(Sealed System) 2021 Nissan Sentra Transmission Fluid Flush

  • What's up, Team! Biggest part of the flush is making sure you get the right trans fluid. The CTV transmission in this 2021 Sentra takes NS-3, any other fluid will damage the transmission and shorten it's life span. Make sure the catch can is empty so you can pour it into a container with the units of measurement. This way you can put in exactly what you took out since there isn't a dipstick on this Sentra. But like I mentioned in the video, I was able to find one that fits. Link is below

    Dealer said they only drain and fill or flush with machine. They don't change filters. Parts were on back order at the time I talked to Nissan dealer, so I just drained and measured.

      Yes, they told me the same thing. The only time they replace the filters when they’re doing a rebuild on the transmission.

    I own 2022 Sentra 6 speed manual in Canada, it's a shame NISSAN USA ditched manual option for US buyers let's hope the rumour 2024 or 2025 Sentra Nismo 6 speed is offered to US buyers.........

    Amazon says the dipstick is incompatible with the 2021 sentra sr should i try it anyways?

      @@zsurvivalist7996 if it’s say it won’t fit I wouldn’t get that one. on Amazon when you looked at it it should of had an option for it to show you similar parts that’ll fit your car.

    Why the transmission fluid of this Sentra is pink? All Nissan CVT fluids are either green (NS2) and blue (NS3). It looks like somebody had the wrong transmission fluid before hand.

      @@sitienlieng I used the Castro ctv fluid not the Nissan brand ctv fluid. In the video I show this fluid is ctv fluid and is good for vehicle that need NS3 fluid.

    • @Ghost_Automotive_DIY

      Yes it is. The only difference would be the filters. I believe the 2015-2020 Sentra's only have the one filter in the pan.

    Should I just stick with a drain and refill or should I do a flush? Do you know how I would do a flush?

    • @Ghost_Automotive_DIY
      @Ghost_Automotive_DIY  Месяц назад

      Most of my clients do a fluid change. It doesn’t get all the oil out but refreshes the system if that makes sense. For a flush at home you’ll drain the the fluid. Once it’s drained you disconnect the return lines and put the line in a bucket or something that’ll caught the fluid. You turn the car on and let drain out. Once it’s done draining reconnect the lines then fill the transmission shifted no the gears every so often to get the fluid through the system. Me personally I’ve just done fluid changes every 60k miles on my vehicles

    Did you have any trouble re-installing the four bolts on the transmission cooler filter housing? My stepdaughter has a 2018 Nissan Murano and one of the bolts is a bit difficult to access and replace..

    • @Ghost_Automotive_DIY
      @Ghost_Automotive_DIY  6 месяцев назад

      Not really but I know the one on top closest to the transmission was a little difficult to get the socket on but still was not as bad as I thought it would be. Hand tighten the bolt first then got the socket on it

      Check with your manual book. I just drained the transmission fluid from my 2024 Sentra and I got 7 quarts out. The total fluid is about 7.4 quarts. Probably the new transmission design. Even though the Sentra 2024 look very similar to the previous models from 2020-2023, but the transmission pan and drain plug are different in 2024 model.

    What about the rest of old fluid in the radiator and torque converter?

    • @sitienlieng
      @sitienlieng 6 дней назад

      in Sentra 2024, you can drain out 7 quarts by removing the drain plug. The total volume should be 7.4 quarts. Probably the new transmission design makes it more efficient to drain out 95% of fluid. The drain plug and fluid pan in Sentra 2024 is also different.

    Any reason why this part wasn't changed? Transmission Oil Filter 31728-28X0A

    • @Ghost_Automotive_DIY
      @Ghost_Automotive_DIY  8 месяцев назад +1

      The filter was changed, I believe you’re talking about the strainer (as Nissan calls it). At the time of the service we were told it needed to be ordered. The owner decided to proceed with the service. When we do the next service on the transmission I’ll make sure it’s ordered before hand.

    How to check fluid level plz ?!

    • @Ghost_Automotive_DIY
      @Ghost_Automotive_DIY  5 месяцев назад

      There’s 2 ways.First way is to pour the fluid you removed into a container that has the measurements on it, like an empty 5 quart oil container. Once you see the measurement on the container, that’s how much up put back in. The second way is to get an aftermarket dipstick to check the level, as you would if it wasn’t a sealed system. There’s a link in the description for one.
