I think the 6th gens look awesome, I really love them, but I just bought a 2024 4Runner because I wanted the proven V6 engine and 5 speed transmission. Given the problems Toyota is having with the new V6 turbo in the Tundra, I think I made a good choice. I'll give the 6th gen a few years to iron and the bugs and reconsider then.
Delighted Can not wait for dealership arrival this fall I have very very high expectations on 2025 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Was delighted to see the reveal on 04.09. Thank you ALL for all the efforts that were put into 2025 TOYOTA 4RUNNER. Impatiently waiting 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is the height interior wise lower than the previous gen? It’s seems lower in roofline which worries me about interior cargo volume or sleeping in it with a bed platform.
What he meant to say about there is 2 different customers for the 4runner and the Landcruiser. There is a construction or warehouse guy and there in an office or desk worker guy. I don't like turbos, so I don't like neither. It doesn't look 4runner to me, it's all Tacoma. The rear door handle bothers me being higher lol, Also, the wrap around glass I would worry it will break loading the roof racks. I think they should have just kept the old one and put more aluminum in it to lighten it up. And way too much money for sure.
The aluminum refresh actually sounds like a really great idea! It would also keep the cost down versus this all new generation. The aluminum body on the ford trucks make them feel so nimble! I don’t really like driving big vehicles but those ford F150s are fun to whip around
I used to like the 4Runner for its build quality and reliability, not its looks. Think of the outdoors. The front end is designed to trap mud, bugs, snow, and dirt. That 'cool' hood scoop, if it is functional, will channel rain water and dirt into the engine compartment. Better those wheel wells will go out of fashion soon. Next time, just have the designers sit and stare at the Range Rover for a few hours until they get the hint.
I hated the 5th Gen. when it first came out. Now I have a built-out 2020 Off Road as my mid-life luxury project. I’ll have it for the rest of my life. That said, I already like the 6th more than I did the 5th. I’m going to give it a fair shake and see how it performs before passing judgement.
Let's be perfectly honest. It's not interesting. It's not a head turner, even if it is your first time seeing it. People outside of "our circle" will not Even know you have a new car. If any of that matters to someone, they should take that into consideration. I own a 4th Gen and would be considered a Toyota enthusiast in a small way, and even I'm kinda blah about this redesign despite all my anticipation over the last few years.
Not a fan of the drivetrain which is a overly complicated disaster IMHO. Interior design a miss. Flat screen TV glued to the dash is lame. Running boards are a nice design though. Had to find at least one positive thing...
I would expect so. Not just the engine, but Toyota exchanged a five-speed automatic for an eight-speed automatic. That's a big difference as well. Here's my review of the old one, if you're at all curious: ruclips.net/video/Ca_8O4bf1qU/видео.htmlsi=qXlqlLUscxizre0Y
Bringing back rear glass was a bold move - do not like it personally. Gloss fender flairs are tacky For those saying it looks too much like Tacoma- it’s supposed to. I have no problem with that
@@sierraenvy im just messing around, its better u keep your v6, but this new redesign one is going to be 70k for a god damm 4runner and many of us will not pocket that amount of money
I know it's been bullet proof but who cares when your dumping $85 a week just running errands around town. Take one on a two hour trip to the trail head and you better budget an extra $160 for gas. 4Runner is the greatest truck on the planet. If you drive less than 4K a year.
v4 and "tough". What a joke. Electronic time bomb our vehicles have become. I am buying the 5th gen regardless of the dinosaur tech. Reliability still matters to some of us. Everyone concentrating on the looks - it matters - but the engine does too. Wait - did I just hear them say - in my own words - that the 4Runner are for the kiddos and the Land Cruiser is for the older adventurer? Basically what I'm hearing is people later in life with more disposable income can buy the Cruiser. The joke is that all of it is expensive. They may find that this niche they're thinking about has collapsed from under recent economic changes.
I'm not a fan of EVs but Tesla is going in for the kill. Soon there won't be any choice because Tesla will be the only car company. They are quietly putting their Optimus robots doing human jobs at Tesla. Think about it, soon Tesla will have no employee cost. They will undercut massively the other car companies. I think they will not sell their robots till the bring down all other car companies. Toyota better start cutting costs.
Toyota unfortuanately been having way too many problems with their new designs. Id love to get a new 4runner but definitely wont be now. People really need to give it a couple years now to allow for the issues to be resolved.
I think Toyota designed the LC250 to be the next 4runner and then saw how nice it looked and thought they could market it as something above a 4R. This 6th gen 4R seems very rushed in it's design like someone said 2 years ago, quick, we need a different 4R so they borrowed most of the Tacoma and spit this out. Anyway the colour is the only good thing about this vehicle. Everything else is fugly. The vehicle is too big IMO to be a 4R, the engine choice is crap and the hybrid option ruins the cargo area.
@@averagecommentguy Yes, the Prado but that is not sold in the US. Selling it as a 4Runner makes sense. This 6th gen 4R is too close to a Tacoma and ugly as sin to sell well. The upcoming redesigned Fortuner would fit into the NA market as a better 4R than this taco runner. Time will tell...
Peet peeve comparing outgoing LC with the new one. You act like the 300 doesn’t exist and that this isn’t something completely new to the America market. Look at the previous world market Prado and then state how You like the new design and that the Prado is finally coming to the states.
Get rid of the push button garbage and go back to turn key, roll up windows, front and rear locking diff, complete under armor NoT plastic, snorkel and wench. Basically a 79 series. COME ON MAN
Everything looks good except the front end. They concentrate too much on aggressively and forget about designing it to look nice at the front end. There are too many levels at the front. It would be nice if everything was on one level.
Also I'd rather see a Japanese guy had designed the truck too ha. I think they know what they are doing more. It's probable why the rear door handle is crooked because this guy helped, probably his idea. ha just kidding.
This is designed to " look cool". Smaller backseat WAAY more complicated engine bay ( just look at it). No flat folding seats Entirely new drivetrain. 4-cylinder that can't pull its weight without assistance from turbo + electric motors. Overall, mote complicated and less ergonomic just to increase mpg by 2 or 3 points. I bought a 2024 instead of waiting.
You can thank TNGA for that. They're making all of the vehicles homogenous at the cost of individual car personality. Congrats to Toyota - parts and production is easier. Let's see if consumers agree with that decision when they start seeing the same vehicle with 4Runner and Land Cruiser an Tacos side by side.
Most people are complaining about how expensive is the, and I am going to repeat inline 4 Cylinder ( for the ones that keep calling these A V4) Toyota Tacoma made in Mexico, how much more will it be for the new 4Runner made in Japan with the same 4 banger. Oh the mark ups, 😅 good luck to you and to the stupids that are going to pay for those mark ups.
The front end and interior is 100% 4th gen Tacoma. This has zero character in appearance, and I can only imagine the driving experience will be similar.
@@UncleBurboneven with all the problems with the new Tacoma and Tundra? You’re out of your mind. Toyota has completely lost the plot. 5th gen is the last of the great Toyotas

It looks fine to me. Can't wait to see up close! 4RUNNER 4 Life!!😅😅
I think that the 4cyl turbo or hybrid with no v6 option will hurt sales no matter how much the body changed.

How many think this truck will end up being $60 to $65 thousand dollars or above after dealer markups?
This feels like art more than designed for off-roading by folks that know off-roading.

People don't like car dealerships; they should think about selling direct to the customer,
So all the body upgrade and engin down grade, that’s why all they talked about is body this and that
