Does Katie know that not all people use tools with either hand with such ease ? She hammers with power and accuracy lefty or righty. Way to go Katie !
Katie less than 3 percent of all people can use both hands as equal purposes you are rare congratulations
Yes I noticed it too : ambidextrous (rare) :) Way to go guys! I laughed at the gradual undress - weather permitting and level of work achieved. Love them puppies too.
She’s blessed in that regard! I can barely wave with my left hand!😂
She’s a natural!!!
Either hand did a very credible job of hand driving nails, almost a lost art nowadays. I started framing houses before nail guns were a thing and a crew of 5 would go through a 50# box of 16d box nails a day. It was nice to not have drag around a 13lb nail gun tethered to 100' of hose all day. You both have credible carpentry skills that are serving you well and setting a good example.
When I saw you switch hands while hammering those nails in, I was impressed!
When you are nailing close to the end of a board Katie, turn the nail over and hit the sharp end to blunt it slightly. When you drive a blunt nail into a board it wont split, sharp nails act like a wedge hence split the board. My grandfather taught me this trick 60 years ago.
Is Katie AMBIDEXTROUS?? I've noticed she pound the nail with the hammer either hand. Talented!!!
@ 21:50 is Greg a magician, I think he cut right through that clamp
Hi guys. I’ve been enjoying your posts for a few months now. I know this is probably too late now but I’m an old farmer and I have a tip for your fencing project. When you staple fencing wire like that to wooden posts you should not hammer that staples all the way in but leave the wire free to move … especially to allow for movement due to expansion and contraction during hot or cold periods.
OK. Katie really is a beast!! Most women can't hammer a nail in, much less do it with either hand! Heck I doubt I could hit the nail on the head left handed. 🙂
One more small tip. Put a diagonal (compression) brace on your beautiful new gate. The brace should go from the bottom of the hinge side up to the top of the latch side. This will help to prevent the gate sagging.
The batteries on the hammer never fails.
Hilarious way to promote a shaver showing the north end of a goat going south, keep on keeping on
Geez, when Greg got done with his shave and haircut, a clean shirt AND glasses, he looked pretty darn GQ!!
Yay! Spring is starting, plants are growing, and Katie's nature shots are back! Hooray!
You two work so hard, but the rewards are astronomical! Also, that tractor helps you all so much! Love the shots of the animals and property! Love your videos! Real women put in fences, Katie! I love that you just jump in and work harder than a lot of men I know! You remind me of my younger years.
You are the " Jack and Jill of all trades!" Working together on a common goal is so rewarding!
Very impressed with Katie’s hammering capabilities
24:38 Always amazes me she can hammer left or right handed. I've never known anyone that can do that.
Would it be possible for you to send your drone up to take an aerial photo of your property and then draw the fence on it. I'd love to see it's route around the whole place.
I’ve seen many channels sponsored by manscape , but no one has goats 🐐 lmao
Ambidextrous hammering is the new rage!
Right and left handed 😎👍👍
Great going there, Katie! Without you that fence would not be stretched properly along all the posts! Men cannot do without the strength of the woman! OK, I'll add that you both need each other to move ahead each day or moments, and you do that wonderfully well! It is a joy to watch that each time again! Work together lovingly!
Amazing hard working there Katie and Greg, your a awesome team with your two supervisors running around checking your work. Love the Chicks xxxxxx ❤️💙
Ambidextrous Katie, cool!
Yet another brilliant video - love the way the dogs like to supervise and occasionally like to assist - we have 2 dogs that also believe they are senior management and we need their direction and help.
Not a professional fence builder here but from what I’ve seen you two did a darn good job. Awesome video
Katie you the first woman I have seen that can use both hands to hammer nails in well done because I can't
Love your guys videos
From Australia
So enjoyed the video, and Katie you are something else with that hammer, not many people can drive nails using both right hand or left hand lol. I love yall videos. Can’t wait for the next one.
am so happy you put out content more often, I could watch every day of the week LOL
I was thinking the same.Does Katie know that not all people use tools with either hand with such ease ? She hammers with power and accuracy lefty or righty. Way to go Katie !
Hello my favorite Off Grid People :D Nice design of fence and gates. One thing I have learned the hard way though: A gate will last significantly longer if you add a diagonal piece of wood that goes from the lower hinged corner to the upper non-hinged corner with no gaps/in-span (forgive me my english) :)
Impressive left and right hand hammering! Nice one Katie
Hi from Australia. Your channel is by far the best of more than 200 channels I watch. Cheers
"the weld is not very good" its always good to have a strong set of ethics.
Ambidextrous Katie! Wow, on top of being gorgeous and well-spoken! You two are a great team!
