Protracted withdrawal can happen 12 months or more after discontinuation of SSRI. Doctors know nothing. It’s heartbreaking. Tragic.

this is exactly what i've been looking for! i've had several depressive episodes and a few panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. i was taking it out on my kids, screaming at them. This was the reason for me to go on sertraline. nobody mentioned to me the tapering off is such a long and difficult process. i've been on it for 5 months now, it is helping a lot but i do want to address my issues and develop skills to fix them. Thank you Dr Horowitz...i will for sure buy your book!

Never take heroin , and never take anti depressant since I’ve experienced both and still in withdrawals. That should already click in that both are suffering and torture however, but…, I believe the anti depressant venlafaxine is hella drug to get off. At least with heroin, if u go to a addiction doctor that will guide you properly on methodone and taper slowly and took years ….!

This guys is awesome. Thank you Dr Mark H 🙏🙏 GP's are not equipped to be telling people they are "depressed" , that they will "have to take these for the rest of your life". Not good enough,. well meaning but taught wrong.

Its took me 6yrs to get off my antidepressants. No advise from drs. I don't think my bodies nerves are coping without the snri's. Has my body become over sensitive since I have stopped the snri's, shoud I start them again or put up with the agony?
30yrs of drugs f..ed up my life on the drugs. Stuffed up my GI tract. GI,pain, irritability, rumination, constipation. I have been through the memory issues and tiredness issues on the drugs. My concentration was very bad I got anxiety because I became scared of forgetting things. Physical dependance is the same as addiction to me,just a drug company's description to make themselves look better.

I relate to being alone in your youth, although I still struggle with the amount of cruelty that was dished out to me being different. I'd like to think that happens less these days but I doubt it. As an adult I still feel like that outsider, but I'm kind of ok about it.. I'm proud to be intelligent but I still feel that when most people see that part of me they react badly. Ironically, when I went through a period of being a stoner I was more accepted by society. My advice to young people is that if you stand out as an individual groupthink will result in others causing you harm, most people will never grow out of groupthink. Unfortunately to get through life you may need to find a way to mask your individuality but never succumb to the groupthink...or you might just lose yourself.

Paroxetine saved my life. No argument. I didn’t realize how tough it would be to get off it though. Mark Horowitz is a light in the dark night. Bless you, sir.
And thank you to the gracious and thoughtful interviewer for providing a place for Mark to enlighten those who are suffering from withdrawals. 🙏🏻❤️💯

How are you now Dr Horowitz??? Are you still having withdrawal symptoms?? I’ve gone through protracted withdrawal three times and reinstated. I’m in the middle of it now. How do I get off forever??

1 tab of LSD is around 120ug, if you cut that tab into 16 you have 16 micro doses of LSD around 8ug, NOW take 1 ONE of those micro doses, of 8ug ,get a lightproof flask 1 ltr size, put the 1 one microdose of 8ug in that flask fill it with water and leave for a hour to dilute,
Every day I take a tiny little dribble in a cup tea/coffee morning afternoon and night ,
This acts an an anti inflammatory, no cortex distortions at all ever
This anti inflammatory affects the Amygdala , this is the root of your Depression (its complicated but every single doctor of any kind you ever meet will tell you the Amygdala is just fight of flight , they are all wrong, see "Nim Tottenham" research to understand why the doctors are wrong)
This will result in you FEELING much calmer, this physical relaxation is very palpable , BUT the SSRI's break the communication between your Amygdala and the cortex,
SO at first your cortex created sense of self will not be aware of it ,But it will slowly change the CD that plays in your head
And also keep you physically calm ,If you are Autistic, this may bring floods of tears of relief and joy, and that CD that plays in your head will really start to change,
And everyone around you will be oh so much nicer, it will have you crying all the time, in blissful happiness's,
Once the communication starts to open up with the lower brain
So when the communication opens up , you will also be prevented from hearing that old hateful angry snarling tiger that keeps telling you to run and hide , because your Amygdala in now un inflamed
This calmness and reset, means that when the horrors happen they are not as un managable, aAnd that lingering panic resets on a cup of tea
Like the ancient women taught us all , "put the kettle on" the Witch wants to put a little drop in it :)
Magic Mushrooms, 2 in a pot of tea, let it brew, put in flask no milk, again just a dribble is needed,
The ancients Druids left you a message
"you are away with the faires" where do fairies live ?
Also the dosage and sensitivity to it
"the Princess and the Pea" Princess means Blue blood, feeling blue, got the blues
Stay away from cocaine and all other drugs, except weed
LSD also affects the Dopamine so you get a little more happy on LSD , and of note for Heroin or Alcoholics
Magic Mushrooms does not affect the dopamine, so it was traditionally also put in Beer :)

I'm experiencing protracted withdrawal syndrome from having clonazepam forcibly stopped after being on it for 30 years. There's no way that doctors don't know about protracted withdrawal!
