Have any of you tried quilting with rulers? I'd love to hear what you think of quilting with rulers vs free hand allover quilting! If you like this quilt top, be sure to subscribe--I have a tutorial for my stripe matching method coming very soon!
Love this! Mind me asking though the size of this block that fits that ruler? Was thinking about actually doing an orange peel quilt and using a ruler to machine quilt the tops of the orange peels but will design the block size to fit the ruler shape thanks!
I want you to know I come back to your videos again and again to figure out how to simplify my quilting as I am on a domestic. I hope you are doing well. Your advice lives on L)
I was enjoying the pics of the quilt in my feed, but after watching you so skillfully do that simple and graceful motif on it, now I know I'll end up trying it, and you prove that fussy-cutting is worth it when you get the results!
Wow! The orange peel quilt motif is perfect for those stripes. It gives the boxes more dimension, but does not make it too busy. Great choice! I am too poor to buy quilting rulers, but I get by with handmade cardboard shapes when I quilt on a domestic machine. I have an endless supply that way. Every time I empty a box of cereal, I glean it for the template possibilities. (:
I really enjoyed this video. Are you using any of the marks on the ruler to ensure each arc and orange peel section are the same height and length? I would like to see more quilting with rulers. I only have a domestic machine and I have a few quilting rulers but I have trouble understanding how to use the marks on the rulers to get consistent results. Thanks again for a great video. Your camera work really allows us to see the quilting and helps so much.
Can you talk about your long arm machine. How long you have been long arming, how you picked out your machine. What is the tube on your machine with rule marks on it. Thank you!

I noticed the overall pattern looked like the 'circle magic' quilts in a MSC video I saw. It's so cool!
WOWZA🎉 You are a great Long Arm quilter and very precise in your design skills! GREAT JOB ON THIS QUILT! 🎉❤
Beautiful work and it looks so much easier than I thought it would.

That’s smart! You can try so many things that way!
I like this method so much. Good quilting pattern for the stripes. Thanks for demonstrating it and doing so in an efficient manner across the quilt.
Im so glad you liked it! This has been one of my favorite quilts I’ve made this year :)
Love it!
Those are a fun new tool I need to look into for my quilt!
Rulers are really fun to use! You should give it a try!
This video makes me want to try ruler work! You are magic :)
You can totally do it!

Love the orange peel quilting, and the stripped quilt fabric is beautiful!
Thank you! And yes! I’ll do a video on my longarm very soon!
Thank you for this tutorial on rulers. Can you post the name of the ruler
Is there a link for the ruler you can share?
What is the measuring tape sticker looking thing on the bar of your machine? What's it called and where can I get one please???
It’s called a longarm centering tape. It’s nice to center things so you know your edges are staying consistent. It’s super handy!

Such a fun quilt, and I love the quilting design! Did you wear sunglasses while stitching...?! 😎😁
Thanks! It really is super bright. We missed you Saturday!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts I was so bummed to miss being there for the color challenge... (had to go to a funeral 🙁)
