The problem with Squidward's Suicide is at the time, it was a great creepypasta. It was one of the first lost episode creepypasta, causing it to become wildly popular and started the Lost Episode trend.
People wanted the popularity Squidward's Suicide had that they copied everything that made it scary, and overused it. Over time a sea of "Hyper-realistic intestines" filled the creepypasta world, drowning Squidwards Suicide and leaving it to seem as a cliche.
That's sad truth of what happens to all trend setters.

If you mean the changes between Spongebob and real murders it's highly suggested that the killer used parts of his victims in the film.
What I mean is when he suddenly goes from telling it from a past perspective to a present perspective, which if you read it happens all the time

Fun Fact: Although not related to the creepypasta, an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants did actually feature a suicide joke revolving around Squidward. In the episode _Are You Happy Now?_, Squidward throws a loop of rope over an off-screen rafter during a sequence where he decides that he can never be happy. He tugs on the rope, revealing it to actually be attached to a birdcage.

The thing though with squidwards suicide is that it's not creepy but sad and dark. We all know how hard Squidward's life is and that everything's shit and he's basically depressed. It's twisted yes but not scary. The backstory of the episode could be seen relatable to a lot of people surprisingly and that's what's so sad.
