When Trevor says “For the rest of your life you’ll be greeted that way.”, who knew that would only be two short years. Rest in Power King
That totally got me too. So sad.
that sentence hits different now.... but ill make sure to greet him that way when my times comes
That line hits me in the gut now.
When I heard him say that, I felt it 😞

Props to his close friends and family. They didn't let any info slip for 4 years; they ride and die for Chadwick and I respect the heck out of that loyalty.
Same thing I told my cousin. He had some good people around him, because no one in his team leaked the story. Major props to them!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I just had this conversation with my family. That's LOYALTY and that's rare today.

SAME! HE DEFINITELY HAD GREAT LOVED ONES AROUND HIM ❤

The hero of his incredible story: Love and light to him, and thanks and praises. It's devastating that he's gone.
Man, thanks for that!!
He didn't play the role of Black Panther, he was Black Panther.

I don't think any male person should be cast in that role for the next 10 years, I think he is irreplaceable because he is the black panther
@@IrwinNoel i agree completely. Even if they do cast someone it won't be anyone like him

Well Stated Geusan. RIP Our True African King Chadwick
@DMoney Industry u don't define royalty for us. Stay out of Wakanda business!
Marvel shouldn’t recast him, he played the role of Black Panther to perfection. RIP to a legend
Edit: I don’t believe Marvel should stop the story of the Black Panther, it should be passed onto Shuri, maybe Okoye, W’kabi or even a movie set in the future where a CGI older T’Challa passes the role to his son
I completely agree. No one can bring us T'Challa like Chadwick. He was an absolute legend and a Titan in the marvel industry to be this landmark
Matt Aylward I think they could make a movie focused on Shuri as the main character
I agree. NOBODY can play that role. He made it his own. He careful on how he wanted to portrayed the character, he was wonderful.
No one can replace king 👑 T.Chala
Yes, but money talks. If Disney can bring in another billion dollars by recasting him, thats what they Will do.
I don't think I can finish watching this, I am so saddened...this guy wasn't just the Black Panther...he was James Brown and Jackie Robinson...iconic figures.
and add Thurgood Marshall to the list of iconic figures of Black Panther, James Brown and Jackie Robinson.
What you said is very true! It's so SAD to lose such incon. My heart aches and still can't believe it.
He is such a icon and gone too soon!😭😭😭 We'll miss you! RIP Chadwick Boseman! Black panther, 42..
Even though your time on earth was 43 years, it was indeed an honor and privilege to share such iconic, unbelievable, life-changing experiences with you through your movies. Though I miss you with all my heart and soul, I find comfort in knowing you are not in pain and suffering anymore. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Praying sincere prayers for your wife and family. With LOVE
I think of Chadwick Boseman everyday especially on Fridays since his death...I hurt deeply for this magnificent artist...he is definitely God sent...he conquered all his dreams and as much as I wish so hard he could live a long life..his mission was completed..love you forever Chadwick...Wakanda Forever🙏🏾🕊❤
Cant grasp how he worked diligently with such a horrific cancer...so painful..with surgeries..chemo..the fatigue..nausea...etc
I worked Hospice for yrs as a nurse with cancer patients. I sat with them crying thru the pain..on morphine..and pain still riddling their body. How the hell did he do it??
That strength alone..and telling no one..is way more heroic than any person he played.
Blown away by how he accomplished so much at a time when laying in bed would have been feasible.
Amazing young man.
de marullo Having nursed my husband through only 3 months of diagnosed pancreatic cancer, I agree with you. I don’t know how he did it! I am just in awe.
God bless you for your service!
I agree...wow so dignified!!😞
And he was diagnosed with Stage 3.....from the moment he found out, his fate was almost sealed. But instead of doing what do many before him did and just fall into a state of depression and understandably so, he didn't. He chose to rise above it. He chose to live his life instead of focus on his death. I lost my father at a young age to lung cancer, the struggle just to live on a daily basis. He did it all with a smile and care for everyone......like a true King.
It was his DESIRE and his BELIEF in GOD’S STRENGTH that sustained him!!
Black Panther was made for Him. He made me so proud watching that film. Gone but Never forgotten!