Awesome job on the fence guys , You didn't make it to small anyway ! little chickens look happy :) Dogs not so much when they realize the dog run cut short "
Hey guy's, love your channel & all your hard work as you build a better life for yourselves. Greg, please make sure Caitie stands to the side of those posts as you drive them, rather than directly in front of you. God forbid, if that hammer head comes off, or you mis-hit & snap the handle, the head will fly directly away from you & could have disastrous consequences! Anyways, keep up the great work & enjoy spring! (Autumn here in Australia)
The hardest working couple on RUclips. Just saying!
gate looks great and you both did a very fine job putting it together, been with you tow for years, love the shows and have been working on my own place too, from a wheelchair. Aloha
As with the previous threads, Katie with the hammer is impressive. Only concern would be not wearing safety glasses. Especially when you are using a steel blade. Had an experience with accidentally hitting a steel post. A piece flew up and hit me just above the right eye. Use to impress the girls at work by hanging a small magnet off it. Finally had it remove by a dermatologist on one of my many skin cancer treatments. Keep up the great videos.
Ooooohhh, handsome Greg!!! 😍👍🏻🪒😎🤣
The most impressive thing I've ever seen on RUclips is someone hammering with either hand. It happened here and by a girl. That was epic. I made my wife come watch it over and over with me. I've been using tools for years and can't do that. I have no idea what the video was about. I just know that I watched an amazing thing.
Great job awesome job, what can I say fencing is hard no matter how you look at it. You too work so well together. Katie that’s amazing using both hands like you do
Great job the end is near for fencing both then it maintenance.
Good luck stay safe!
The transformation is awesome. Hard work pays off. You have a beautiful house, more land, and now it is enclosed land that brings even more opportunities for you in the future. You are a good team no doubt. I cannot wait to get my place fenced off for all of my animals and not just the big ones. Having more space is something I am truly looking forward to in the future. I just hope I'll have equipment to aid me when the time comes. I couldn't imagine doing what you have without the aid of that tractor and a great team putting it all together. Congratulations! Progress is in progress no matter how small or great it is. Can't wait to see the next episode! Hope y'all have a great rest of your week.
Very impressive Katie.. ambidextrous.. love your videos..
For the terrain you are fencing on, it looks good.
You should do something to waterproof the top of your fence posts that are mushroomed to prevent rot.
I love when you guys added a song to the video
Love watching you guys (From MOROCCO)
Nice gate🎉🎉 happy the fencing part is finished 🎉
Greg your Katie is a good sturdy woman… swing’n hammer with authority… Drive’n em with the left or the right… always great to watch you guys…
Me and my husband love watching your videos here in the UK. you are a true inspiration and make a great team 😊
I LOVE THE DESIGN OF THE GATE! Clean, stylish and functional! A lot of hard work went into the fencing but perseverance paid off. Look at the excellent end results! Celebrate!
One diagonal brace should be fine on the person entry gates, and make the gates half an inch less width wise and you should be able to swing a gate easily. You are doing well and you both use a hammer better than a few carpenters I worked with in the past 30 years well done!
Oh the fence looks great really adds to the property the gate is a work of art fits in nicely at the off grid homestead well done folks you preserved and got her done all that hard work has paid off, Be proud of yourselves . That should help keep the wildlife out especially if your wiring it. Always awesome to see all your animals love the wee chicks . Thanks for bringing us along to watch folks.
Yall did great,Greg I like ur shaving commercial, with balls, lol. Katie u have strong arms hammering the old fashion why. After using a nailer,it's hard to go back to basics. Animals are cute. Great show!
Ambidextrous hammering. Is there no end to Katy’s skill?🙂hope the nail gun can be repaired. No point in repeating the way you work so hard together - it is however amazing, such motivation and stamina. I so enjoy your videos. Thank you. Phil 👍😁🇬🇧
So glad you are putting out 2 videos a week 🎉🎉🎉🎉 loving it.
You have both worked so amazingly hard,I dont know how you keep going. You are an incredible couple and you can both achieve so much. Nothing is beyond you. I hope you are both going to have some chill time after the fence is complete. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great job! I like Katie's muscles showing how it is done - stretching that fence just right without pulling the first pole out of the ground! And then the nailing together of the gate - nails shall go in, straight whether you use the right hand or the left they shall go in - with determination! Working together to get the job done - just a pleasure to watch each time again! Keep it up!
Great progress guys. Awesome job!! . Katie I enjoyed the shots of the dogs, the little chick daring to jump off the rock, spring coming to life and trees budding. Spring is the very best time of year! 😀
Congratulations Greg! You built a really nice pallet.
All your hard work is paying off!! Nice Job!!
Hey Guys! "GREAT JOB" on the fence and the gate. Katie and Greg, you make me tired just watching you work so hard. It's amazing what you've managed to accomplish in 5 years. It's obvious the the Big Guy up above is sheerly watch you both out of the corner of his eye.
Gene
Motivation is a bleeeeeeepin bleep! Looks fency!
Your videos are the best. Thunder Bay, Ontario
🤩🤩 Fence Dispenser 2.0 ! 😍😍
😇❤
Your perseverance on the fence project is commendable. Great job!
The two of you are doing a great job, Looks good.
I love Greg for his can-do attitude !! Just do-it !!
Buy a harness for your swimmer, it will save your back from strain.
