I can’t believe you didn’t go blind by the end of this video. As I remember when I accidentally turned on the G4 PRO and was staring at the light and that light had me blind for a few seconds. But as always Dev that’s great info and comparison of the two lights..

I would really like to see you move them to the ends and then pump both up to 100% and snap a pic for reference. That way we can see the difference. Being side by side might be a little too close since they will want to blend slightly and that can skew the human eye.
Ill prob just unplug one at a time and snap a pic then show side by side.. tricky to do with the camera trying to compensate to show true to life

I think you were mixing up the pro/blue when looking at the individual colors as limes are on the blue, and greens are on the pro. That said good review, I wish I could just take one of each home and see how they look over MY tank in particular to decide.
Side by side of them both at 100% all channels over the tank :)

Personally I prefer the AI Hydras for the ease of use in the app and the hyperdrive capabilities, and of course a friendly price.
I’ve been running XR30 Blues since their release, but recently really considering swapping over to pros. Had Radions since Gen3 and always AB but I can’t help but feel the Blues AB is over poweringly blue

I cant decide! LOL. I love the blue in the evening and whitter in the afternoon, but the blus plus program is known for growing corals fast and all i have is frags! I also like the fact that blue has 2 colors that pro dosnt and thats the cyan and several of the big names are using cyan now. I know you said you can get pro to do blue plus and you can get a crisp whiter out of blue but seems there wil be difference like lime and cyan. I heard lime takes the place of white as well. I really feel the blue has to much blue and not enough white and pro has to much white and not enough blue and cyan, lime. They could have taken the best of both and made one great light! I would love to try both out and return one but not suppose to do that lol and I could get stuck with one! I am surprised you choose pro being you run ab plus
If you like the whiter look in the day get the pros. It gives you a cool crisp white while still getting nice vibrant colors.. its a great look . I have it go to more an AB+ later in the day :)

Hey Devin, finally got the XR15 pro, after your review. Great light. Investing into the future. Still at a 40 gallon. Will upgrade to a 60-100 gallon shallow reef next.
Best part is it can grow with you and you won’t have to upgrade it later!
How many radions XR15 Blue G5 do you think i need for a mixed reef tank that is (L) 91in x (W) 28in x (H) 22in ?

Haha yes. If you are all about the blue light go for blues. If you appreciate whiter crisp look as well as the black light party blues then for the pros. Gives you a little more flexibility with the best of both worlds.

xNihilObstat I love them. I love that I can have a whiter crisper look for part of the day and still have that vibrant color pop from my corals. It’s a very nice look! I think I’ll make a video and share my schedule this week. I have had lots ask me for it
Great video as always! If you had a 4x2x2 SPS only tank, would you go with 3 XR15s or 2 XR30s? G5’s of course!
3x xr30s for full sps, 2 will do it but 3 would even that high par all the way across. I have 2 of the new blues on a 4'x28"×16" and it is plenty at 40%. Super bright
At 24 deep you kinda right on the line of going either way. Really either option will work well! I
I enjoyed the setup demonstration. I’m using Red Sea’s ReefLED 90 and the set up is terrible.
Using all channels on 100% on a g5 blue still looks white not blue with all presets including the AB+ presets. What are the best settings to achieve a blue look on the G5 Blue lights?
Thank you for putting up the video, I got the xr30 blue was trying to adjust colors with xr30 gen 4 I was having hard time I got a end up selling my gen 4 n get a another blue my sps not doing that good, I use to use AI 52 my sps like that since I sold the 52 and got this blue they are dieing what type of tank you got RedSea reefer 525 xl I got the same tank really nice running fugium another section I am running a calcium reactor
Corals don’t like change and tend to take a bit to adapt. Did you match the par when you swapped lights?
ReefDudes as you know the G5’s setting you cannot match tent to have more blue yes I set it exactly almost