Chadwick Boseman represented so much to the black community. He portrayed many prominent figures from our culture. The first black professional baseball player in Jackie Robinson. The first black supreme court justice in Thurgood Marshall. The king of soul in his role as James Brown. Then the King of Wakanda in T'Challa the Black Panther. A movie that showed an absolute empowering representation of black people. Not criminals, drug dealers, slaves, weak, poor people. But royalty, self sustaining, super hero, strong, independent, powered people. He played powerful roles to the people of our community and to our children. He was such a great actor as well, not a poor one in his potrayel. This was so sad and shocking to find out. Rest in power Chadwick #Wakandaforever
Beautifully said friendo. I've loved so many of his movies.....such talent and humility, from a true king.

Now that we know T'Challa was sick even during this interview, you can observe the man closely and look at his hands, fingers, his face, forefront, neck and wonder how far the cancer was destroying his body from inside. This man was Very Very Strong to play all the movies and shoot Black Panther. He cheated us man in a good way and I like that the press didn't get even the slimmest idea that T'Challa sick and destroy his peace with stupid papers about his health. You live forever Chadwick Boseman Tchalla. You touched people in the world the way nobody else could do. I always wanted to be an actor but I struggled with thinking if I was going to be good at it because I thought of this very same principle. Can I find these characters within myself? And what happens if I can't?

It definitely works as a handshake replacement post-Covid.

A perfect COVID 19 greeting too.
When he said, "be the hero in you own story" ...he already knew his chapter was gonna be short. And continued anyway...that's strength!
He had Stage III cancer during this interview and not a single person watching at the time knew about it. That takes strength, Rest In Peace, King.
Definition of a real king
And I'm one of them,Rip King!!
If he told us that he had colon cancer we would worry about him and I don’t think he wanted us to worry about him.
The fact that it was kept quiet, meant that he acted all his MCU scenes himself (likely his most physical role thus far), with and without the mask. The waterfall fight in BP against Winston Duke and Michael B Jordan, you can't watch that and think that guy was going through chemo...
Much respect to the guy for doing all that whilst dealing with chemo and surgeries. I wonder how many people on set knew that something was up? He had been quite busy since his diagnosis, I don't see much downtime for rest and recovery...
Yeah. My mother died of cancer and I watched her go through chemo and surgeries. It takes a lot out of you. Mad respect to him for never letting it show and working so hard.
@@misspriss2482 every time I complain bout aches and pains I will always think of people battling cancer and they strength they possess...I will never complain again...and so sorry for your loss my friend

One of the best comments in this thread ❤️ Well said 👏🏽
God, hearing Trevor say “for the rest of your life,” imagine as a person who knows they have Stage 3 cancer hearing that. You don’t know for certain where your life is heading in any sense. I am so sadden by this loss but I am thankful his family and him were able to have some privacy. Meaning they got to release to news on their own term, rather than his illness and pain be leaked before they were ready.

What the fuck man. The ONE black superhero. Dead. How is that fair. How is there a “god” that does everything for a reason. Everything happens for a reason is not a thing. I am just amazed at how he lived with this cancer for 4 years and accomplished so much without revealing to the public that he was sick. He didnt want anyone’s pity, he wanted to be remembered for his amazing works not his sickness, and that’s exactly what he will remembered for, his work! What a strong man he was even stronger than his character Black Panther💪🏽😀
Although I was far too young at the time but his situation reminds me of Freddy Mercury. Lived with a sickness for years with only the closest of people knowing the real deal. Deciding live out his days doing things he loved.

