New aftermarket locks on the side are absolutely sheit quality. I reused the original ones. And the rail for stopping the whiper was never on the original frame.
Hey mate, nothing is rarely as good as OEM but they seem to work fine for me!. in regards to the rail, there's a channel that stops the whippers from going up past a certain point on my old frame! so i assume that's factory.
Many thanks for this detailed video!! I just ordered a frame from Famous Four - they were speedy to respond to questions and shipping overseas was quick! Although I haven't started, I had a thought while watching you remove the old frame. On my old sailboat I used a product called "Debond Marine Formula" which proved itself invaluable in removing some of the toughest 3M materials ever! Spraying this on the old frame may help alleviate the difficulty in removing it from the glass.
@@hade-mw7zq struts i actually picked up from Bunnings, cheap and actually well built. i downgraded the struts to 200N from 250N as the frame is now a lot lighter being Aluminium.
Hey nice video and great work! Thanks for sharing! I just want to replace my glass is it really complicated or pretty simple. I have the glass in a rusted out one.
Fantastic video and instructions, thank you. My rear floor panel is rusted and you can see air in places which used to be a cross member beam. How did you remove the rear floor panel so nicely on your green RRC? Cheers - Dave Oz
Great Video! I only have one question, Why didn't you filled the glass slot with the silicon to avoid water ingress? Seems to me that that amount of silicon is prone to water ingress if a little crack on the silicon happens. Not a big issue with aluminium, but deadly on steel. Cheers and keep it going!
Think you answered your question there. It’s aluminium, so no need. If you silicon it right and maintain it over the years you shouldn’t have any problem. Pump silicon for the sake of filling the void seems very pointless to me, if you end up get water in there you just end up trapping it
@@endakhudson Ok thanks for the info, i have to replace mine, was there anything else that you recomend to get at the same time for replacing the frame. Im restoring a 93 Vogue SE. Finding it difficult sourcing parts in Australia.
Hey there - Great video - I know you said the lower liftgate seal was in transit. When you installed did you have to use additional silicone or sikaflex? I have a new seal & new channel from Famous Four but I'm unsure if I should be adding Sikaflex as well? Cheers from SoCal, USA!
Your attention to detail is spot on you really are kicking goals mate. I also like this new format with a focus on the finer details - keep it up!
Thank you Sir🙌🏾
Good to have another video from you.
Like the voice-over explaining what’s going on.
Thanks Andrew! I’ll try to do more of that overall in all the videos!
I can’t believe this channel only has 5k followers…
Yes totally - two thumbs up for the nitty gritty!
Awesome. Great attention to the fine details.
Thanks mate! If your going to do it right, you might aswell do it properly!

Good job. ( 14:59) Why is the direction of the hydraulic arm on the upper tailgate upside down? Hydraulic reservoir must be up...
Hey Adel, rushed mistake. Swapped it not long after to ensure the seals are lubricated
Thanks for your reply. Everything is perfect.
I'm looking forward to the result👍
Looks mint. Are you spraying Windex onto Sikaflex to allow you to shape it with no mess?
Yeap that’s it mate 👍🏾
@@endakhudson thanks I saw someone else.do it but had no idea what they were spraying on it so didn't want to screw anything up.
