    I have a 1983 Jaoanese SJ410 with a 998CC engine, rubber matting, no rear window, seats or any luxuries, it a commercial vehicle, slow as anything, and it came with weird 165SR15 tyres which were thin looking, but I love it. US was lucky in that they got fuel injection etc.

    If you want a geo tracker 16 valves to fly or be stronger put a adapter and skunk manifold from a d16z6 honda engine or the d16z6 manifold with the p28 ECM send the geo tracker 16 valves distributor with the d16z6 honda one to Puerto Rico and they will take them apart and weld them in and bingo mostly junkyards parts and cheap put it together and take the geo tracker to tune and by the end of the day you will have a little monster plus you can turbo the geo tracker man man a lot of power cost 400 for the distributor to be made and 80 for the manifold adapter all together around 1000 dollar including the tune .Now with a 272 Delta cam regrind and header and lighter flywheel and free flow exhaust system you talking easy around 140 hp and with a ebay turbo set up a lot more around 6 to 8 pounds of boost stock parts.For samurai k20 or k24 engine transmission with turbo around 250 hp to 300 hp all stock parts .And in puerto rico for 2500 hundred you can get a d16z6 engine with 400 hp turbo and tune nothing special regular build and put it in a geo tracker easy build and simple and even the hell cat have to fight hard to see the lights in a Geo tracker higher rpm imagen bro is that simple nothing special streets knowledge old school and yes out here we have them call low riders spocky jjjjjj 😁

    Nice vid. I'm looking at a Geo on marketplace. A 94 for $4000 that looks almost rust free. My old man keeps giving me crap for wanting one. He says just get something more reliable and not something thats gonna turn into a money pit. But from everything I see online, it sounds like these cars are reliable, pretty straightforward to work on and parts are readily available. I know a few things but I'm not much of a mechanic so idk can anyone help me out?

    • @Hwy83SUZUKI
      @Hwy83SUZUKI 3 месяца назад +2

      Very reliable but they are 30 + years old. So you'll have oil leaks from dried up seals and wear and tear parts are going to need attention. The foundation of Japanese drivetrain is rock solid 👌

      We restored and wrapped a tin top 1995 tracker in 2020 use as a daily around Los Angeles and people fucking love it, also owed a 95 tracker in Michigan. Dead reliable as Tony says they are older so on occasion something is gonna need attention for sure but easy to work on and not hard to get parts not as easy as some but not as hard as a mechanic will claim. Start with a good base and you’ll be fine. I had mine in Detroit in the 90’s and the GM engineer parents would all give me shit for it. Then one day in a massive snow ice storm they were all stuck couldn’t leave homes, several feet of snow. Here I come just bombing up a hill my skid plate cutting through snow. They still talk about it fondly today and that was the day they had proper respect for Japanese cars. Most of them after retiring went Japanese.

    Year models 1996+ for OBD2 is this just a North American thing?
    I own a 1997 SV420 Vitara here in Australia but I'm fairly sure mine still has the OBD1 port still 🤔
    I think it was 2005/2006 Australia mandated OBD2, but it didn't stop some manufacturers adding it earlier than that.
    I borrowed my friends cheap $150 OBD2 scan tool from Supercheap Auto and it works in my newer 2020 Suzuki Jimny, but not in my 1997 Vitara so I'm unsure if its OBD1? Or just a cheap scan tool that doesn't recognise the OBD2 Vitara port?
