Campground Guide: South Carlsbad State Beach. If you want to camp on the beach in Southern California your options are pretty limited and difficult to reserve due to extreme demand. South to North, you have options like Silver Strand state beach, San Elijo state beach, South Carlsbad state beach, San Onofre State beach, San Clemente State Beach, Doheny State Beach, Bolsa Chica state beach, and then you get north of LA into options like Carpinteria, Santa Barbara.

Nice overview Ian. Just stayed there one night Sunday-Monday for Memorial Day. I only went as friends invited me to join them. It was fine, better than I thought. The only other thing I'd add is the ocean has a little rip tide here -- so watch your kids and yourself! Also at low tide there's some sandy beach for your beach towels -- but high tide comes quick so don't let your stuff get wet/sandy/washed away lol. Actually we loved the spot and found the facilities clean and functional. I'd definitely stay again. Peace all.

Excellent video, watched as I was camping at South Carlsbad looking for things to do. Very challenging to get a site and there are always open sites and yet the reservation website will reflect completely booked.

The rangers kicked out me and my family when I was younger tried interrogating us on the beach for alcoholic and being highly aggressive they also freak out at any kind of music playing I’m hoping now that I can go there as an adult they’ll treat me and my friends good it’s been 11 years

Is there an office on the grounds, I may want to stay here last minute. I know Pendleton has an office on the grounds and you can walk in and check availability. Great video, thanks.

San E - lay - ho... Just saying. Good video thanks. So we booked 3 nights ocean front full hookups 1 day before, mid July 2021. I know crazy right? Somebody must of just cancelled... Hallelujah.
