As a 5 bc player. Please always go to either Corrupted Prison or Prison Depths and always take cursed chests. They will help you immensely and the more you take cursed chests the less scary they get. In fact, you will welcome them because in higher bc's you will need them because every scroll counts. So please never skip them. Great vid btw!
That's a great perspective! I shy away from giving that advice off the bat to newer players because curse deaths early on can be brutal BUT it does build some muscle earlier in the game and might make later BCs not feel as scary having some curse clears under your belt. I say they're mandatory from 2BC but getting after them early is also a really solid idea. Thank you!
I'm yet to beat 5BC and most of my deaths in the optional biomes aren't because of the curse chests but instead getting overwhelmed later it the biome.

Loving these guides - they're fantastic. Just got my 1BC clear last night, and wanted to share a pseudo-tip that might have gotten glossed over. The legendaries that can drop can be really, really absurdly powerful. I know we know they're good, but like... I'm talking "here have your free win" good. At least, on the lower BC counts. I got a Symmetrical Lance IV-L with +300% damage inflicted on enemies and attacks from this weapon ignore force fields, and that thing let me practically face tank bosses as I got to them. Point being, if you're struggling and feel like you keep falling short, just let RNG do its thing - sometimes it may just toss you a free pass!
Nice, congrats on beating 1BC! Totally agree about some of those legendaries, especially things like Sym Lance and Flint. Sometimes the RNG gives us a free win!
I really like how you added the optimal time for fashion. It’s nice to have that after you said not to worry about outfits, in the beginners guide. It’s a lot nicer to have fashion as a specifically timed goal rather than an arbitrary “just ignore the cool outfits till later”.

At least you know now! The game makes you think that you can't carry your cells with you so I totally feel that. Time to get some extra cells for that Forge :D

I recommend turning on background filter in accessibility options to full white when you're looking for hidden stuff especially in dark areas like sepulcher. It also helps with visibility if you're out in the sunlight or in a really brightly lit room

watching you use Tactics got me excited to find more builds. I've been using Brutality so far and started using shields, works really well. just recently got to 1bc using the power of fire. its insane how much damage you can do with a proper build. btw your voice is very pleasant to listen to

Great video! I started this game a few weeks ago with your beginners guide video and I've not played much recently but I've gotten to 2bc pretty easily so far with around 25 runs. The game is a lot of fun. I've gotten used to the combat now and playing with shields feels nice, only thing that I'm struggling with so far is making builds. I usually just try to go to fractured shrines for the guaranteed legendary and just use that so I just use a shield and whatever melee weapon until then, but I'm trying to unlock some other weapons. And I usually just use a brutality weapon with a shield, I'm not sure what weapons to unlock for tactics and survival builds. I'm trying to focus on making synergies with the affixes of the weapons.
That's awesome, great work on getting to 2BC! Fractured Shrines is a nice detour when a build is starting to shape up. If you're looking to try out some Tactics or Survival items I would say to check out Quick Bow and Infantry Bow for Tactics, and Broadsword and Flint for Survival to see how you feel. They're all available pretty early on and give a couple of samples of what those styles are like (I think 50 cells total to unlock them all). For secondaries turrets and traps work great for Tactics and things slow or stun enemies (Ice Grenade, Wolf Trap, Root Grenade) are good secondaries for Survival.

@DisappointedGiant that's cool. Well, the lovers card is two sides to every coin and its duality. Your higher self and your lower self working as one. The 9 of swords usually represent anxiety.

when i played dead cells on XBOX i was using only the same weapon and unlocking only the busted weapons. now i am playing on mobile with a fresh start. and with your video explaining why unlocking everything at time is good, i am having a lot of fun not relying on the same weapon and tatic i love your videos

I’ve been playing dead cells 2 years ago until I beat 2bc after a looooooong time of suffering 😅 Since I recently got an Android Handheld I got the mobile version of it and started the grind again, now being kind of stuck at 1bc and no idea of what to unlock. Watching ur videos really gets me hyped up again for the game and the quality you offer as such a new content creator is amazing! I don’t comment or like on RUclips that often, but you got all my support and I hope you’ll strive and become as successful of a RUclips as you deserve ❤

@@DisappointedGiant literally the next run after posting the comment i got 2bc by getting the hotk weapon II as a legendary in Prisoners Quarters :D The last time it started getting painful at 2bc tho - it took me 3 times longer to beat than beating 0 and 1 bc together 😅 And I’m not really playing on a touchscreen - I got an AYN Odin, it’s basically an android smartphone built into a PS Vita/Switch case, so it’s much more comparable to playing on a switch on handheld mode. The only thing that’s annoying is being behind on patches all the time, but I take that trade to be able to play on the couch or on the train

Information he didnt say, some stages have different bosses, eg if got all the dlc and dont go directly to Castlevania dlc then after the first boss you will see a second boss at the castle, not death. Im still learning.