I'm proud of you two, NC USA 🇺🇸
Great work. Fencing is tough but you guys are doing awesome
You have so much work. But you do it very well. I think you could use a good sponsor. Best wishes from Germany. Andi
I LOVED the wood gate I was hoping for horizontal boards vs vertical boards. In my opinion horizontal boards are more appealing to the eye and prevents dogs or people from using gate with as a ladder to climb over. In addition the gate post should be much larger to be more sturdy for a swing gate. I agree with Gregg using the smaller cheaper posts, to getter done at best price...but from my experience corners and gates should be larger posts. If this was a rush job to contain all the animals I get it. Repairs and upgrades will come later. Staying home full time now you have time. Thank you for sharing ❤
You clean up real nice Greg!
Greg and Katie you both too awesome, your doing a 10 man job 🤭🤣 looks great 👍🏽
The tops of your poles, should be cut at an angle to prevent so much of them absorbing water, you could also put tin cans over their tops to do the same thing, I would put a single nail in them, with a washer on them and caulk it. I'd also paint the can to ward off rust. One thing you all are doing different than the way I was taught and always did, The fencing should go on the side of what you are wanting to keep in or out. If the fence is to keep live stock contained, put the fence on the side of the live stock. If it's to keep bears out, put the fence on the outside.
Katie, when using the weed wacker, please use safety glasses, a good friend of mine, dong the same thing, with the same blade, put a sliver of wood/weed into the corner of his eye, and can no longer move his eye. Protect those beautiful eyes!
LOL Gregg love the ad plug showing the goats back ends 😅
Beyond Thrilled for you both! What an accomplishment🎊 ❤🙏🙏🙏
Excellent work you two! You two are young & healthy so do as much as you can now to make your land & home as you want. I do love watching your channel.
I've been wanting to ask a couple of questions about your dogs.
What are their ages and breeds?
We live in Kansas so dogs are different from different parts of this world. We just lost what will probably be our last dog in January. He was a 15 year old German Shorthair.
Take care, really enjoy seeing what you are doing.
Good job glad to dee another project completed except for all the Gates love watching your videos. Cannot hardley wait for the next one April showere brings spring flowers
I remember that when I was younger. We had 5 Acres on a hill and we Soaked all the poles in oil then we carry them one by one up the hill. Those were the good old days here in north Idaho.
Love the videos twice a week ❤❤
Your gates need a brace running on the diagonal from the bottom on the hige side to the top on the closing side or they will sag over time.
You are doing a good job and I enjoy seeing the transformation of your property.
Love the determination on getting the fence done. As long as it does its job it doesnt have to be pretty 😊 It just has to work. Good job you guys!!
As the day went by and the posts were being hammered into the ground, Greg was wearing less and less clothing, we half expected the last post being hammered in with Greg in his underwear 😂😂
Boy you out did yourself this time. Are guys really that ignorant that they would need to have a picture drawn to understand
what you were referring to?? That goat was the smart one running away from you with that razor in your hand. Seriously
Greg you had me laughing so hard I almost fell off my chair with your pictorial humor. That was way funnier than saying
""Private Areas"" or even ""Nether Regions"". Your class of humor was outstanding to say the least. That commercial you
did should go viral!! And yes fencing is dull repetitive work but it's got to be done. ( with a healthy dash of humor! )
Your nature shots always melts my heart. I feel like I'm watching a professional National Geographic program (not a
sponsor) instead of actually seeing your farmyard and surroundings. Absolutely breath taking and cozy feeling!
I love watching you guys! Me southern AZ.
You two are go getters. Greg can do or figure out most things, great skills. Katie is a worker. Take care of each other guys!
To save your hand from pain, make a piece of flat Bar 1/2 inch wide x five or six inches long with a fencing wire hole size in from the end and then put fencing wire through the hole and tie wire around horizontally like a fishing knot. ????
In case U didn't know there's a new automated post driver!
I highly recommend fencing pliers.
What are you planning for the bottom of the fence which seems to be loose enough that the dogs, with minor digging, will push on it to get out. I suppose that if you're running electric wire and put on low enough that the dogs touch it a couple of times, it'll dissuade them from doing it again. There's always the mill and cutting some 2x2 and tying to the bottoms. You guys work really hard I must admit, the work ethic you both have is admirable
Really good episode!
Hello my favorite Canadians! I always love seeing you guys and all the floofs! ❤️😊
IF the spring that you draw water from is a reliable source, You MAY be able to run a line from the source to a cistern in your yard that runs ALL the time. If you have an elevation rise of less than 30 feet you can create a siphon as long as the house end is lower that your source. You would want to run the line as straight as possible with no loops or rises. Just something to think about if you run out of projects.
Nice hammer swinging, Katie. Getting better with each swing. More wrist at the end of swing to engage the Coriolis effect. Genius fence pole, Greg. Works super good. Nice teamwork!!
Katy and Greg are a good team. 😅
Love your videos, and the progress on your homestead.
Just a little tip when having to drive long screws in that need alot of tork use screws that have a hex head or bolt head less slippage. 😊
