I saw these supporting TOP in Manchester in 2017. Good singer, average band, dreadfully boring bass player,. He relies on the old root 5th, 7th pattern.. Jeez. Learn some new bass lines mate. You must have been intimidated by being followed by the legend Rocco, a real bass player. Once again on this track, why did’nt you copy James Jameson’s great bass line? Not able to, I suspect.

Sorry , love most of Weller‘s stuff but this sucks big time . White guys trying to copy Marvin.. both of them suck .Weller is good with his own style but he is out of his league here .
it's got nothing to do with colour and i'm sad to read your comment highlighting that...Of course if you don't like the sound or performance then thats your opinion, but saying you don't like it because it's 'white guys trying to copy Marvin' isn't called for...I'm sure everyone on that stage wouldn't ever imagine they could equal Marvin Gaye's musical beauty...but to my mind, heart and soul they are performing the song as a spiritual 'call to arms'...and I'm sure in that respect, Marvin himself would endorse them...In this present time we need more hope , love and kindness...
