My belovéd Granny died on 19 November 1982. The family were not asked about the interior upholstery, so she was buried in a powder-blue arrangement. I remember this until today in 2023.....The blue colour was superb, and much better than deathly white! ❤
Thank goodness I’ve built my own solid oak coffin, I’m in my 70’s so could be moving in soon. No way would I wish to be laid in chipboard coffin. Probably ok if you want a cremation, I’m going in ground so want something a bit more substantial.
Why do the coffins come unfinished? And why is it the funeral directors responsibility to finish them?? Is that a cultural or traditional practice? Here in America we purchase caskets ready made and all of the personalizations are manufactured prior to arrival… Always been curious about this.
I've just sent off an application to work in making coffins - fingers crossed I get an interview. I think this would be a very interesting and important industry to be a part of.
Can you explain how lead lined coffins are made and sealed? Like the one the Queen is in. DO they use a torch to seal the lead sheeting? Must be heavy.
Your Country’s Funeral workers and Directors definitely do more of the work than the US does. Seems like this wouldn’t be as less costly and more fit for cremation. I think many American would fall right though ot snap the four handles. US wood casket usually average abou 200+ or - pounds empty.. Yikes were are an overweight Country
what a mess, that must be the worst trimmed coffin i've ever seen, would you like to be shown how to trim one properly. And yes the handles are ornamental, but they also guarantee them upto 20-25 stone in weight aswell.
Thanks your comments are very welcome you are more then welcome to come and trim a coffin i must admit it not my best work thanks for the note about the handles but the one we use are only ornamental i know you can get load bearing handles i am sorry iv our little video has upset you we just trying to get our custmers better informond on solid v foil coffin choice grant
@@countyfunerals I dont see why, as long as you prove to them that you have permission and say its for educational purposes. Institute of human anatomy on here does with preserved ones
Not once of all the years I was a funeral director would I allow a cardboard box be allowed for a pillow. That’s a total disgrace and your coffin trim and side sheets are awful and the breast plate should be 21 inches from the top edge of the lid. If you can’t get it right then get out of the trade. I started my career back in the 60s before this chipboard and mdf rubbish came on stream and where coffins were made to measure out of solid wood. Not this factory built rubbish that is supplied today

How Many Coffins do you keep on hand for funerals before you receive the death call?
we have about 30 in stock at all times
How much would a coffin like this be
our veneered coffins are £95
solid wood £250. prices as of 15/04/2021
I need a REAL pillow and the bottom slightly wider, just so my knees are not touching. The religious symbol will be brass.
I’ve spent more on Halloween props than this actual coffin costs.
I really don't like those six-sided anthropoid coffins and much prefer the look of the rectangular caskets.
are you from the usa ?
@@countyfunerals No, I'm from the UK.
Comfy?! Have your clients ever complained?
nope
Would you let us see a body and get permission from a family
it is not aloud on you tube
