I have like 2 echos that are not in use. One of them is a tower echo which i think is gen 1 and the other is a screen based echo. Hopefully they both work.
Is this pairing via Bluetooth different then the Home Theater mode on firestick..or same thing? I use Home Theater with an Echo Dot now and works great. The only issue I run into is if I use a VPN, and later turn it off I lose sound...and the only fix seems to be restarting firestick. Totally works, just the restart step is needed. Just wondering if I tried the Bluetooth option f it would be better...might try it. Thanks for video.
great vid, thanks for helping us all! i tried connecting 2 alexis devices but only 1 pairs up, is there a way to link up multiples to get surround sound experience. thanks
I just got the echo 4, paired it with my Sony tv via Bluetooth, can turn tv on, control audio and change channels but cannot hear tv through the echo. I ask Alexa to listen to TV and she says “okay” but no sound. The echo shows to be selected on the tv. Any ideas? Every video I find on this subject (which is not many) all have the same steps as yours but I have not been successful turning it into tv speaker.
I've been trying tobset it up on my iPad and phone. My phone recognized the device, but when I put on a song or whatever on RUclips, the speaker wasn't working
The 34.99 came up because when I went to install the Alexa app, it said it was 2 days free and $34.99 each month! I bound the device from Amazon for $17.99! I really just bought it to make my iPad louder lol
We show you exactly how to do it in this video. You have to put the echo in pairing mode, then select if from the device you want to share. We do it all the time from all our devices to make an amazing surround sound. it costs NOTHING. I would pay close attention to the video and don't over think it. Reach out on patreon if you need a private video
I have only one Alexa but would like to hear the audio from the TV as well as Alexa this feature does not exist if you know how to make the audio come from the TV as well as Alexa let me know thank you
but i'm confused. don't you have to go thru the whole registering of the echo before you can make it discoverable? I have an echo show and want to echo dot speaker to be attached to the fire tv....confused...
You would always register your devices. That's a one time thing you always do when you open the package. I'm showing how you can turn it into a Bluetooth speaker casting from anything (phone, android box etc). It's not a difficult thing, people just don't know about it.
@@CuriosityCafe Thank you. So in essence you can just use the echo dot as a simple bluetooth speaker with a firetv without going thru the added steps of making it into a home theatre thingy on the app...
The grouping of speakers is an amazon alexa function. You can do it to any amazon product speaker (echo dot, echo studio, echo show, firestick, fire tv, etc).
I’ve found this, in the past, to be unusable, as their is latency between the FireStick & the the echo speaker that throws of the lip sync from the movie to the speaker making it unwatchable
I have a question and it is not answer in the video, so I created a group with two echo 4 generation and when I want to connect them to my phone only one connects because each one have different Bluetooth connection, I tried to connect one echo to the other with Bluetooth and then connect it to my phone with only one Bluetooth connection but when I do that the echo device disconnects from the other device and only connect to my phone. So I don’t understand. I wish alexa devises had Airplay😭
Easy answer, if you created and Alexa group, that is an Amazon function. So you can connect any Amazon device to it as a surround sound or group. You can’t connect a cell phone like that. Firestick is ideal for this.
Lol, funny thing is I usually spell out alexa and had comments from people asking why I always spell instead of speak "alexa", well now we know why. Did you know you can change the name? I have Echo, Computer, Ziggy as my main devices so they don't get confused. I used Alexa only for this video because most people don't know that you can change it.
The video started out good and would have been better if you hadn't triggered my Echo Show into searching for devices to connect to. Most doing video's either mute their mic briefly or use a different phrase like Miss A etc so echo devices don't get triggered. I had to stop my echo from searching and then stopped watching your video at that point.

