I agree with your analysis from the things that were pointed out he was wasting a lot of tempo going for safety and security for his king instead of bringing the game to Magnus when he had the momentum and opportunity

Exactly. I think the sheer intimidation from Magnus can bring down most a hundred elo mentally 😭
How can someone be rated so high and only an IM? I know online elo is conflated but surely they could easily be 2600 classical?
I was wondering same thing how can he be rated over 3000 but still be IM maybe he needs to defeat some high ranking GMs to raise his own status ?