I took a short break from Dead Cells After beating 0BC but now I am back at I got too High Peek Castle that stupid beer guy came up out of nowhere and stabbed me through the back lol and I have nothing able to get back there so hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is the Training Room. You unlock it by searching the dead knights body at the end of the Prisoner's Quarters. It's great for practicing dodging or parrying enemies as you can choose which specific enemy you want to train against. Plus you won't have to worry about losing cells while you practice!

beat 3bc yesterday, and all i have to say for new/newer players is: try out different weapon combinations, you’d be surprised how some weapons that may seem trash can be absolutely brutal with with the right modifiers and the right weapon combination
Just beaten the 0BC thanks to your guide and watching this one! Damn, all I needed was just investing in Brutality and only in it. The final boss just melted in seconds with assassins dagger L with humorous 30k of DPS and fire based skills. Thanks man! Not sure how to make no hit run on bosses rather than parrying them to the death, but still I've managed to make 30-60 kills on levels like 3 out of 5 cases.
Congrats! I'm glad the videos helped you out. Over time you may get used to the bosses' patterns and attacks. You can also practice them in the training room!
I've played the game for 800 hours and have been running 5BC for like 600 of those, but that won't stop me from watching a beginner's guide series on the game.
Man, when I heard that this is one of your "shorter" guides I was amazed that you have the plan and will power to make videos that are longer than 11 min AND call this one short. I know how much it must take you to edit these videos and the only thing I can say is I hope you get more subscribers and more recognition, as you did in the last guide. You deserve it. About dead cells, since ur last guide I ve managed to beat 0bc and 1bc and the idea of only going into 2bc when your 50% for ++ is a good idea and that may help me in winning in 2bc. Thanks! P.S. That's great to hear about you beating both 0 and 1BC! I notice a big bump between 1 and 2BC so I funnel my anxiety about it into the ++ forge lol It does take a while for me to edit the videos and get the right footage but I really enjoy doing it. I got a quick question... How to fix stun lag lol. Sometimes my frames drop so bad that my character gets frozen. Won't move or anything... Sucks when it's a flawless run
There's a bug when using the Flawless item that does that. Sometimes you'll get hit and the whole game completely freezes for a few seconds. Is that what you meant by flawless run?

I pick up the game on mobile maybe half a month ago. Super fun. I managed to no-hit Conjunctivitis. Granted, it was a tactics build with quick bow and barbed tips. Thatll melt almost anything. I reached Hand of the King on a survival build, but I've failed all other attempts. Clock tower problems.
Clock Tower problems are legit. Congrats on the Conjunct no hit! That can be tricky with all the tentacles but it sounds like that Tactics build did you well.
@@DisappointedGiant it did do well. I get close to no-hitting the boss at Black Bridge, but his fire-red shield gets in the way. I dodge through attacks most of the time, but that doesnt seem avoidable. Yesterday, I killed Hand of the King on BC0 with a heavy crossbow and playing survival. Your tips in BC0 and 1 helped a lot. Have you done videos on other difficulties too? Time to do it on the other two stats before I really commit to BC1.
@@andrewgordon3589 Concierge's red shield is really tricky. You can barely roll through it but it's usually not worth trying and is better to just avoid it. That's great about being 0BC! Good idea about trying the other stats before bumping up the difficulty. It'll always be there when you're ready. :) I don't have any other BC tutorials up yet but am in the process of finishing a script for a 2BC/3BC/4BC combo video that I am hoping to have up by the end of next week.

