good but if you are in different landscapes and have set the hight to low then you are fuc...! Better doing RTH manually but that's my opinion! Also RTH isn't needed if you see the drone right 😂

really cool drone indeed! But can it also shoot Raw Photos in the normal 12 Megapixelmode? Would be important to know to be able to shoot photos in motion.
Stop distributing incorrect information Ozzy! It's simply not true. The 48MP photos are in DNG Raw. What you see in the featured image is such a photo that was processed in Lightroom, it's 8000x6000 pixels and comes in DNG format.

Okay so is that what I'm seeing and a lot of these videos. I see like a stutter with the video if something is below and the Drone is moving forward.. This is because we're not using ND filters I thought the stutter was because there's no mechanical shutter? Ken heron is the one who mentioned this in one of his videos talking about the phantom 4 pro has a mechanical shutter. And this stops all of that stuttering and skipping when movement is below and you're moving forward, or side-to-side Ever since he pointed it out I see it everywhere it drives me crazy..
No camera that shoots video uses a mechanical shutter while shooting video. That would kill the life of the shutter. You can prove this with any DSLR or DSLM camera. The mechanical shutter is for photos. It affects motion blur in photos not video. Video uses an electronic shutter that mimics what a mechanical shutter does. Stuttering is a result of having the shutter speed to fast. The faster the shutter speed the less motion blur occurs which goves the illusion of stuttering. Our eyes are accustomed to seeing motion blur naturally when things are in motion. Theats why when you shoot video you genrrally follow the 180 rule. Set you shutter speed at double your frame rate. And in the of case consumer drones where you cant always control the lens aperture manually to keep the image from being too bright, you should use ND filters instead of increasing the shutter speed. That’s where people go wrong. While Trying to keep the image from being too bright they either set the shutter speed fast or put it in auto mode which will do the same thing in bright conditions.
Yes it shoots in a flat profile that keeps more details in shadows and highlights that is why it looks almost black and white so the colors are not "baked" in the footage - it gives you a lot more options when coloring and better dynamic range - so you can push more the highlights/shadows for the better image!

Thanks for the video, good review. Few gripes I have about this new drone even though I don't have it yet: 1. Those ND filters you mentioned are essentially useless for video if you're following the 180 degree rule. I've used a 16 once or twice while shooting with the original Air and that was on a bright sunny day against sand/snow. DJI should really include the 4/8/32 (or even better 4/8/16) in the fly more combo instead of a ND filter kit that appears to add value, but really means that customers will have to go out and buy a lighter set of filters anyway if they want to shoot proper video. 2. No more Go4 app. Now I haven't used the Fly app, but from what I've seen from the reviews, it seems like they've taken away some of the functionality for a more streamlined experience. They don't even have a battery remaining/rth bar like the old app (unless I'm mistaken). Also you need a 64bit phone to run the Fly app. Not everyone cares if they have the latest and greatest phone, and I certainly don't feel like going out and spending an extra $500 on a new one so I can fly my drone. This is not to mention that on top of these costs there is also our weak Canadian peso, 12% tax, and DJI Refresh. It starts to make a reasonably affordable drone into a fairly expensive proposition. Just my 2 cents.
