I assumed that the difficulty of the task was shown by the number of beers in the opening shot. This one has five 30 packs! But it was actually pretty easy, I'd give it a two beers (plus one for the road--just cuz)
I've used the 2 brass bushings from ZOR and they're light years above the plastic and I would never buy anything else. Shifts are tight all the time and you never have to worry about them.

Put a sticker on my hard hat.The 2wd trans I put in the Streetmobile is super sloppy.I have bushings coming.Still waiting for the header so I can redo the exhaust then I will be back to daily driving a samurai again!
I just got a tracker and the shifter feels super loose like when I tried to unscrew the knob the whole shaft turned. Haven’t had it far enough apart yet to check everything
The spring on the shifter of my 97 Tracker broke. I drove it like that with a sloppy shifter for a little while until it stopped shifting into 1st, 3rd, and 5th. I replaced the spring on the shifter, so it’s no longer loose, but it still only shifts into 2nd, 4th, and R. I have been having a hard diagnosing this online. Does it sound like an issue with the shift linkage? A bushing? A cable? Pls help

i have a shifting problem just when car is cold, when i just start it, and drive it, have problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear then when 2nd gear is reached, have problems moving to 3rd gear, after i get to 3rd gear it means i wont have any more problems driving it, as i told it happens when is just fresh start and driving, after 1-2 minutes im able to drive normally as long as the car is worm, what could it be?
Do you know how to fix a loose shifter on an automatic tracker? It can be shifted through the gears without the shifter button being pressed in.. took it to a mechanic because it stopped shifting into park and low and then the shifter came back loose in all the gears but jams in park..
I just got done dropping a different motor in my 1994 geo tracker. The motor is a G16a , i have pretty much everything ready to fire it up except when i went to install the front spark plug either i fucked the threads up or they were that way, but i need to know the thread size so i can buy a tap for it.
I disarmed the shifter on my 96 sidekick sport since there is alot of play side to side. Comparing to the video there is a big difference, the bottom bushing where the ball seat in its actually reversed and the bushing is clicked in the shifter lever. Is that normal?

Also on the bottom of the shifter I see some Grey stuff, looks like oil, does it suppose to have oil there or be dry?
