I have a about 3 tips. 1: Commercial should be next door to Industrial, because the freight orders go to the Commercial. If you do not know, It sells the products. 2: Traffic can be good by making high wealth roads. High wealth roads make traffic lights. 3: Never make garbage incineraters! this will attrack godzilla AND create pollution. Hope this helps! btw you earned a sub!
I couldn't agree more. I'm watching for 13 minutes and there's so many nice tips you're pointing out. Been playing SC for years and this is so helpful for me. Thank you, Dinosgg.
Glad you enjoyed the video and I'm glad I could give you a good laugh! :) Don't forget to watch the rest of the series there's 7 parts total plus the space center if you want to see where the city goes from here.
Your very welcome I'm glad the video has been so helpful already! If you want more after this video electronics is a 7 part series (8 if you count the space center completion) and then I also have a series on Casinos over at my youtube channel if you want more!
Love watching tutorial or tips and tricks videos where the host spends most of their time struggling with road and building placement instead of just explaining the tips and strategies. This video was pretty good though and I like how you explain some of the finer details about population, employment and education. I seem to have alot of issues with homeless and a hard time increasing low wealth density without increasing land value and replacing low wealth with medium wealth.
Try SimCity 4, bit of an old school game but a lot more complex of a system. You'll have a MUCH harder, yet more fun, time filling out the maps on that game.
Hey Hector thanks for watching! Yeah I actually figured that out later on over in my Casino tutorial that industrial can deliver to the trading depot. What is really good about this as well that the trade depot trucks don't seem to have to leave the building to deliver freight!
Thanks for watching! It was something I read off of a guide a long time ago, basically the high class react negatively to high and medium taxes, while the middle and lower class only react negatively to high taxes. From there I just tested it out to see where middle and low wealth sims start complaining and abandoning the building, and drop it one percentage from there. I noticed the high wealth people still complain, so if you have finance you want them at 9 or 10%.
Watching next episodes, currently at part 3. Verry good tips i found from your vid: tourism building with residents, guide feature that gives quests, some buildings increase land value, putting community college next to industrial. Thanks
The thing with parks is you only need them if you're going for a certain style or look to your city with the higher wealth buildings. The higher wealth workers aren't needed to run any buildings in the entire game besides medium and high wealth commercial or industrial.
That nasty sewage will save your life! I constantly run out of water because the aquifer constantly runs out of water for me, but when I place a water pumping station with only filtration pumps between two sewage outflow pipes, I have an infinite water supply since the outflow pipes provide more water than the output of the filtration pumps.
Yeah the sewage treatment plant refills the water table I love it! As long as your sewage treatment isn't dumping onto the ground and is getting filtered you don't even need to use the filtration pumps just the standard will work.
Yeah I love that little condo building I always try and fit it into my cities somewhere. I kind of messed up on the placement however since it's off on the corner, some of the positive land value spills off the edge of my map.
The stability issues aren't completely solved, but they are a ton better than they were at release. I had to redo this video once because I lost connection to the server and it was making the simulation really buggy.
I bought the limited edition which you got for preordering or if you bought a store copy. The limited edition was the same price $59.99 and you got maxis man and the Vu tower, both are pretty cost prohibitive to use in your city.
That's a good idea but it's going to be hard to fulfill later on because of density increases and traffic. But when you're just starting your town that works! Thanks for the idea :)
"Sometimes 'fuck fireworks'..." Hahaha...I (literally) laughed out loud. This walkthrough was awesome. I have been playing SC since the very first one, and have always done better than most, but still room for improvement. I have to say, your walk through helped explain a lot more of the nuances that I never really was able to put my finger on while playing this new version. Thanks much!
Your freight is handled by your trading post. Your industrial will create freight and is stored and distributed to your commercial via the trading post. I've found that having 2 trading posts (1 committed to freight) at the beginning is helped me. I do a lot of mining/drilling, so the other trading post is committed to those resources. I think my thinking is correct but if not, please let me know.
I would love to see the UK version where you wait 3 years to get planning permission only to find the land was a roman villa and have to wait a further year for the ground to be excavated.
or i would like to play in an entire continent if i wanted to cause i payed full price for this game... either tell me what i'm going to pay up front or dont make the game at all i'm getting really tired of getting milked and you shouldnt either... we are not cows... now on the other had this video was gr8 and the 'GUIDE ME" button was over looked completely so this was very helpful sir i will subscribe...
