    Speedrun of Fantasy World Dizzy for the ZX Spectrum. This is a world record on publication.
    15 second improvement on chux4w's previous run. Main timesave is from taking more risks on the crocodile screen. Minimal pausing to land on the gator in between the short snaps instead of waiting for the pause.
    A few timesaves that could see this run go sub 13. I messed up the water collection which cost 3 seconds, and I moved to quickly onto the lift to the dragon.
    Unfortunately for an optimal speedrun you have to play on 48K mode so no music because the lack of sound allow text boxes to close faster.

    Hi Faddy. This was a great speedrun to watch. I've just managed to get my Drawbridge drive to allow me to play my old Amiga floppys on the emulator. (I know, not really necessary but i can play all the old demo disks i've got laying around now) anyway, i was thinking of having a go at speedrunning the Amiga version of Dizzy, it doesn't look like anyone else is running it though and i was wondering if you had any hints or tips i might be able to pick your brains for. I already know Amiga runs a lot slower than the zx did so the optimal time is going to be nowhere near the zx time. I guess the rest is just going to be experimenting to see what works.

      I have run the Amiga version of Magicland on emulator. I used FS-UAE and emulated an Amiga 500.
      The games on Amiga are completely different to the Spectrum. Amiga games can be compared to DOS or Atari ST times because they are all basically the same game as far as we know. We have Spectrum and CPC on the same board, and Commodore 64 on its own.
      Yolkfolk.com has all the games officially available for download. There might be info about tricks and glitches on their forums but I don't know too much about these versions. All I know is my one Amiga video got way more views than my Spectrum runs so there is a least a small audience who wants amiga dizzy content. Do a run and put it up, don't worry about it being perfect.

    Great speed run, brings back so many memories. Decided to flip my phone upside down when you fell down the well - strange seeing the market square screens the right way up. Recently played this at a retro museum and was trying to show somebody how to dodge the dragon fire without the potion. Was it simply a matter of waiting for it to breathe fire enough or was there a trick to make it happen? We couldnt get it to happen and died 😂

      The dragon has a pattern that is always the same when you first load up the game. So I know it is going to fire above Dizzy the first time and the dragons head will be out the way.
      So if you always reset the system the first time you see the dargon you can hold right to walk past it.
      You can skip it without the setup too but it is much more difficult. Although one trick is to press menu if the fire is going to hit dizzy as it will delete the fire sprite.

      @@faddy91 😂 that's cheeky! We used to patiently wait for it to fire high then make a run for it. Given how long it took the game to load, we definitely had more patience back then 😀

    Really impressive! But how did you manage to pass the dragon in the beginning, while he was breathing with fire? 🤔

      The dragon has static RNG from when the game is first loaded. So every time you do a hard reset the dragon will fire the same way and the head will move the same way. Simply holding right allows Dizzy to pass.

    Impressive speed run. What happened to the sound?

      The is no sound when the game runs in 48K mode and unfortunately when the game runs in 128K there is a delay in closing text boxes.
      So there is no sound because it makes the speedrun slower.
