I purchased a Contax G 28mm 2.8 lens from Japan. It is a great solution but takes time getting used to. The quality of the lens is phenomenal. It is a beautiful lens that provides me with my preferred length when out in the field. I would not recommend it for street photography since the control wheel can be a little fidgety at times. At some point, I will likely get the Leica M adapter kit and change it over to that mount.
I would expect that a better quality adapter would be...better. You do get aperture priority with this setup. It works well too. I have to say while the XP1 doesn't have the nice focus peaking of the Sony's etc, the magnification and high contrast image using the EVF is pretty useful. Thanks for watching!
Gad, has it been 11 years?! The G lenes are phenomenal on my Fuji xh-1 with focus peaking being a great help. I go back and forth to other lenses and other cameras, but the zeiss G’s really stand out to this day.
id be all over this combo with a nicer focus ring and focus peeping. one maybe silly question: does this combo still give you auto exposure / aperture priority shooting?

Let's see some photos with that rig!
Also the newest firmware update includes the option of peaking so that's a positive if you like that. This set up is fantastic though
I'll be wondering if these Contax G lenses with those rear fins will mount on my Fuji XM 1. And we don't know the name of the adaptor..who made it...
Interesting though a bit rambling. You say that you focus by using the EVF but you didn't explain how to judge the exposure. It is stop down metering?
Really need to get hold of one of these

Any images? How's the quality?
Hi nice video As Contax G Lens are for 35mm and Fuji Is not full frame ,What Is Lens factor correction When mounted on thé Fuji ?
I have the contax g 45 question with the adapter it's no longer a 45 ?
if you are adapting on to a fuji x system, the lens will be about a 67mm field of view because of the crop factor.
Can g lens mount in Nikon Fm2 or canon ef mount ?
don't forget the cost of processing film. in the long run, it will be much more expensive
1.5x I believe. 35mm = aprox 50mm
if i have the contax 45 what focal distance i have to set on the menu 45 mm or 67.5mm (45 x 1.5) ???
Set the camera to 45.