I find it easier to play more like I'm on higher difficulties before I actually get there. By the way, have you ever done videos on bleed builds? I'm trying to understand how bleed works, but I dont make it very far each time I try it out
@@andrewgordon3589 good luck with the Giant! (I love that fight.) I haven't made any videos about specific types of builds like bleed at this point, but might do so after I finish the next two big tutorials I'm putting out. Bleed works similarly to Bloodborne or Dark Souls if you're familiar with those games - it does damage over time but if you get five stacks of bleed it will do a larger burst of damage. It doesn't hang around as much as poison or fire DoT so if you're leaning into it your best bet is to find items that can apply lots of bleed stacks relatively quickly to get that pop of burst damage before it runs out. Weapons like Throwing Knives and Blood Sword are decent sources and I find both Sinew Slicer and Cleaver to be really good. There's also a mutation called Open Wounds that applies bleed on your melee attacks so you could use that with Blood Sword for double bleed or take it with a faster weapon like Balanced Blade to get extra burst damage.
Quick question for OP. When would you try to beat the 3 chicks in the final DLC. The final part of that fight was the first time out of every boss I’ve fought I felt truly outclassed. Giant, Scarecrow and Tick were all cake for me. This, mot at all. Really enjoying your videos!!!
The Lighthouse is so different from the rest of the game. I hear you about the fight with all of them being a big difficulty spike (the climb can be rough, too)! I personally take the Servants/Queen path when I have a smooth build that does big damage quickly - think something like a Tactics build with a strong main weapon, good synergies, and leaning into mutations that amp up damage (Support rules if you can find a turret). If your damage doesn't feel great as you're playing or if your build hasn't had a chance to gel by the time you can take the Queen path it might feel tough. I personally enjoy lots of small fast damage (Brutality or Tactics with some kind of status effect) and have had the best luck with that. I have a video in my archive of my first flawless Servants fight that has a bunch of notes in the pinned comment with some extra strategies that might be helpful. A couple of other things: if you've moved past 0BC there's no shame in dropping back down until you get more comfortable with the Lighthouse. Also, you can use the training room or boss rush to get some reps with the fight. In the last phase of the fight only two of them can be active at the same time, so it's about balancing between the patterns of whichever two are on screen. If you've played Hollow Knight it's like a more frantic Mantis Lords fight. Good luck with the fight, let me know how things turn out! Hey very cool guide ! I actually beated 0bc on a fluke because I found an op combo (bat + throwing knife + root shit). Since I have been stuck in a 1bc. I actually have unlocked a lot of stuff but don’t most of it. I especially struggle on hand of the king but if i will get him sometime !
I finished watching this video and after that I attempted 1bc one more time and I actually managed to beat it edit: I was using a baseball bat I got at the 60 kill door in toxic sewers and a diversed deck I got in prisoners' quarters and those were doing most of the work lol
I wonder how to created all those example from the game itself. What's this could be useful for? Did you create them on purpose from the beginning? Great video! Any tips for farming cells? Took a few stabs at 1BC but decided not to take the full plunge and dedicate myself yet due to not having a lot of weapons and very few mutations but the cell farm is going so slow.
Sure! There are a few methods I can think of. One is to play normally and try to get both the kill doors and timed doors for the bonus 20 cells in each, and to take a route through the most levels that have both doors.The I prefer is PQ > Promenade (2min) > Ramparts (8m) > Concierge > Stilt Village (15m & flawless Concierge door) > Forgotten Sepulcher (26m). Take Velocity as a mutation and go nuts! Another is playing boss rush. I'm not a big fan of boss rush in general but what I do love about it is that after clearing a trial there's a forge. If you go through the first door you'll fight three regular bosses in a row and then will net yourself a decent chunk of cells (I think somewhere between 100-200) and can dump them right in the forge. Lastly, if you're OK using custom mode you can turn on the "Hitchcock" option to turn some of the enemies in the biomes into flying enemies like the bats (this will lock achievements though). Since they have low health you can remove items from the pool so you'll always have an Electric Whip and can get some pretty quick kills. If you're into Aspects the Superconductor one will spread damage even more. All of these methods can also be made faster by turning down enemy health to 20% in assist mode so if that's something you're open to it'll make things go by even quicker (especially if you do boss rush)!
