    Hi ! Thank you very much for your feed back on this lens.
    I would like to buy it for astrophoto (as mentioned at 19:19 ). Do you have a place where you can see astro photos taken with this lens? Flicker or something else? Because it is difficult to realize how wide this represents on an open sky

    I have the 11mm, you can see in my latest videos, and I don’t see it sharp. I don’t know why but it look blurry. Any hack or idea why it is not sharp?

    • @jccreative6681
      @jccreative6681  Год назад

      Hi! I’m not sure which video you are referring to but the one I watched seemed pretty sharp. That said, I don’t watch anything in 4K so maybe that’s why? Some possibilities: 1) Defect in your particular copy, 2) lens design, 3) a6x00 series cameras have pretty soft 1080p compared to 4K, 4) low shutter speed resulting in subject motion blur, which happens when using 180 degree shutter angle in video, 5) use of filters. Just some thoughts. I’ll be posting a video soon of photos shot using the 11mm. Maybe you can compare with your copy? All the best!

    Hi
    Thanks for great video and information you have provided us as usual, I bought this lens (brand new) and when I use it on Sony ZV E10 it keeps focus changing from my face and background (I use ND filter and lowest aperture), it happens even when I use it with zhiyun crane 3 sitting or walking and doing vlog, it changes between my face and background , I select wide focus range, continues AF and have product show case off, It never happens with my sigma 16mm f1.4.
    Thanks for your help in advance 🙏

      I can’t say I’ve ever experienced focus problems with my a6400, which is older. However, with the a6400, if I’m in 4k and wifi on the camera is on, face detection turns off whenever I start recording. It’s a known bug with the camera. Not sure if that’s what’s going on with your ZV-E10

    Interesting. Did not try that. They do have the selfie timer mode. I did re-assign mine to record in movie mode. I was happy with a Sigma 16 f/1.4 milkyway shot in potrait mode I took.

    • @jccreative6681
      @jccreative6681  Год назад

      The problem with the selfie timer is that it locks focus when you hit the shutter button, so when you reach back out with the camera, it’s a bit out of focus. I have the IR remote, but who wants to carry that around in case you want a selfie? As the the Milky Way, you’ll find that most people go wider than 16 mm on APSC

    Hello! I will recive tomorrow Sony ZV E10 and the 11 mm lens. Can i use ND filters without vignetting on this wide angle? Do i need a bigger filter with a step up ring? Thanks!

    • @jccreative6681
      @jccreative6681  Год назад +1

      Hi sorry for the delayed response but I had to test this. I’d say you’re almost certainly going to get some vignetting using ND filters on wide lenses in general. The light going to the edges of the frame travels through more of the ND filter glass than light going directly through the center. I don’t think it matters whether you step it up; for what it’s worth, I used a step up ring for my test and I did see vignetting. Maybe there are specialized ND filters for wide lenses but I only own some pretty average ones. I think the proper way to ND wide lenses and completely avoid vignetting would be to use filters that drop in between the rear element and the sensor. These do exist but you might need to a search and some customization yourself. Cheers!

    Hello JC! Should I get this 11mm or 15mm apsc lens as a main lens for film making? I will be mainly shooting other people and doing short docs. Will be using sony fx30. Thank you

      @jccreative6681  Год назад +1

      Haha it’s hard to say without knowing your style but my guess is 15mm will be more versatile. With the 11mm, you’ll have to be very close to your subjects. For a couple of my projects, I actually ended up going with 35 mm f1.8. Cheers!

      I shoot people and do small kind of videos , like music videos and stuff , and I’m buying the Sony 15mm and Sony 35 1.8 oss , because I think having a 24 and nifty 50 full frame equivalents are great for fast primes ! I also have the 18-50 sigma for my fx30

      @@Tonellacam thanks man! I am also considering the sigma 18-50 it seems to be a very popular with fx30. Is the. 15mm & 18-50 ideal fits for fx30 or should I just stick to one of them?

      @@lcollet4530 I’m definitely not like a season vet or anything , everyone is different , I got the 18-50 first and it kind of showed me what I like filming , I was always using the 18 which I wished was wider and the I like that 35 range , so that’s why I’m getting the primes , I think they are essential for low light especially with the fx30
