Speedrun of Treasure island Dizzy for ZX Spectrum. World Record on publication.
After running the new released versions of Treasure Island Dizzy I went back to the original game and improved my time. I have taken over 30 seconds off my time just from playing better. The route is essentially the same but a couple of minor optimisations in inventory management.

Amazing run. The sea creatures weren't very nice to you though. The timing has to be perfect. Can't be helped sometimes. You're eating away at your time with each run. Awesome.
The sea creatures are exactly the same every run. They always start in the same place and only move when on screen so I know when I have to wait.
I might look into beating the little green fish on the way back with the axe. And possibly beating the purple stingray but that screen is time limited by the bubble spawns so that may not even matter.
It was nearly my first game on Spectrum and it takes me about month or two to pass it :)

It really does just crash when you finish the game? Is that a bug?
Yes. The game tries to play a victory sound but it looks in the wrong place so it crashes.
You can hear the sound in the remastered version released last year.