This might be a controversial opion but I feel as 1BC should be harder, as the jump from 1-2BC is alot larger than from 0-1BC I remeber beating 1BC the day after I beat 0BC, and then getting angery when I immensely struggled in 2BC. Also tip for 1BC: take every curse chest, It will greatly increase your skill and give you an extra scroll for the run.
There is definitely a bigger bump between 1 and 2BC than I think any other of the difficulties. 1BC used to be more in line with what you're saying but they toned it down at some point over the past couple of years. I hear you about the cursed chest opinion - someone else had that a similar thought so I pinned that for everyone to see. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this guide. Was able to beat 1BC yesterday quite quickly after actually doing my first 0BC clear with the help of this video. Looking forward to the 2BC and beyond video. One thing I was wondering though is the attack speed of enemies when progressing from 0BC. It really feels like the wind up for attacks from enemies is shorter. Skeleton attacks, bats exploding, etc. Is this really a thing or am I just imagining it?
Congrats on beating 1BC! Enemies on 1BC behave the same as 0BC but their density and groupings change. They do hit harder though, so maybe that's also putting a spin on things.
Tainted flask is really good as well but it's optional and more as a third mutation slot only if you don't have something else in mind still a shame that you didn't even mention it also acceptance and alienation are also in that same boat Also im on 5BC with 130Hrs Yeah i know i used this celeste music replacer which apparently made everything Zero BC difficulty idk thats my best guess
I only mentioned Disengagement and Gastronomy because I think they're both universally helpful for any build as difficulty goes up. Tainted Flask is also great, though!
I’m currently on 1BC I’ve been going for the giant (Sewers pathway then caven) but been getting recked every time i get to caven. Should I just go the black bridge/ clock tower route instead? Thank you!
Congrats on getting to 1BC! It might be worth going back down to 0BC to have some extra HP and damage to get to the Cavern so you can check it out. The Giant is a big and cool boss so he's worth seeing. After that, maybe bump back up to 1BC and take some other routes like the ones through Concierge or Clock Tower.
today i tried for the first time 1BC and i got to the last boss 2 times (on 5-6 run) (then I tried to do it with custom mode but that took all the pressure away and I died). So I hope i cant beat 1BC fast With your advice, I especially want to beat 1BC because I heard that this is how we unlock the item tubes at the start of the game. !
Me whos on 0BC with the ++ catagory maxed as much as possible. Help xD jk I will say this dude deserves more praise. Hes talked about how costumes make you feel more how you identify, which i agree with. And he has amazing advice
The Forge dictates what % of items have higher quality. The higher the quality you have on your items, the more damage they do so you'll kill enemies faster. You'll also have more gold for other things (rerolls, food shops, etc) instead of spending it to increase item quality. On higher difficulties having lower gear quality can make things more challenging than they need to be!
i recently got into castlevania DLC and game mentioned i can access it once per run; does that mean i can go to castle outskirts OR the castle keep at a time?
Right now yes, that's the case - Outskirts at the beginning or the Castle after Timekeeper. In the next update (3.5) they added some new paths so you can go route through the Castlevania levels more than once, which will be great!
Did you use an aspect when you beat Hand of the King? If so, you won't get the boss cell. If you do have it you can put it in at the tubes at the beginning where all the item jars are. If you can't change BC you can restart your run and try it before going through any of the doors, that might work.
That might be a positioning thing. If the head can't reach the blueprint you might be too far to the left, and if it snaps back too far to the right. You can do it!
BC is boss cell, which is the difficulty level of the game. Once you beat the last boss you'll get a boss cell and can use it to make the game a little harder (called 1BC for one boss cell), all the way up to 5.
Hi there! Were you using an aspect during your run? Those prevent you from getting the next Boss Cell. The next BC should drop the next time you beat one of the final bosses. deadcells.wiki.gg/wiki/Aspects
Everything you can get on 0BC you can get on 1BC but it might be helpful to play on 0BC until you unlock all of your meta upgrades (flasks, recycling, etc.) and fill up the + on the Forge.