The last sentence of the interview sums it up for me as to why Chadwick's brilliance will be missed. This movie blurred the lines of origins and tribalism by way of opening a portal where all Blacks in, around and out of the diaspora could relate as one. It also allowed other person's of color to invision their own narrative of their own unique Wakanda no artistic body of work has ever done that before.
As a 54 year old Black women blessed to have both of my parents, all eleven of my siblings, five adult children, countless nephews / nieces and grandchildren. I feel as though my family offers a great cross section of Blackness in America , Each of us offer a broad eclectic mix of backgrounds and experiences across the entire socioeconomic paradigm. Yet not one of us have ever had that feeling of oneness or acceptance here in our own country. Briefly with Obama's inaugural election and then again with George Floyd's protests which I believe the euphoria of unity was purposely preempted. However with each instance we would loosen our grip on the handle of the emotional baggage we each had inherited from our ancestors and our own personal experiences. The greater hope was that we were finally able to let our baggage go. Why not, in both instances white men/ women and various races from around the globe lent their collective voices an aligned with our their activism. Yet again it wasn't our time.
The telling thing with Chadwick that set him apart was he had a unique gift for storytelling which he did so masterfully, allowing the audience to completely submerge ourselves into his narrative. What further made him an enigma, he completed the last seven or eight films after his diagnosis and never once complaining or allowing no one to know of his own personal battle. Whomever he had on his team I need on mine. They knew that their silence would allow him to walk in his purpose so they kept his confidence. God please bless each of them. His death reenforce the old adage of giving the person their roses while they're with us hit home. His silenced allowed him to leave on his own terms. It was at that moment that he was no longer that we realized that the world had lost a great talent.
Chadwick's talent allowed each of us to continue to preserve onward just a bit more in a country that has continually shown us that our presence is not wanted. Blacks in America are a nomadic people and made to feel that burden daily . We have no language or origin to speak of, but for a moment in 2018 we had a mythical nation of our own Wakanda and Chadwick was our king. His death may have caught us all by surprise but th body of work he left behind will help ease his absence eventually.

I wonder what makes someone put thumbs down for a man who existed every day trying to be the best man he could be black or white
Cruel world we live in. He's definitely in a better place...
I wonder the same thing!! #fckdUpWorld
Right..I believe it's self hate and they can't handle the outpouring of love & respect being shown.
You don’t understand the nature of these devils and their views towards black people if you don’t understand why there are thumbs down on this video. Let’s just focus on how much we love this brother and ourselves. What they think, doesn’t matter. 👊🏾
People have hate in their heart. It's that hate that stop generations from progressing.
This just shows that we never really know the struggles people are going through or the path they walking, let’s not be too quick to judge and hate others. Rest In Peace king. 🇰🇪
You are Kenyan? ☺
@@deevad1286 I am.😁

Thank you. Very well said!

Who would imagine that he was sick during this interview? Rest in power King T'Chala
May the man who played Black Panther, Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, and so many other roles rest in peace❤️ Representing well, love goes to his friends and family❤️ Wakanda Forever
Thank you for mentioning some of his other deep magnificent portrayals. I just watched 42. It moved me to tears. Such a nuanced Strong performance. Now I'll watch Marshall.
Trevor: *Wakanda greeting*
Chadwick: I didnt expect you to do that!
Trevor: What do you mean? .... Everywhere you go now for the rest of your life you will be greeted like that!
Me: *tears up*
even Trevor didnt think this would happen..in retrospective Chadwick Boseman's reply of you are not lying, sounds now different, cos now its clear that he was knowing that his life could end in a fairly short time.. maybe its just me, and i over think it..
Teared up so bad on that line, Man 2020 Sucks so bad.

I agree with you 100%. It's an Irony looking at it now. I marvel at his strength to have filmed so many movies during his illness. May be rest in power and blessings and love to his family. I'm just heartbroken.

Trevors first sentence being "you will be received like this for the rest of your live"
Me: knowing it's true and crying like a baby
Yeah that kinda hit home.
Indeed!
Me too
I keep crying actual tears over this. Never met the man. But my heart is so hurt that he is gone. You're still our hero Chad.
He truly is, was, and always will be the King of Wakanda.
Knowing that at this moment he was fighting cancer, and he’s still smiling
That made me sad
Class, power and strength personified

His family was ride or die. They kept his illness private. Props to them

WE ethiopians feel sad, because the movie was our history. R.I.P
As a Black male who grew up reading marvel comic books and instantly fell in love with the MCU, the death of Chadwick Boseman, and by extension his rendition of the Black Panther, is really hard for me.
I loved watching his films as an escape from this world and he was so inspirational to so many people. It wasn’t just his role as a Black superhero but rather his role as the future of the entire MCU.
I look forward to seeing more of the Black Panther and more of Chadwick’s other films. I will miss this iconic actor more so than any other actor 😢
I hope his family is finding peace and comfort. May he rest in power.

