What You Probably Never Knew About Chadwick Boseman

- It's hard to remember that there was a time when most people didn't know the meaning of "Wakanda forever!" But few anticipated that Chadwick Boseman's regal performance would help to make a massive hit of Black Panther. Turns out, the real-life man was just as interesting as the king he portrayed.
Chadwick Boseman, who became one of the brightest stars of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, was an actor as believable in high-octane action scenes as he was depicting the solemn duties of a nation's leader.
While the character had been around for decades, it was Boseman's legendary performance as the King of Wakanda that made Black Panther a household name. And so it was a brutal shock to the world when news hit of his unexpected passing at the age of 43. According to a statement released by his family, Boseman died after a brave four-year fight with colon cancer.
By far his best-known movie as a lead actor, Black Panther changed the world when it premiered in 2018. With great reviews, award nominations, and over a billion dollars at the box office, the movie took superhero cinema to adventurous new heights. Within weeks of the movie's premiere, Boseman went from being a lesser-known character actor to a bona fide, worldwide cultural icon.
But Black Panther wasn't Boseman's first time playing a world-changing hero. Before he stepped into T'Challa's royal sandals, he was depicting the all-time greats of music, sports, and lawmaking.
Boseman's first starring role came in 2013, when he portrayed the legendary Jackie Robinson in the baseball biopic 42. He followed this up a year later with another biography, Get On Up, in which he brought the electric skill of singer James Brown to life. Three years later, he once again slipped effortlessly into an iconic figure's skin when he played lawyer (and later, Supreme Court Justice) Thurgood Marshall in 2017's Marshall.
Though some of his Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars might have had longer careers than Boseman before they joined the sprawling franchise, no one had more experience playing real-life heroes. Keep watching the video to see what you probably never knew about Chadwick Boseman.

He will be greatly missed. Rip Chadwick.
He’s a Legend!! Even the director Ryan didn’t know that he had cancer..he did 9 films while suffering with cancer..such a legendary person!!
RIP black panther
Rip BP Chadwick WAKANDA FOREVER 🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾
Stop monetising these videos about his death. This shit is scummy
Stop exploiting his passing
I rarely feel much when a celebrity pass, but this one. I felt this one. Wakanda Forever
Same, i keep watching him on youtube over and over again. I cant get over this, 2020 has had me numb. smh
I love this young man ad if he were a close relative of mine. He was a genius at what he did. A stellar artist.
Wakanda Forever !
What a body of work in such a short time. And inspiring as hell. Tough man, working through that and never showing defeat, fear or sadness. He should get a Hollywood star just for that. Rest in piece, sir.
My gosh he wore those African outfits like a real KING. Rest on gentle soul.
His death really was a shock to me and still having a hard time accepting he is gone. His legacy for sure will live on for sure and it kind of parallels to a scene from Marvel Animation's The Rise of Black Panther when T'Chaka shows his young son T'Challa the hall of Kings, his grandfathers that took the mantle of the Black Panther and to me he belongs in that hall of Kings.
to pay respects to him i will watch black panther again
Remember his heroicness
The questions I would have liked to ask Chadwick are:-
"How do you live your life as if today is your last day?" How do you stick to the script inspite of a painful and life threatening reality? Truly this is a man whose reliance was on a higher power.....a supreme being. He was on a mission and he knew he didn't have much time. We are all on a mission. How much time do we have? Do we know? The strength and courage Chadwick demonstrated down to his last breath, is indescribable. We all know our days are numbered, but for Chadwick, he had a clock on his life. He could hear the clock ticking louder and louder for four long years, every day, every minute, every second. And though you and I would have literally stopped living - fallen in depression, cower in fear and host endless pity parties, Chadwick chose a life of service, even giving to children who were suffering from a similar pain. He was deliberate in his efforts to live a meaningful life down to his last hour, therefore leaving a rich legacy behind. I'm truly grateful to you for this gift you have given me Chad. I'm truly inspired by your strength, motivated by your dedication, empowered by your commitment, enamored by the power of your smile despite your pain, enchanted by your performance and your love for humanity- putting service above self even in the face of death. I love you Chadwick Boseman. You have taught me the true meaning of strength. Your legacy lives on. RIP my love🙏.

Loved that proud sexy walk of his! What a wonderful individual. Just find it hard to accept his departure from this life.
One thing to know is he was huge in China. I think he received a plaque from them for being their most popular actor even though he wasn't from there.
R.I.P
we will never hear him say "wakanda forever"
We will always hear him say "Wakanda Forever". That is the point of achieving a masterpiece as a comedian, my friend. I am sad as your are. But life and death are closer than we can understand yet. "Pity the living, and above all, those who live without love".