theres a 1% chance of a cursed chest in prisoners quaters so keep an eye out for that

For 0, 1 and 2 BC cursed Chests are not neccessary. I would (for newer players) recommend against taking it. @@DisappointedGiant

I really like how you added the optimal time for fashion. It’s nice to have that after you said not to worry about outfits, in the beginners guide. It’s a lot nicer to have fashion as a specifically timed goal rather than an arbitrary “just ignore the cool outfits till later”.

one thing i wish i knew earlier when grinding for cells for the legendary forge is you can break the door after the collector😭😭😭
i used to put all my cells after every biome into the collector’s hands instead of breaking the door so i can save them for after a boss biome 💀💀
At least you know now! The game makes you think that you can't carry your cells with you so I totally feel that. Time to get some extra cells for that Forge :D

I recommend turning on background filter in accessibility options to full white when you're looking for hidden stuff especially in dark areas like sepulcher. It also helps with visibility if you're out in the sunlight or in a really brightly lit room

Great video! I started this game a few weeks ago with your beginners guide video and I've not played much recently but I've gotten to 2bc pretty easily so far with around 25 runs. The game is a lot of fun. I've gotten used to the combat now and playing with shields feels nice, only thing that I'm struggling with so far is making builds. I usually just try to go to fractured shrines for the guaranteed legendary and just use that so I just use a shield and whatever melee weapon until then, but I'm trying to unlock some other weapons. And I usually just use a brutality weapon with a shield, I'm not sure what weapons to unlock for tactics and survival builds. I'm trying to focus on making synergies with the affixes of the weapons.
That's awesome, great work on getting to 2BC! Fractured Shrines is a nice detour when a build is starting to shape up.
If you're looking to try out some Tactics or Survival items I would say to check out Quick Bow and Infantry Bow for Tactics, and Broadsword and Flint for Survival to see how you feel. They're all available pretty early on and give a couple of samples of what those styles are like (I think 50 cells total to unlock them all). For secondaries turrets and traps work great for Tactics and things slow or stun enemies (Ice Grenade, Wolf Trap, Root Grenade) are good secondaries for Survival.

@DisappointedGiant that's cool. Well, the lovers card is two sides to every coin and its duality. Your higher self and your lower self working as one. The 9 of swords usually represent anxiety.

Hopefully your journey to 2BC on your Android is a little less painful than your original trip now that you have some more experience. Also, much respect for playing on mobile. That sounds so challenging compared to console or PC!

The last time it started getting painful at 2bc tho - it took me 3 times longer to beat than beating 0 and 1 bc together 😅
And I’m not really playing on a touchscreen - I got an AYN Odin, it’s basically an android smartphone built into a PS Vita/Switch case, so it’s much more comparable to playing on a switch on handheld mode.
The only thing that’s annoying is being behind on patches all the time, but I take that trade to be able to play on the couch or on the train

Information he didnt say, some stages have different bosses, eg if got all the dlc and dont go directly to Castlevania dlc then after the first boss you will see a second boss at the castle, not death.

After beating 0BC but now I am back at I got too High Peek Castle that stupid beer guy came up out of nowhere and stabbed me through the back lol and I have nothing able to get back there so hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is the Training Room. You unlock it by searching the dead knights body at the end of the Prisoner's Quarters. It's great for practicing dodging or parrying enemies as you can choose which specific enemy you want to train against. Plus you won't have to worry about losing cells while you practice!

Thank you, been burning myself out on the game trying to get to 2 BC. Hoping that after I get the hang of shield parrying some of the heavier hitting enemies like the reaper swordsmen guys I'll be able to make more progress.
Hopefully this video is helpful for you. Parrying is a great mechanic, definitely takes some of the wind out of those big enemies that hit heavy.

beat 3bc yesterday, and all i have to say for new/newer players is: try out different weapon combinations, you’d be surprised how some weapons that may seem trash can be absolutely brutal with with the right modifiers and the right weapon combination

Just beaten the 0BC thanks to your guide and watching this one! Damn, all I needed was just investing in Brutality and only in it. The final boss just melted in seconds with assassins dagger L with humorous 30k of DPS and fire based skills. Thanks man! Not sure how to make no hit run on bosses rather than parrying them to the death, but still I've managed to make 30-60 kills on levels like 3 out of 5 cases.

Sometimes my frames drop so bad that my character gets frozen. Won't move or anything... Sucks when it's a flawless run
There's a bug when using the Flawless item that does that. Sometimes you'll get hit and the whole game completely freezes for a few seconds. Is that what you meant by flawless run?

