The narrator is in some sort of limbo between the dead and the living after crashing his car. The clues are obvious as he feels no pain despite being walking wounded and experiences weird visions. The employees of the Solomart are trying to coax the narrator to move onto the afterlife hence why the narrator recognises them but can’t quite understand why. In the end Jane (disguised crudely as the narrators mom who we establish is dead) says “it’s better this way”. It’s a final attempt to get him to enter the void/afterlife. The shadow people protect the narrator when he chooses to live and carry on hence why they help him leave the Solomart. In the end the narrator cancels the call and decides to drive out of town to start his new life. The story didn’t really make much sense but that’s what I got from it. Pretty trippy.
I took the ending as a way for the narrator to come to terms with asking for help when they needed it. that it wasnt as scary as they thought it would be, seeing as how they eventually sought help from the unknown shadow people and further when they called a friend to ask for help at the end, which they refused to do previously.
@@JimmmyRaynor Oh I see you haven't listened to the manor stories yet! Those are a doozy. If you thought he had it bad back then in the storm, it gets worse. Mind if someone could explain the story?? The whole time I was listening, I assume he died from the car crash and that all of this was happening from his subconscious of wanting to be independent and not wanting any help. In the end, he admitted to needing help and called out hence why he was saved. I'm really bugged at how he cancelled his dad's call though, I assume that the shadow guiding him in the end was connected to his dad since he's the only parent and the one the narrator wanted to prove independence to the most. This is just what I got though?
Only 5 minutes in and I already have seen enough paranormal shows to know where this is heading. He died in that car and doesn't realize it. People he feels like he knows even though he is sure he never met them before, a supermarket appearing out if nowhere, his bump that isn't bruising or painful despite how hard he slammed. Yeah. He ghost.
Loved the friendly entity that helped him to his feet then sent him on his way with a thumbs up, that's some hospitality right there lol
