100% agreed! My earliest memory of F1 is watching Alan Jones win 1980 title in Williams powered by the Cosworth DFV. Keke Rosberg taking 1982-3 championship was last DFV-powered car to win the title.
As a kid, the DFV seemed like grandads-F1 compared to the new boosted motors from Renault or BMW, so I really didn’t understand how dominant the DFV truly was. It wasn’t until many years later that I could appreciate what Cosworth had achieved

AMG One is a road car, and during it's development, regulations for road cars changed, so they had to do a lot of stuff all over again. RB17 is not road legal, so it doesn't really have any significant limitations in it's development. RB17's engine is designed for it, while Mercedes took an engine that had to be highly modified to make it work in road car, then the car itself had to be adapted to that engine.

My dream is a GT spinoff with real world roads, and with fully interactive cars, with all the interior and exterior interactive, that you can buy as DLC and spec like you would from the factory. GT could get the car manufacturers involved, give them a cut in exchange for full access, and sell the game as a real life means of test driving real cars, and aim it at anyone who drives IRL. Sell the roads as DLC, roads like Amalfi, the Swiss Alps, etc. sell the cars as DLC, launch with a small lineup of halo cars, then introduce more regular cars, so that the game becomes the default way for IRL drivers to test cars before they buy them. The cars would be extremely realistic, and have richer sound files than any other game, but there would be fewer cars at launch, a lot fewer, than other games. But I wouldn't care. Give me more detailed, richer, more realistic intereactive cars - not more basic laser scanned copy pastes with made up sound files.
Sony and GT could make a lot of money from this. I'd pay stupid money for a fully interactive GT3 RS that I got to spec myself and drive on virtual recreations of real roads.

It's a higher displacement V10 to have more reliability and longer maintenance intervals, but at 15,000 rpm, it will need pneumatic valves and a bunch of prep to even run at a track day. You might need a team to just get it started. 960 HP from 3.0 liters at 19,000 rpm was 2004/5 spec. This is a bigger engine with lower rpm for same power.

This car is Adrian Newey unleashed. For those who don't follow F1, Adrian Newey is one of the best automotive engineers of our time, if not all time. He has singlehandedly brought championship wins to teams for decades in F1, and has proven himself time and time again in what is arguably the most competitive motorsport when it comes to the development race of cars. It's basically a meme in F1 at this point, whoever has Adrian Newey on their team will be winning the championship.

No 1st gear, no 2nd gear because R is a combination of 1st & 2nd. Could make transmissions smaller, lighter, and more reliable, and not sacrifice any performance.
It's an excellent innovation that has a real practical use for the every day consumers. Too bad traditional car makers haven't adapted it.

Every aspect melted into a single purpose..... purified intent.
Appreciated what he said about the hotch potch of designers issue.
A musical harmony of specialists with the same hymn sheet, rather than a cacophany of uncoordinated noise.

i am witnessing history being made...
the greatest designer and technical genius ever...backed by the current leading team, using F1 tech and testing capabilities, the budget to built the ultimate "production" F1 experience...
THIS is like a dream becoming real, this is going to be a timestamp in automotive history!
every F1 team should do the same... and then create a new league, where these cars compete (given the costs, i would only do drags, top speed, laps times around famous tracks)...big money!
