higher pitch spacebar is nice. sadly the CEM3 that came with my 722 was my first solder board and i messed it up and at the time the galatea CEM3 werent sold by US vendors yet. maybe ill pick one up to change things up.
nice comparison... perfect timing for f1 8x v2 group buy! still deciding between fr4 and cem 3 for plateless option. i'm worried cem 3 will sound too thin plateless especially after hearing this sound test, what are your thoughts? i definitely prefer the spacebar for the cem 3 but alphas sound weaker to me
Hard to tell how it will sound since it depends on your switches and keycaps. You also have options on where to put those plateless contact points. You could always just clip in switches and wait to solder until you find a sound you like. Also can swap the spacebar switch with a long pole if you’re looking for it to sound different.
QMX has much tighter tolerances so they are way easier to tune so that they don’t rattle or tick. Also the wires are fully covered, so it helps with pet hair if you have any furry friends.

do you feel the flex of cem-3 even with the alu 1.1 plate?
I think if you're paying attention you can tell a difference, but the plate will always make a bigger difference than PCB material.

I want an F1-8X so bad. I can hear the difference and I think I like the sound of the CEM3 more than the FR4.
