shouldn't the area of the bars be proportional to the frequency it represents, and thus the y axis or height (frequency density) be calculated by the using the interval width and frequency?

it was quiet easy........... this video was really helpful............... but a small rectification is there................... i.e ....there ia mark on x axis known as krink which indicates that there is no observation upto first class and it is located between the origin and first class it can be also used on y axis if needed and if you dont draw that krink than your half mark is deducted according to ssc boards ...................btw it was included in textbook thats why i told.....i hope my comment helps other students .....thank you

yes, it's very important to add the crank line because the x-axis is not a linear scale but groups of numbers. the crank line shows that the axis is not a scale.