Brilliant just followed your instructions up and running, great video thanks❤️❤️❤️
Been looking at this idea for a while. So glad you showed it on the vSee! Great video!
Once again, Gary, your tips ROCK!! Thank you!
Dang I always wondered how to make my Alexia a Bluetooth speaker . Thanks again
Thanks for all the great videos
Thanks for the latest informative video.
I figured out how to pair but can you you pair it without disconnecting my Boise system? Want them all to run together
As I listen to your video you activated my Alexa show
Lol, that’s funny. Last video I got reamed for spelling Alexa. I can’t win
Wowwwww!!!! Impressive info.
Thank for the tips.
How can I control sound volume with fire stick's remote?
I have like 2 echos that are not in use. One of them is a tower echo which i think is gen 1 and the other is a screen based echo. Hopefully they both work.
They should, if not, you can always trade then in. Amazon has a great trade in program. We did a video about it

vpn could mess up the bluetooth. This is a common issue
Thank you kind sir👏
Thanks for the great info
great vid, thanks for helping us all! i tried connecting 2 alexis devices but only 1 pairs up, is there a way to link up multiples to get surround sound experience. thanks
Yes, you have to create a group in the Amazon Alexa app. We have a video on Patreon we can share
I just got the echo 4, paired it with my Sony tv via Bluetooth, can turn tv on, control audio and change channels but cannot hear tv through the echo. Is there another Bluetooth device also connected? Sometimes the remotes are Bluetooth and interfere
Also the smaller one would not let me go beyond volume 10 which was not good sounding
Small one wouldn’t be great. Gotta get the bigger studio ones. I even added the subwoofer. Sounds amazing two of those speakers and the sub
I just bought mine for the speaker, but in order to set it up, it’s literally $34.00 a month! It’s crazy!!!
I'm not sure what you mean? Using the echo as a speaker is FREE

Cannot get the speaker to appear in blue tooth, the speaker is new unused and I do not have the app, or an account. Kinda mad I bought it
Did you put it in pairing mode? To show up on any device you have to put them in pairing mode
What is the size of that black echo as I ordered it but got that smaller white one and didnt see that larger one
We put the link in the description section of the video
Can you use the echo dot 3 as a Bluetooth speaker when you don't have the internet i.e. when I go camping and have no cell phone reception?
Yes, just turn on your phones hot spot and put it in Bluetooth pairing mode, then turn off the hotspot and works great
So I ordered that black echo speaker and connected to my tv, but no sound comes out
Did you put it in pairing mode and then connected your tv to it?
I have only one Alexa but would like to hear the audio from the TV as well as Alexa this feature does not exist if you know how to make the audio come from the TV as well as Alexa let me know thank you
That's not going to happen. By connecting it to the bluetooth device, it takes it from the tv. One or the other.
@@CuriosityCafe that's what sucks most people only have one Alexa it would be a nice feature just saying
At the black friday prices, most people can afford a second if they want improved sound. Bought 10 for $14 each today
@@CuriosityCafe I hope you're right in this economy Merry Christmas to you I hope you have a good one

You can make it discoverable anytime with your voice from that point. Any time just like we did in the video
@@CuriosityCafe Thank you. So in essence you can just use the echo dot as a simple bluetooth speaker with a firetv without going thru the added steps of making it into a home theatre thingy on the app...
Not just a fire tv. Any device can connect to it.
@@CuriosityCafe thanks again; appreciate the video. subbed.
Will it work alongside a sound bar
Yes
Is it possible to add two speakers at the same time? I can do it with my cube on alexa app but not non amazon devices?
The grouping of speakers is an amazon alexa function. You can do it to any amazon product speaker (echo dot, echo studio, echo show, firestick, fire tv, etc).
@@CuriosityCafe but only amazon devices & speakers not Android ones? Many thanks 👍
Correct, for this video, yes. I'm sure Android has their own version of this with google. This video is about amazon products (firestick and echo)
@@CuriosityCafe thank you 👍
I’ve found this, in the past, to be unusable, as their is latency between the FireStick & the the echo speaker that throws of the lip sync from the movie to the speaker making it unwatchable
100% have not experienced this. I use the surround sound system for years. Works great

I use this method to play a rock station from Connecticut that won’t work with Alexa
Great idea

I had run over and mute alexa

Sorry, when I spell Alexa I get yelled at even more. Guess I can’t win with helping people
@@CuriosityCafe perhaps a solution would be at the start of the video to ask people to turn off the mic on their device.
Great idea