His performance in Black Panther was one of the best acting jobs I’ve ever seen.
It is unbelievable that he was battling cancer.
It will never get easier. Such a tragic loss...
Such a warrior, fought through cancer without telling anyone and always gave back. R.I.P Chadwick, gone but never forgotten, your legacy will live on.
This is one of the most thorough backstories on Chadwick Boseman I've seen. Very informative!
I've never cried for an actor before. But when I heard it hit like it was my brother..even watching carry tears. So much respect and representation for us. I know there are tons of great/G.O.A.T but I would like to add him to that line up.
I will meet this young man in Heaven one day because I truly believe he got saved before he died. God has a reason and time for everything to happen even the exact moment we are born and the exact moment we die.
May Chadwick Boseman rest in pease knowing that he made such a tremendous impact on the world. RIP🙏🏽🙏🏽🍾

A true legend 🙌🏿
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭Long Live Chadwick Boseman!!!!!
Recasting him isn't what they should do. They should pass the mantle on to someone else. There's a reason recasting a character doesn't happen much these days. Likely because of how wrong and awkward it looks and feels to put someone with a completely different face as a character that another actor brought to life and burned into everyone's minds and hearts and how it just doesn't feel the same. Chadwick was no exception. Add his death on top of that and it looks disrespectful to recast the role. I think most would much rather the character get a beautiful send off. It would be the best possible way to do it. Even use some CG of Chadwick's likeness for an afterlife scene or dream sequence or something.
Recasting Tchalla should only happen whenever the MCU is over or rebooted and ready to make a new version of the character. Not this version. There are certain characters no one would ever dare recasting after the death of the actor and I'd say Tchalla was one of them.
Thats literally what screen buzz suggested in one of their vids
I agree but I feel that recasting Black Panther isn’t disrespectful but it’s just passing Chadwick Boseman’s legacy on. But it’s too early to say. RIP Chadwick Boseman 😢😢
@Terrence Bryant maybe thats what Marvel is gonna do

@Terrence Bryant My son said the same thing. Maybe they will stay true to the Comics.

Chadwick Boseman
Rest In Peace Thank You for showing me the the kinda of man I want to be. Thank you for showing the world that a superhero can look like me. We are suppose to grow up and past the concept of superhero dreams aside. I refuse .. I wear my heart on my sleeve and the ability to still believe in love, dignity , honor in world that has told me not to. I have at times fallen short of my own code, but with you're passing I know I can never give up . Thank You ... I must be my own hero, but the the movies you done reminds me the power of Art in all it's forms. Rest In Peace Brother. Wakanda 4 Ever
BLM No Justice No Peace

Wow, Chadwick had a massive family!
This was so touching to watch. I couldn't make it without crying.
I’m still crying 😭😭😭😭 no ways💔
The first thing I remember seeing him in was a show called Lincoln Heights. It was some time before he blew up. It was a very humble recurring role he had for maybe less than a season. Little did I know just a short time after that I would end up seeing a promo of a film called 42 with him as the leading man and then from there the rest is history.
I first remember him from a small role in Justified as one of Limehouse’s associates.
Rest in Power
We have lost a really great legand chanwig Bosman you will be missed
I enjoyed this Chadwick Boseman video biography. Small correction: Chad was introduced to Phylicia Rashad by Professor Vera J. Katz at Howard University when Professor Katz invited Rashad to do a workshop at Howard. She was impressed with his talent as an undergrad, and that was how the mentoring relationship began. Thank you for sharing the arc of Chadwick Boseman's life and career.
LONG LIVE THE KING
Legend!!!

It's a trip...2020 started super crappy with my front end manager at work, dying of colon cancer. So this extra sucks.
Wakandda forever
Rest In Peace
Very good
Sad 😔 RIP
WAKANDA FOREVER!!!!
RIP
I'm crying guys 😭😭
After what happened every time I see his face i see some sadness and pain🤷🏻♂️. May be just me.
I've watched countless interviews & see what I perceive as reflection, perhaps a hint of tiredness, but not sadness. Only when he spoke of the two little boys with terminal cancer did I see sadness. What I mainly see is a shining example of how to live gracefully and graciously. We're all different and that's ok.
I saw some pain in his eyes and expressions at times now I understand why..Thought I was the only one who saw that. Sometimes sadness , some questions hit home at times was very hard to answer, he knew he was dying....so sad.
Me too
Wakanda 🙅 Forever 😔😥