I pick up the game on mobile maybe half a month ago. Super fun.
I managed to no-hit Conjunctivitis. Granted, it was a tactics build with quick bow and barbed tips. Thatll melt almost anything. I reached Hand of the King on a survival build, but I've failed all other attempts. Clock tower problems.
Clock Tower problems are legit. Congrats on the Conjunct no hit! That can be tricky with all the tentacles but it sounds like that Tactics build did you well.
@@DisappointedGiant it did do well. I get close to no-hitting the boss at Black Bridge, but his fire-red shield gets in the way. I dodge through attacks most of the time, but that doesnt seem avoidable.
Yesterday, I killed Hand of the King on BC0 with a heavy crossbow and playing survival. Your tips in BC0 and 1 helped a lot. Have you done videos on other difficulties too?
Time to do it on the other two stats before I really commit to BC1.
@@andrewgordon3589 Concierge's red shield is really tricky. You can barely roll through it but it's usually not worth trying and is better to just avoid it. That's great about being 0BC! Good idea about trying the other stats before bumping up the difficulty. It'll always be there when you're ready. :)
I don't have any other BC tutorials up yet but am in the process of finishing a script for a 2BC/3BC/4BC combo video that I am hoping to have up by the end of next week.

@@andrewgordon3589 good luck with the Giant! (I love that fight.) I haven't made any videos about specific types of builds like bleed at this point, but might do so after I finish the next two big tutorials I'm putting out.
Bleed works similarly to Bloodborne or Dark Souls if you're familiar with those games - it does damage over time but if you get five stacks of bleed it will do a larger burst of damage. It doesn't hang around as much as poison or fire DoT so if you're leaning into it your best bet is to find items that can apply lots of bleed stacks relatively quickly to get that pop of burst damage before it runs out. Weapons like Throwing Knives and Blood Sword are decent sources and I find both Sinew Slicer and Cleaver to be really good. There's also a mutation called Open Wounds that applies bleed on your melee attacks so you could use that with Blood Sword for double bleed or take it with a faster weapon like Balanced Blade to get extra burst damage.

Quick question for OP. When would you try to beat the 3 chicks in the final DLC. The final part of that fight was the first time out of every boss I’ve fought I felt truly outclassed. Giant, Scarecrow and Tick were all cake for me. This, mot at all. Really enjoying your videos!!!
The Lighthouse is so different from the rest of the game. I hear you about the fight with all of them being a big difficulty spike (the climb can be rough, too)!
I personally take the Servants/Queen path when I have a smooth build that does big damage quickly - think something like a Tactics build with a strong main weapon, good synergies, and leaning into mutations that amp up damage (Support rules if you can find a turret). If your damage doesn't feel great as you're playing or if your build hasn't had a chance to gel by the time you can take the Queen path it might feel tough. I personally enjoy lots of small fast damage (Brutality or Tactics with some kind of status effect) and have had the best luck with that. I have a video in my archive of my first flawless Servants fight that has a bunch of notes in the pinned comment with some extra strategies that might be helpful.
A couple of other things: if you've moved past 0BC there's no shame in dropping back down until you get more comfortable with the Lighthouse. Also, you can use the training room or boss rush to get some reps with the fight. In the last phase of the fight only two of them can be active at the same time, so it's about balancing between the patterns of whichever two are on screen. If you've played Hollow Knight it's like a more frantic Mantis Lords fight. Good luck with the fight, let me know how things turn out!

