I don't think people from Bergen would want to seperate from Norway. However I think it was quite deliberate that they chose to use Bergen for this video. They are very patriotic about their city and almost everyone in the rest of the country have an opinion (good or bad) about people from Bergen.
As someone from Bergen, I had no idea this was a thing, at least not as strongly as the comments make it out to be lol
And I feel pretty confident when I say Bergensere does not want to separate from Norway😅
No,we just joiking when we say we arent from Norway, we are from Bergen, just because we know some people takes a great offends when we say that, and they dont understand that we joiking. :P But we are wery proud of our country and dont want to seperate from Norway.

In Sweden we also have a region of the country that are more prone to "exit" talk than other regions. That region is Jämtland. They have their own flag, anthem and national day, separate from the Swedish offical ones.
Bergen was Norways capital from 1070 to 1299. They are a very irritating bunch, boasting and bragging with their irritating dialect. Love from Trondheim 😂

Hanseatic merchants took over trade in Bergen in the 14th century, so it is likely that some people from Bergen have German ancestry.
It's probably mostly a joke, even if the people of Bergen like to see themselves as something completely separate.

I don’t like people from Bergen. Arrogant, and always in opposition by default if you’re an Easterling like me. Been to Bergen numerous times. Pretty, but boring. Would never live there. And as most Norwegians I too have family in the “area”, neighboring Haugesund, and Nazi Kristiansand. It’s the audacity that they think so highly of themselves to even suggest that Bergen isn’t Norway and that they want to be their own state or republic. And even though this is just an ad and satire, trust and believe many Bergensere do think this way… seeing how many of them are of German and Dutch decent anyway, they might be right. At least we now know whom of which we cannot trust in times of conflict. Let them leave🥱

@@gulogulo7636Bro! Be nice. We have something similar to the preposterous rebellion in Bergen, but much nicer. Every year we break out from Norway for 3 days to celebrate the Republic of Finnskogen. We even elect a president, and have our own flag.
This is a pretty strong opinion from a joke... And disliking a whole group of people just because they are from somewhere is really not a good thing😅
