I just got mine and it was confusing me because i have the m4a1 with the Ris 3 but its not ambidextrous. It also has the mid length gas. Its all FDE with just M4A1 lasered on.
Bought mine 10 yrs ago and couldn't decide between this and thre BCM.... but really wanted the ris ll rail. Maybe the BCM would have been a better choice, but that ris ll fde with matching furniture is awesome!
The RIS 3 is a very, very nice and sturdy mlok rail. But the RIS 2 is a timeless classic that has been tested in combat time and time again. I personally love my RIS 2 and plan to build a MK18 clone whenever I get around to getting an RC2.
I have even an older version than that RIS 2, which was an extremely rare upper back then ( finish quality is also not as great) and it made me either look stupid (too thick and heavy/ clone correct mall ninja) or feel proud of the accuracy. 14 years of ownership so far, no malfunction and still holding 1moa accuracy after 10k rounds.
I can’t understand why on videos were commentary is the focal point people run audio that overpowers it? Great video but absolutely ruined it with the wrong balance of background music.
@@kalanipitmon7817 I bought it off a reputable dealer with in house gunsmith from Gunbroker…. I can only search my orders for the past 90 days so I can’t give specifics. But the net net….it was sold with the warcomp on it. Hence the purchase. All my suppressors are Surefire.
Guns definetly get alot heavier once you add a light, sling, optics, etc my mk18 feels heavy for how small it is i have a 14.5 that feels about the same weight with less stuff on the 14.5 just a red dot and buis and a sling kept it simple as possible has a hand stop also. The ris 3 looks pretty nice too
For a rifle to be considered short barreled it will have a barrel length of less than 16 inches, which requires a tax stamp and extra paperwork to register with the ATF. In order to avoid this, you can have a 14.5 inch barrel with a 1.5 inch muzzle break permanently welded/pinned to the end of the barrel to meet the 16 inch requirement. This saves you an inch and a half in total length vs a normal 16 inch barrel with a removable muzzle break, however you're stuck with what you've got so you can't change it out later if you would want to.
@@marcuswilliams7143 You have to drill it. You should take it to a gunsmith. They will replace the muzzle device with the one of your choice. They will have to pin and weld the new one unless you live in a free state and pay the tax stamp to make it an SBR. Us in Commiefornia don't even get that option.

New version also comes with a mid length gas system versus the carbine length in the original
I’m old school. Long story short, Sold my M4 quad R2, had to make ends meet. Then bought another R2 M4, the new one was out but I love that quad look.
Old is gold
My Ris II rails will always be king in my book mk18, and my M4A1 are both Ris II
No other gun is more beautiful than D.D. M4A1… omg I just love it so much… 🥺❤️

There's only ~1oz difference between a 9.5 RIII to 9.5 RIS II. Weight is prob not gonna matter in this case.
Your music is louder than the audio. Very annoying.
@@ViolentbyDesignhe’s helping improve his videos
Also the ris 2 m4a1s have a carbine gas system where the ris 3 all have mid length
yup. the mid length shoots softer than the carbine length.
5.56 is easy eenuff on recoil that it doesent even make a difference.

Nice rifles. Thanks for the content
The RIS III handguard is 1oz lighter than the RIS II handguard.
Would you even be able to tell the difference? That’s not much at all.
The RIS II hands down!
Why?
Built like a tank. Pic accessories won't fly off from RISII.
I enjoyed your video .Thank you.
Are the ris II and ris III handguards interchangeable?
Yes they are!
@@JupiterShoot cool thank you very much.
I like the older model better....the picatinny quad rail looks alot cooler than the mlok rails
is there a difference in barrels with the two models?

Is the spelling "ambi-dex-trious". ... or is it ambidextrous? (Kinda like how nuclear is spelled vs how so many say it "nu-cue-ler")
It’s spelled ambidextrous, and pronounced ambi-Dexter-us. Not ambi-dextree-us.
Summing up the video in four words - "old quad rail, new mlok."...ok 5 words.
