For those making DIY diffusers, try using a Fresnel lense. May have to play with the distance from the LED diodes but it will spread the light out without losing as much par as frosted diffusers cause. They sell sheets with multiple small Fresnel lenses on one sheet or one giant lense, either should work. Don't use the large single lense for single COB diodes because it will cause a hot spot if the distance from the lense is just right.
hey thanks i aprecciate that and thanks for your videos iam having issues with my nutrients nitrates 0 so iam about to dose potassium nitrate how big is your tank?
nmjhd1234 concern was that you lose a bit of par with the 120 wide angle lenses; and i was concerned that I would lose too much par if I stacked the diffuser on top of the wide lenses; too inefficient
AmroAzul TV you shld swap and try it out see what it looks like and see how it compare. Maybe itll even look better but only downside is more consumption in electricity. Just my two cents.
mitojo60 good question. I don’t know for sure, but my guess is that if you are following their instructions to remove the cover and install the diffuser, then it shouldn’t influence the warranty
Reefsimply have a look here at my schedule ruclips.net/video/qHjOROzJSB0/видео.html I did turn down the intensity to 60% since swapping into the 80 deg lens and diffuser... I think I am 8 to 10” above water

Victor Fox nice tip
Very nice review. Your the second person i've heard from about the quality. Bubba said his came scratched. I've been considering these for the XR30's.
Reefkpr thanks. Yes it’s not the best build or attention to details, but the optical performance is impressive in my opinion
I ordered diffusers. Thanks for the awesome videos.
thanks John
Nice video! Thanks for doing this.

65 gal or 250 L; but with the rock work, i guess i only have about 210 L
so are you running the lights now with the 120 angle lens with the diffuser as welll ?
no, diffusers + stock 80deg lenses
How come you didnt leave the 120 degree lense on? Wouldnt the diffuser spread the light even better with even less disco ball effect? Great review btw

nmjhd1234 good points. I may do a par test with all 4 combinations of light (2 lenses, diffusers on vs off)
AmroAzul TV that would be awesome to know buddy. Goodjob again with a clear concise review
you asked for it; here it is! ruclips.net/video/G9Tn2n7zzlA/видео.html

Hi does opening the light unit void the warranty of the radion

hi there what intensity are you running your light and how many inches above the water you have them set up?

They need something like this for the AI Hydra HDs
Also check out this review with an analysis of how the diffuser affects PAR on both the 80 and 120 degree lens
Waste of money