0bc and i love the game still struggling to get to 1 bc
Great video! Any tips for farming cells? Took a few stabs at 1BC but decided not to take the full plunge and dedicate myself yet due to not having a lot of weapons and very few mutations but the cell farm is going so slow.
Sure! There are a few methods I can think of. One is to play normally and try to get both the kill doors and timed doors for the bonus 20 cells in each, and to take a route through the most levels that have both doors.The I prefer is PQ > Promenade (2min) > Ramparts (8m) > Concierge > Stilt Village (15m & flawless Concierge door) > Forgotten Sepulcher (26m). Take Velocity as a mutation and go nuts!
Another is playing boss rush. I'm not a big fan of boss rush in general but what I do love about it is that after clearing a trial there's a forge. If you go through the first door you'll fight three regular bosses in a row and then will net yourself a decent chunk of cells (I think somewhere between 100-200) and can dump them right in the forge.
Lastly, if you're OK using custom mode you can turn on the "Hitchcock" option to turn some of the enemies in the biomes into flying enemies like the bats (this will lock achievements though). Since they have low health you can remove items from the pool so you'll always have an Electric Whip and can get some pretty quick kills. If you're into Aspects the Superconductor one will spread damage even more. All of these methods can also be made faster by turning down enemy health to 20% in assist mode so if that's something you're open to it'll make things go by even quicker (especially if you do boss rush)!
This might be a controversial opion but I feel as 1BC should be harder, as the jump from 1-2BC is alot larger than from 0-1BC I remeber beating 1BC the day after I beat 0BC, and then getting angery when I immensely struggled in 2BC.
Also tip for 1BC: take every curse chest, It will greatly increase your skill and give you an extra scroll for the run.
There is definitely a bigger bump between 1 and 2BC than I think any other of the difficulties. 1BC used to be more in line with what you're saying but they toned it down at some point over the past couple of years. I hear you about the cursed chest opinion - someone else had that a similar thought so I pinned that for everyone to see. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this guide. Was able to beat 1BC yesterday quite quickly after actually doing my first 0BC clear with the help of this video. Looking forward to the 2BC and beyond video. One thing I was wondering though is the attack speed of enemies when progressing from 0BC. It really feels like the wind up for attacks from enemies is shorter. Skeleton attacks, bats exploding, etc. Is this really a thing or am I just imagining it?
Congrats on beating 1BC! Enemies on 1BC behave the same as 0BC but their density and groupings change. They do hit harder though, so maybe that's also putting a spin on things.
Only advice use explosive crossbow this weapon alone made me finish 1BC first try
Tainted flask is really good as well but it's optional and more as a third mutation slot only if you don't have something else in mind still a shame that you didn't even mention it also acceptance and alienation are also in that same boat

I only mentioned Disengagement and Gastronomy because I think they're both universally helpful for any build as difficulty goes up. Tainted Flask is also great, though!

I’m currently on 1BC I’ve been going for the giant (Sewers pathway then caven) but been getting recked every time i get to caven. Should I just go the black bridge/ clock tower route instead? Thank you!
Also should I just ignore the giant for now and just focus on getting to the king again?
Congrats on getting to 1BC! It might be worth going back down to 0BC to have some extra HP and damage to get to the Cavern so you can check it out. The Giant is a big and cool boss so he's worth seeing. After that, maybe bump back up to 1BC and take some other routes like the ones through Concierge or Clock Tower.
today i tried for the first time 1BC and i got to the last boss 2 times (on 5-6 run) (then I tried to do it with custom mode but that took all the pressure away and I died).
So I hope i cant beat 1BC fast With your advice, I especially want to beat 1BC because I heard that this is how we unlock the item tubes at the start of the game. !

Why is the forge important to help progress through the higher difficulties?
The Forge dictates what % of items have higher quality. The higher the quality you have on your items, the more damage they do so you'll kill enemies faster. You'll also have more gold for other things (rerolls, food shops, etc) instead of spending it to increase item quality. On higher difficulties having lower gear quality can make things more challenging than they need to be!
i recently got into castlevania DLC and game mentioned i can access it once per run; does that mean i can go to castle outskirts OR the castle keep at a time?
Right now yes, that's the case - Outskirts at the beginning or the Castle after Timekeeper. In the next update (3.5) they added some new paths so you can go route through the Castlevania levels more than once, which will be great!

Did you use an aspect when you beat Hand of the King? If so, you won't get the boss cell. If you do have it you can put it in at the tubes at the beginning where all the item jars are. If you can't change BC you can restart your run and try it before going through any of the doors, that might work.

That might be a positioning thing. If the head can't reach the blueprint you might be too far to the left, and if it snaps back too far to the right. You can do it!
Been playing... not understanding what BC is... just filled the first forge bar.
BC is boss cell, which is the difficulty level of the game. Once you beat the last boss you'll get a boss cell and can use it to make the game a little harder (called 1BC for one boss cell), all the way up to 5.

Hi there! Were you using an aspect during your run? Those prevent you from getting the next Boss Cell. The next BC should drop the next time you beat one of the final bosses.

is there any reason to play 0bcs when i unlocked 1bc?
Everything you can get on 0BC you can get on 1BC but it might be helpful to play on 0BC until you unlock all of your meta upgrades (flasks, recycling, etc.) and fill up the + on the Forge.

Are you using an aspect? That will keep the boss cell from dropping.