If you have a hybrid T5 system possibly worth getting the Blue because you can have 100% power usage and add in the white with the T5 in the daytime or as needed......
I had all blue plus in my noopayche hybrid on my lagoon
ReefDudes I have AI52HD over my WaterBox supplemented with 4x 80W T5. When all this crisis is over I intend to swap out the AI52s (they are a good few years old now) and add the Radion XR15 G5 Blues and the whites added via the T5. Best of both world..... in my opinion anyway

Which would you choose if using a hybrid t5 fixture with xr30. Would you use bluer bulbs in t5 and whiter in led or vice versa.
What Aquarium is that? Also That mount What is it I have the reefer 650 pen. and that be great for it. Also 3 xr15 g5 sound right or should I opt for 4? Tank is 63 long
Waterbox 7225. Diy light bar. I have done a few videos on it. Start with 3 and you can always add another later :)

Its interesting you can use the old mounts, I actually prefer the look of the older ones, if you use previous mounts on the 15s would it void warranty at all?
Nope, they have an air gap for the fan as the 4th gen had it on top too! only the XR30 that you cant since it blocks the fan

Yep. Mounting is separate I made my own mount so didn’t get them

I could test individually if requested. I’ll get my tank fully dilated in once they all match. I have them evens as I can for now with 4 diff models on there!
@@ReefDudes ok cool, I'm more just looking if 4 XR15's can provide plenty of par on a 6 foot reef and save some money over G5's on a future tank. So we can expect a video on par measurements once you have the same 4 units?
About 8 inches from the top of the water for the par of 200 avg all the way around on a 2x2 foot tank

Be sure to Check those black screw in the lens area t20 torx bit. Heard people having clicking issues with those screws being loose.

@@ReefDudes just a rumor I hear people are having. I have 2 of the 30s and no problem here either. Just spreading rumors🤣🤣 , sharing in the event you hear any clicking every minute or so. I believe there is a thread in r2r regarding some new owners issue. I am issue free however, a few of the black screws by the lens were a hair lose when I checked mine on both fixtures. Simply sharing. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing

if your within 1-3' ish you can notice it if your paying attention. You also so have the option to set a max fan speed if you want to force it to be quieter too :)

Only had them a few weeks so far to to early for that. But either one will have no issue growing coral!

G5 more even spread, better color blending without diffusers. 4 likely penetrate par a bit deeper, 5, wider spread more even par

Well the g5 pro is similar options to the g4. The blue is designed for people who love the blues and want to sump all of the power into the AB+ spectrum
@@ReefDudes but people who Have LEDs love the flexability of them. These new expensive lights seem to be less flexable. Either SPS blue or white setup. People would play with gen 4 to get what suits or move from a White dominated color setup to Blue as they get experience, this light now means you will have to buy a new unit. Gen 4 could evolve with your lighting needs. These seems more restrictive and way to get people to buy more units.
Thats the feedback im getting in LFS and on the ground from hobbyists and not influencers. Its a good light but very restrictive and won't move with you should your setups change

A mild yellow or orange works well. Need to find one that fits your lens size

I’ll likely do pro on display so it’s whiter and maybe use the blue for my frag tank :)

Just wanted people to know that you shouldn’t waste your money on these lights. The price does not mean it is good quality. I bought an xr30 gen 5 pro from ecotech and it was broken straight out of the box and they wouldn’t replace the unit for me. Their customer service is absolutely atrocious. These people are money hungry and don’t care for their customers one bit

What did Deven promote here? He isn't selling the lights and trying to drum up sales for himself. The G5 Radions have been some of the hottest items in the reefing hobby and people have questions galore about them. I don't think Ecotech did themselves any favors with the naming scheme personally so it is good to have as many outlets as possible sharing info on these lights.

The boxes are wrong, the lights are right to the text haha thats why i added it.. you can see the blue at the screw holes on the one on the left ;)
So the blue has extra colours and 3 uv lights ?? And the pro has less and not aswell spaces ??
You even said that cyan was only in pro fixture and it had XR15W blue written under it ?? I’m confused mate
