WHO ARE WE?
We are Bob and Hillary, from Chandler, AZ. While we love living in Arizona we are not going to lie...the summers are brutal! So since both our boys are now in college we decided it was time to buy a #van and travel! We originally thought we would build one out. But after the past 2 years we realized that prices went up and things were hard to find. So much is on back order. So we did the next best thing! We bought one completely finished and ready to go!
What is our WHY? Why do we want to share it with you? The biggest reason is we have had some hard times and lost very dear people in our life which has caused us to want to make the most out of every moment we are given! Our goal is to inspire everyone to chase their dreams no matter their age and season of life, to help people see the behind the scenes of a couple doing that very thing! We have a van built on the Ford Transit chassis....one thing we were told was not to put a storage box on the roof due to weight. We are considering putting a box on a ladder on the back door though to keep the outside things in it like leveling blocks, water hose, black tank stuff, etc...

I just added the Stowaway 2 Standard hitch cargo box to my Promaster. It is on a swing away hitch frame so both rear doors can still be opened. I love it!

I just bought a Tellaro 20k and pick her up this Saturday. I am also considering getting one of those storage things. I also struggle to call my rig an RV. Van is much more fitting. :)

Welcome to Carlsbad, where the beaches are fun, weather is great, prices are outrageous and the gas prices will hurt your wallet! I'm assuming that you parked near Ocean St overnight? It's almost impossible to park near the beach overnight here. Carlsbad Village is a fun place to be. Legoland is around the corner and the premium outlet will bleed your pocketbook dry.

Off topic a bit, but given all the issues with your first Thor, did you consider not getting a Thor again? The quality issues after so little use that so many have had is ridiculous. I love the Thor 18M but due to all the issues people have had with Thor I am heavily considering not getting one and going with the Solis Pocket. I'm a new subscriber and just watched your second van tour video and was surprised you went with Thor again after all the issues with your first van

Great question! The two biggest reasons are 1. We loved the layout of the Tellaro - it fit all our needs 2. It was in our budget - truthfully we didn’t think we’d have more issues with the new one. But the good news is Thor has reached out to us and gotten the ball moving with La Mesa and we have gotten a lot fixed. Video will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
What we have heard/learned is that it’s rare to not have issues with RVs. Which stinks because they are very pricey and we definitely love the idea of traveling in a van.