@@malirabbit6228 It is a quote from the Civil War movie. T'challa said that to Black Widow after the assassination of his father....

Rest In Peace
Thank You for showing me the kinda man I want to be. Thank you for showing the world that a superhero can look like me. We are supposed to grow up and pass the concept of superhero dreams aside. I refuse. I wear my heart on my sleeve and the ability to still believe in love, dignity, and honor in a world that has told me not to. I have at times fallen short of my code, but with you're passing I know I can never give up. Thank You ... I must be my own hero, the movies you did reminds me of the power of Art in all its forms. Rest In Peace Brother.

I really love Trevor's interviews! He is so knowledgeable of all his guests and ask the right questions. Chadwick seemed so humble and had a beautiful spirit! No superficial Hollywood flash. He will be missed!

Amen! We all have strength to do what's needed but some of us go above and beyond. Thank you for your comment. God bless Chadwick Boseman ❤
Hearing Trevor Noah say, "for the rest of your life" gives a completely different outlook. Like wow. Way too soon and way too young. Seemed like a person with good character, morals, and integrity. Chad really Seemed like such a good person.
"You be the hero, in your story..." -Chadwick Boseman, ...such a simple, yet profound statement, thanks for that.
Several celebrities have passed whose death made me say "oh my God" but this one touched my heart. This young man always seemed so humble and endearing. His smile was infectious and his performances almost made you forget he was acting. He embodied each and every role he played. Even little kids looked at him with admiration. Black Panther was probably his most prolific film but Get On Up was my favorite. I don't think anyone else could have captured James Brown's essence quite like Chadwick. He was and forever will be the personification of a true Black king both on and off screen as well as an inspiration to the world. To quietly battle through such pain while bringing joy into this crazy world and still be a master at his craft says so much about his character and his strength. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Mr. Boseman's family and friends. May God comfort them and bring peace into there lives.
Well said!!! Love 💘 this comment

mspookie You have written a beautiful, heartfelt tribute to Mr. Boseman. Thank you for these kind words. I couldn't have said it better. I can only add my condolences to his friends, family and all of his fans.
He is the most humblest man on earth,
You can see in his eyes that he respects everyone.

“You pray to God for help, but he still expects you to do something” - no need for church this Sunday, that summed it up! Go out and be a great human...
Let me put this in perspective. The way he handled this was pure selflessness on his part. Life, is an unbelievable great ride and only a few of us can really understand this. Chadwick Boseman understood this, he wanted to live life the way he wanted to live it and let the cancer do its thing without succumbing to it(letting it win). He was in full control of it until he had no more to oversee it. He is the optime of every qoute on life there is. He embodied the form of life's Philosophy like no other and he did it right in front of us(his fan/audience).
Thank you Mr. Boseman(actor/Producer/writer/director) for everything and you will be remembered in our lifetime and our childrens lifetime and most Definitely in our children Children's lifetime. Rest In Power my brother.
The strongest, most humbled actor I've ever witnessed. When he smiled and laughed, I felt more and more comfortable and confident to smile with my gap. This man will be remember with only positive and kind words and moments. This man was good. And now, he is at peace. It sucks, but he is not suffering anymore. And we should look at it in that positive perspective, because I strongly believe he'd want us to.
That's beautiful, knowing the beautiful soul that we know him to be, he would have definitely have loved to hear that.
Chadwick is one of the greatest people in the world. And I don’t think he had any idea how great he was. He was too humble. To be hailed and praised as he was and yet he never became conceited speaks volumes for him as a person. I wish he was still with us.
He lived truly. He was on a mission. He saw death as the deadline.