I would easily cough up another $20 to play on a map 3-5X as big with some terraforming options. You know, the kind that existed 20 years ago in a little known title called Sim City 2000.
Great game hours of fun I know it's not perfect but its great just to build and have a giant lizzard tare it apart lol ! Great work on the video too some great tips too cheers.
I have an issue as I progress with making processors and tvs. It seems like my oil plant functions at half capacity because of oil shortages. Also, the process of producing the said elements takes long with only recycling. I cleared up much of the trafic, but things just go way too slow. Is it a wise decision to focus on importing? Cause otherwise it will take way too long.
I want to know, when you put roads/buildings on top of an already zoned and occupied spot, will it take the residents/shops etc. away? I mean technically you are destroying the buildings/houses when you put stuff on top of it, but does it actually affect the stats in-game?
Pretty much had the exact same city as you, after I wrote that, I tried again, following every step and placing all my buildings in pretty much the exact same spot as you (I'm two days new to the game and pretty much have no idea how to play it), but I got black screened again and lost everything. So I've decided to just mess around in sandbox mode and hopefully wait for an update to fix this... Have you had your sims game crash before? I watch your videos and yours doesn't crash, but mine does
"What can I do to increase my jobs? Oh, I'll put some commercial right here." --- lays a few lines of commercial, then lays twice the amount of residential. Srsly?
@@plazmicflame this is not possible. Each high density commercial building creates jobs for at less 5 high-dens residential building, therefore you won't have enough of workers.
learned a lot from your videos but there one thing i keep having trouble with, how do i upgrade density without the wealth. every time they both end up upgrading.
my 1st successful electronics city wen there then a lizard popped up under my nuke plant now the city is completely useless. I have started and have a 2nd city up and running now. great guide though ill keep watching for sure
they think they can stop piracy by DRM and need online feature to work.....what they don't know is what's dragging people to pirate is the insane prices of the game and the harder they try to combat piracy, the stronger people cling to piracy because people who got the legit copy and has weak internet or maybe no internet at all will be in rage how everything is so slow and not working because of the internet needed feature and if your internet sucks then you will wait tons of time before making a move in the game and this forces people to go pirate which is lag free.
Do you think EA actually care that much about piracy? They know not everyone will be able to buy at this kind of price but this price is set to gain maximum profit from the game. I hope your high school maths taught you quadratic and optimisation. Of course it's way more complicated but that's the basic idea. They just make it hard to pirate the game from the start so people who are 50/50 about buying the game actually go buy the game and earn quick profit from them (no chance to try out the game first). More marketing scheme. Sometimes for a multiplayer game that's extremely popular or an indie game that is not so popular, they release a leak to the game scene to let us know about the game and tempt us to buy the full complete version. So there are different strategies there to maximise profits with piracy in mind. What I am saying here is, profit is always their first priority. Not people's joy.
True fans of SimCity are not going to buy this game in the first place because it is a travesty on the original creator of the 'Sim' games, Will Wright, who worked on all other Sim games but had NO involvement in this, due to EA finding the creator obsolete enough to let go. This entire game is simply EA's own imitation of SimCity, none of the original innovation that fueled the previous games is involved here. I digress, my point is that this game falls far short of standards set by most tiers of the Sim/Maxis fanbase, and none of us are going to bother buying it even if we can't pirate.
KnownAsKenji Will Wright, after having his dream game "Spore" dumbed downed into a sentient penis simulator for 12 years, basically threw up his hands, said "Fuck this", and left EA to pursue projects where he has complete control. It's a shame to see EA make a mockery of Will's life work though. He's probably the greatest game designer of all time.
KnownAsKenji I bought it. Huge fan of SimCity. Though I mostly gave in, due to wanting updated mechanics. I know it will be nothing like the old ones. Perhaps one day these games that spit on the old ones will realize what's what.
You made a town with no small roads. Can't say the highest paying housing market would move to a town like that.. As someone from the N.E., that's kinda the staple of how the roads are. I guess I just like what I'm used to in real life.
Is it correct that you can delete your grade school once you have a high school and have no problems? I've read that the game doesn't discern ages, so you can just have the high schools
I have a about 3 tips. 1: Commercial should be next door to Industrial, because the freight orders go to the Commercial. I've played this for like a year, and there were still many new things i got taught this tutorial!

