Thank you for this video! Been searching for a direct comparison between these 3 lights. So awesome that you were able to also compare them with the diffusers😎 Again, thank you.
Best video comparison yet. The real question is are these lights worth you changing your light setup now to the radion g5? Also do you think the kessil are better?
Thx, depend on what light you have. For me from A360WE to Radion G5 Pro, yes it's an upgrade, but is it worth it? No, no reason to spend that much money for just switching. It's a little bit like Apple to Orange.
Hola.tengo radion xr 15 g5 blue en acuario mixto lps y sps. El acuario es de 100 litros con el programa sps ab+. Que intensidad me recomiendas?.gracias y saludos.
Just got a XR15 Pro and comparing it with my Kessil A360X. I don't have a diffuser yet but definetely need one, the pixelization is hurting my eyes. People who say they don't need the diffuser are either blind or haven't seen a well blending light on their tank.
Received the diffuser today. The pixelization is gone but surprisingly the light blinds me more when sitting on the couch. I saw people writing that the diffuser was better for their eyes sitting on the couch but unfortunately this is not the case for me!
I also feel that with the diffuser you lose a little bit of brilliancy in the coloring, it's getting a little bit more dull. You can't compensate it with upping the par but maybe i'm seeing ghosts here. So overall i'm not sure if the diffuser is a keeper. It has downsides.
@@Harolddespui I also got the diffuser for my xr30 a few days ago, i feel it's much easier on the eyes and blends the colors well. I replaced my kessil too, i kind of miss the shimmer but i had to upgrade to a better light to grow sps. My LFS was advising me to take off the lens cover and put the diffuser on but just seems like strange advice to me.
@@ky5785 The XR15 with the diffuser gives the perfect amount of shimmer to me. The Kessil was over the top. The (G5) XR30 and XR15 do not have the same shimmer by the way. The XR30 has less because it's a bigger led surface.
Very helpful video. Thank you! I'm getting back into reefing after 8 years. I'm chasing the metal halide look. I'm stuck between a radion XR15 G5 or a Kessil A360X. Both would be with an aqualife T5 hybrid. I'm worried the kessil will be too much shimmer, but worried the radions will have that fake static look. What would you go with?
@@AquaSplendor Do you think the radion has better color? Based on your t5 hybrid videos, the radion looks a lot more crisp and colorful than the kessil a360W
Your video reviews are the best. It’s perplexing to me you would even need a diffuser with an $800.00 light. Nice job screwing your customers again, Radion!
Hmm this is interesting, I'm planning on upgrading my gen3 pros for my new build and I was worried about the shimmer effect because of the new non spotlight design of the g5, problem is I can't find any new gen 4s now only used lol.... then there is the kessil a360x to consider as well but I wish they offered a diffuser like they did with the ap700...
@@AquaSplendor my tank has a lot of surface agitation, do you think I will still get a decent amount of shimmer with the gen 5 pro? I just dont want to buy four of them and find out i prefer the look of my gen 3s.... that would be a hard pill to swallow haha
@@AquaSplendor yea im sorry i still dont get it I've had the radions for half a year now. For example i have my point intensity at 100 with all colors at 100 but i keep my schedule intensity at 40% for a 40gallon reef cube. Is that ideal?
@@chaitern6075 Yeah totaly, it doesn't matter if you set at 100% in schedule with color or the overall intensity at 100%, it is the same thing, it's just one give you an overall control to bring down or up to their max or minimum possible. Your fine with this at 40% (I think)
I just put them on my radions, not sure I will let them, maybe better for the corals? But visual I found everything is more dark and the colors are less shiny what I don't like, I was thinking improving the colors not less. Are you sur for you the colours are really better?and for this small shit of paper and the cheap quality of the diffuser, the price is a shame.
epic video - BRS seems to think it's not necessary but it's such a small loss in PAR if (when) i get an XR15 Blue I will probably order the diffuser with it.
Nop, I purposely didn't put the information on where I was measuring it, the height of the light. Most RUclipsr Add PAR information wrongly that can potentially hurt corals because of the bad interpretation from viewer. By simply adding PAR value without specific details I focus the message I want the people to focus on which is the comparison Pro vs blue vs diffuser and nothing else. Also usually they do it for to get view or just to get the companies on their side which is not my intention.
@@AquaSplendor I get ya - but just use the %'s then - I heard those Blues at 100% put out well over 600PAR and that you REALLY need a PAR meter to use them. So you are probably right not to give out real numbers but maybe some newbie will think they are not that strong ;)
Best reviews channel on RUclips. That kessil looks more natural and beautiful. Thanks
Yes they look great, but where they have weakness is where the radion are strong 😉. Both light are really good.
Thanks for the review! I always appreciate your sense of humor! 😆👍

put all color at 100% and then diminish the overall intensity, what intensity I Don't know but it's something around 40 to 90% probably.

Hybrid Aquatic life with T5 and Kessil 360 probably gives the most natural look that almost mimics Metal Halide.

@K Y For human eyes no, Kessil is better on that side. AI prime Hd16 Is also better than Radion G5 Pro from human eyes perspective.

Because they want your $800 AND $36 dollars!!
hi, why there is so much par difference g4 vs g5 with diffusers ? it has to do with older model diffusers on G4 ? or G5 better leds than g4?
I never tested g4 so can't answer for certainties but I would assume is the diffuser material and method use to measure.
What do you use to hang your Kessil A360X?
I don't have a Kessil A360X, but aquatic life hybrid fixture
What light setting do you use radion during video shoot? Do you use lenses and what kind of lens?
Light settings should be indicate on top corners depending on the shot. Yes I use lens, hard to record without them ;), 24,50,90mm
So which would you say has the best shimmer effect.... gen 4 pro with diffuser or gen 5 with diffuser?
The G4

Yes, depending on your light model make the adjustment of intensity to get back the PAR (6 to 9%)
I love disco - and the toilet bit was too much ;)
Wait - 100% intensity on an XR15 and you are getting only 120PAR - that has to be an error right?
