@@est9949 Yeah, a lot of the titles Anna gives her tournament videos seem deliberately misleading, which I find annoying, although sometimes I think she just does it to avoid giving away the result of the game. The thumbnails aren't too bad though. In one of his videos GothemChess talked about why so many of his videos have thumbnails where he has some exaggeratedly astonished facial expression; he said he hates doing that, but he's tested it and it really does bring in more views.
Probably not a realistic one, I can't imagine Anna wants to put all her preparation lines out in the open. Even if she prepared against someone who only plays very specific lines.
@@chrisgk7494 Not specifics, but in general, e.g. does she find out what openings/defences her opponent plays and work out responses or just concentrate on her own openings/defences? Is all the time spent on specific prep for the opponent or is some time spent doing puzzles, practising endgames (e.g. KBN v K 😉), etc.
Anna, in the chat during the game we were all talking about this opening! Comments like, "This is more aggressive than Anna usually is!" Let's see." My comment was on how your pawn structure was like a pyramid. I think this was the best game I have ever seen you play! Good job!
The repetition draw doesn't need to be claimed, though. It simply is a draw. You can't avoid it. But Hammer did make a point about the Belgian believing that she had the worse position, since she went for the draw.
@@FlopportunityKnocks He also made a point about how even after the three-fold repetition, her opponent could have continued play, which may have been troublesome with Anna's time trouble. This is because she did not claim the draw on her turn as per the rules. Anna responded that she looked at and nodded to her opponent and felt that a draw by agreement was certain. Of course Anna was right and there were no consequences, but GM Hammer also certainly had a point.
Great recap! Yes, I know what en passant is. Was kind of hoping you'd get into if en passant is a forced move or not 😄. I think for those starting out, en passant and castling looks very strange but the names sound more complicated than what the moves actually are.
Hammer said Queen D2 was an unnecessary mistake, a loss of tempo. Because with the black castle on H3, that castle is out of the game, blocked by its own pawns, and black will need to waste moves getting the castle back into the game. So you moving the queen to threaten the castle was only prompting a move it would have he to do anyway without your queen threatening it. I got the feeling Hammer really enjoyed the first third of the match (I haven’t been able to finish the livestream yet, too sick to concentrate). He seemed to enjoy both of you moving out of the theory lines of the openings without it being clearly a mistake. Your variation opened up a not bad at all line to calculate forward
Anna, great content, as always. But a question of another kind: what video set-up you are using? Is it iPhone, and which mic (brand + type) you are holding in your hand?
I liked this game even if I always think of the KID as black attacking the k-side and white attacking the q-side. Just goes to show there no fixed rules, and you have to play the position on the board. Nice game but long too - lol
I'm from Belgium. The "y" in Rycke is pronounced as the "a" in ass in american english and the "e" is pronounced as the "a" in amazing. Also not sure who to root for now :P
Saw this as Hammer was streaming it LIVE. You did well! He did mention that you NEEDED to have asked for the draw after the 3rd repetitive move. Did you ask and that ask may not have been captured in the audio or did the monitor who was there just recognize it and declare it a draw without you needing to "formally" ask?
Ahh I noticed you made the statement, around the 4:15 minute of your video, that you had finished moving out all of your pieces. I only play chess a little bit. Is this the best strategy for a rockie like me? Figure out a couple starting set ups and do a full set up and then attack? Normally I do a little set up and then don't know what to do next so I attack.
I was playing a chess hustler in NYC one time and he played en-passent. I pretended I didn't know what that move was and when I admitted I'm just toying with him he completely tilted =P
@matszz Yes, of course, but in order to create an imbalance in a drawish position, you need to take risks. Risks that can cost the game you are trying to win, plus lose your team the match. If Anna saw something to press in the position, she would at least try it. That's what I think as an outsider, at least.
Damn I told gothamchess the same thing, you talking way to fast lol I get that yall are already on that level but I’m tryna get there, these moves are happening to fast for me to comprehend, you should make a beginners guide or something, the first video I seen was you and that gentleman at the park, very wholesome interaction but I just subscribed
It wouldn't help I watched it live and the eval bar never really moved. Without GM Hammer explaining all the lines while Anna concentrated, I still wouldn't have understood the game.
pretty humble of her to be around her mom and digesting her fame alongside hers. They both deserve each bit of it, but yet, Anna, you deserve more. SO PROUD OF YOU !!
Anna: "I played PERFECT chess"
Also Anna: "I should've done this move...and this move...and this move..."
Unfortunately all the stupid social media nowadays reward clickbait stuffs. The system is so effing broken.

@@jc3drums916To be fair to Anna: There was one point in the match where GM Hammer said that her accuracy was 99.6%.

Not showing the eval bar when your title is "I played perfect chess" is a brilliant move... ;D

Well done, Anna. That was a well-deserved draw against a strong opponent. 😀
Drawing with white is considered similar to a loss. It’s not a good result against this opponent but acceptable.

Anna we want Hammer again sometimes in the future pls he was perfect commentator in these days, RUclips chat > Twitch 😂😎
Could you do a video sometime giving details of exactly what you do when you "prepare for 3 hours" for a game against a particular opponent?

@@MasterOfReason I actually mixed up the rules with the fivefold repetition, where the arbiter calls the draw, not the players.

6:09 why was it better to take the h pawn with the rook and not the bishop?
You have to sacrifice rating basically, to do the best thing for the team in the tournament? That doesn't seem like a great system
You don't. She didn't have a winning advantage, so a draw was enough both for Anna and her team.
@@chrisgk7494 If she had won that game, wouldn't it have been better for her rating than drawing?

@@chrisgk7494 Then my point stands. A player can be forced to sacrifice fide rating to help win the tournament. That's not a good system.
@matszz it isn't really different than a normal tournament where a draw can mathematically give you first place