Great video! That CTRL+ZONE function is gonna save me from going insane trying to make square blocks, thank you so much!
i wished this sim city had just 50% more space to build. i always get short on space to get the right buildings going
Try SimCity 4, bit of an old school game but a lot more complex of a system. You'll have a MUCH harder, yet more fun, time filling out the maps on that game.
KnownAsKenji and it's music is much more varied and a lot "jazzier".
Thanks for the tut, I didn't follow it completely but the start of part 1 gave me a really good kickstarter for my city
Jack Miller tut
Thanks for showing the "Guide Me" feature!! I didn't know about that at all. Awesome video.
15:49 - I have the exact same doorbell and whenever I hear this, every time I think that someone rings at my door, *DAMN IT!*
probably one of the most informative video for this game. love it man. thanks

Hey glad you enjoyed the video anything I could do better for next time?
Glad the videos helped you out, thanks for watching!
If you hold control it zones the entire length of the road. If you use this inside grid squares or circles it will fill in the whole zone as well.
Great Video!! I spent so long trying to get the computer's and tv's and I couldn't until this. SUBBED!
Thanks Andri! I plan to keep them coming, once electronics is all finished I'll be showing how to build a successful gambling city!
Glad you enjoyed there is more coming!
Glad you enjoyed and have fun the second time through!
Glad you enjoyed! Don't forget to check out casinos as well!
Watching next episodes, currently at part 3. Verry good tips i found from your vid: tourism building with residents, guide feature that gives quests, some buildings increase land value, putting community college next to industrial. Thanks
Thanks for all the advice. Great videos. Going to watch and take notes the 2nd time through!

Nice video, it's like watching a movie. Can't wait to see the end :D

Best guide I've seen, I followed this, although I messed up at the end of part 4 >.
Very good video. Looking forward for more!
A quick shortcut for the Population details button is F2
like the video. Good tips. start of part gave me a really good kickstarter for my city
That's a good idea but it's going to be hard to fulfill later on because of density increases and traffic. But when you're just starting your town that works! Thanks for the idea :)
Quick note on the unfilled jobs at 07:33. You got 67 unfilled jobs, so devide 67 with 6 = 12 houses that you need to build =)
Thanks Rex glad you enjoyed the video!

It has been better than before!
try storing up your processors in the trade depot and start shipping them at midnight is an easy fix for the city.
Great Guide, I just got Simcity. thanks man! subbed.

Love your awesome vids! watched the whole thing!
"Because sometimes fuck fireworks" Haha. Good video. I had no idea about the guide me feature. Thank you.
The small maps add in a reasson for different city specialisations and adds multiplayer
yeah if you use locally you won't export the processors, just build up your inventory levels and then sell it all off at midnight.
Could you please show me how to turn on the happy faces that spread out whenever you put some park or building that make people happy ?
LOL @ City specializing in Fire hahaha.
Great vid!
Thanks for this vid. U have some great tips! Hope you make more :)
really well explained video :) gona follow ur vids.

wow learned a lot thanks especially land value didn't really consider that important lol
In Sim City 4, there was from tiny plots to huge ones.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
I will be VERY happy when they upgrade the size of the map!
Awesome tutorial. Subscribed :)
great video at last i can enjoy this game :D
Great tutorial. Thank you! :)
I fixed that in the casino series those videos are only about 20 minutes long
I want to know, when you put roads/buildings on top of an already zoned and occupied spot, will it take the residents/shops etc. away? I mean technically you are destroying the buildings/houses when you put stuff on top of it, but does it actually affect the stats in-game?
Awesome, thanks very much :)

"What can I do to increase my jobs? Oh, I'll put some commercial right here." --- lays a few lines of commercial, then lays twice the amount of residential. Srsly?
What would be the right thing to do then?
If ya look up the ratio's of the Zoning he's doing it right and this is a pretty decent info vid!
3Redbug - Yeah, I looked it up recently. Zoning is 3:1:1. So for every 3 bits of residential you would have 1 commercial and 1 industrial.
@@plazmicflame this is not possible. Each high density commercial building creates jobs for at less 5 high-dens residential building, therefore you won't have enough of workers.
Love the tutorial man, keep up the great vids!!!!!
ps: could you do a city specialized in trading ressources??
Nice series dino
I Like Free Buildings Too. Actually I Like Everything That's Free^^
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
I'm glad the videos were useful!
really like the video really good tips but at the start when you put the sims homes by the factory's wont that give you trouble in the future
We should have people who are really good at SimCity be mayors of real cities.
learned a lot from your videos but there one thing i keep having trouble with, how do i upgrade density without the wealth. every time they both end up upgrading.
They WILL? Ö.Ö Oh niice...
I noticed you have two buildings in the police section I don't have.
Your having the dlc? :P (Digital deluxe edition)??
Have the stability issues been solved yet? I'm still on the fence about buying this one, but I love SimCity games.
my 1st successful electronics city wen there then a lizard popped up under my nuke plant now the city is completely useless. I have started and have a 2nd city up and running now. great guide though ill keep watching for sure
Yay glad you're learning!

An idea could be, you can buy more land either north, south, east, or west?
You should make a play through of Don't Starve.

nice vid mate
Thanks for a great tutorial
It would make the game alot more fun to play
I love how the school lady has a Southern accent. Friggin tradcon soccer mom ;)
