  • In this video we take a look at what Revell's US Navy Swift Boat Mk. I looks like right out of the box.
This is Revell's US Navy Swift Boat Mk. I in 1/72 scale, kit No. 05176.
The Swift Boat, also known as the Patrol Craft Fast (PFC) was initially used to patrol coastal areas and later for working interior waterways in Vietnam. The US Navy no longer uses these vessels, but they are still in use in Vietnam today. Approximately 125 of this type of watercraft were built by Stewart Seacraft during the Vietnam War.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Hi Johnny, Great video. I have been looking at this kit ever since I built the Light Seal Support Craft. I with they had a 1/35 version. I'll be looking forward to the build. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff

Hi Jeff, it's in the same scale as the PT109 that I built, so it should be a nice companion for it. Should go together well enough. Thanks for watching, take care. Johnny

I just recently built this same kit, and on a 1- 10 scale I give it a 6.
Those flimsy plastic "windows" are pretty much useless, and I elected to just leave the window openings empty, and it looks just fine on display that way. After I built the thing, I stuck it in a box, and put it in storage somewhere.
If you are looking for a good quality fast river boat kit like that one, then I reccomend the Tamiya "Pibber" It's a great kit, and typical Tamiya quality.

Hi Paul, sorry to hear that the windows gave you such trouble, I'll see what I can do with them, lol. Thanks for watching, take care my friend. Johnny
