With homeless we got a good programs with shelters and all system which support them from Police to social workers.
Second reasons is that we have strong family bond. It is rare to not help your own, to trow them on the streets.
Of course we have homeless as any country but the visilibity is really small, especially compare to 90thies.

If one want to compare prices (ex. transportation, food etc.), should compare income too. 1$ for Brits is amazingly cheap, but minimal hour income is 10,3GBP/hour in UK and 5,6/h in Poland. BTW it always ashamed me a little bit if tourist from rich countries assumes: "WOW how cheap is here! I'm in heaven"

3:13 dont convert money like that cause power of monetary value is diffirent in every country. If he pay 4 pln for transport i bet u can buy ticked in uk for 4 pounds, and then all new tech electronics are 4x expenive as in the countries in euro zone dollar or pound, Considering minimum salary 3200 pln which is also slightly below most common salary, it is 637 pounds per month in country with inflation around 30-35% with extremly expensive food even if u convernt pln to pounds food is still cheaper in UK, but ofcourse due to conversion cost of living is reativly cheaper, but for common people its expensive specialy in big to medium sizes cities.

Tbh. being a safer country than the US is not a big achievement now.
The US really needs to do something about its treatment of gun rights.
IMO it is also/mainly a result of insufficient social security (universal health insurance and similar things).
As a result, everyone fights for survival, sometimes brutally and breaking the rules.

I guess most European countries were and are safer than the USA. And Poland for sure! There are no districts in Polish cities that you can't walk through during the day, and if you try, there is a 90% chance you will be beaten or skidded. I have friends in the USA who told me that the first thing you should know when visiting a big city is what areas you should not go to at any time of day or night, and under no circumstances. Gangs, racist beatings, simple banditry, including frequent shootings... you simply won't see it here (except in American films, of course).
