Wechnique Wednesday!!
I notice the same reposition people do before spin techniques 😂 i'm gonna say "spin" next time and see how they react haha
Add @Sensei Seth to UFC 4 immediately!!

Wonder boy Wednesday
Hey man, it's not my place... A lot of us fans wanna say it tho. Your probably the best striker in the UFC, but your not Angry. Throw that side kick to the knee, be a John Jones! Get Pissed before your too old and lose your Shot! You Could Be Champion of The World!!! Let's Gooo!
This is sort of like Sesame Street for "How to Fight."
"Can YOU spot the telegraph?"
😅
Real tip. Also learn to relax your shoulders when the punch launches. Stiffness will slow you and is also a tell!
Indeed. That can also be clearly seen in that Jai White clip; his fast jabs showed tension in his shoulder, which could easily be read, but his slow jab was so relaxed the average fighter's brain wouldn't register it as a threat and thus wouldn't react accordingly. It's likely why the Diaz bros were so successful with their half-speed/half-power strikes.
Your still supposed to tense the shoulder muscle as it lands though right?
@@Whosyourdaddy21 Supposedly but in my experience that's not what you should be focusing on, since the rest is much harder to get right.
Relaxing the shoulder, not giving tells and having good joint alignment (notably on the wrist) is all much more important to work on.
Definitely will keep an eagle eye out for the telegraphs when watching fights next time! IMO, Sensei Seth is losing weight! Don't mess with Seth or he'll give you the Slim Surprise!😂
He can’t too much, he will lose the chubby surprise!!
The slim surprise will be the one to overcome human limits
Wonderboy is so generous, giving you all the tricks to beat him.
And we still won't lol
@@polishheavies8205 The only way I can stop Wonderboy is with a gun, even then... i'm sure he will see me telegraphing my move.
@@polishheavies8205 depends how good you are in grappling :p
@@MrLampes Thanks for the tip master 😉

I actually feel privileged to be taught by someone like wonderboy, ive been a big fan for years now. This feels really one on one. Can tell he's been a teacher forever.
Not telegraphing is so underrated, even some professional fighters miss it.
when your body started to get tired, you will start to telegraph even if you know you should not telegraph. Habits need time to be built.
I love whenever you give Sweet T the day off and make a video with his stunt double instead.
Gotta minimize the telegraphic motions and disguise them! Time to keep on polishing! 🔥🔥🔥
Easily one of the better tutorials and lessons on lessening or eliminating telegraphic movement. I loved it, thanks for the video!
So true ! This is more important then speed and power itself ! :)
A good example is The Korean Zombie. In his fight against Yair, instead of pulling back in his jabs. He is straight forward with his jab. Making it harder for his opponents to read it.
Woooah makes so much sense 👏 👌. Thank you Sensei WB!
These videos are so valuable, thank you! 🙏
1:00 tele
4:20 slow fast /becz no tel
5:10 cover kicks
6:10 when spin tel ..
6:25 basics /develop from ground up
Love the vids Wonderboy, keep it up!!!
Great teaching! Like the start with the basics 👍. Thank you
Nice! Thank you Stephen and Seth.
The NMF champion himself, Wonderboy!
Thank you master Stephen lol I'm going to practice this in front of the mirror
Another W video from Wonderboy, could use this for my Muay Thai class, thanks
love this video. Teaching it to my boy.
Ya. I work hard on them basics. I'll try to look and see if I'm telegraphing
Appreciate the video I learned a lot🙏🏾
Thanks for the tips sir !
More Seth more Seth more Seth! Great vid guys 👍
Keep going Steph. One day the algorithm will bless you
So good. I gotta work on this for sure.
Thanks for this tip man.
Awesome delivery.
Great tips! Thankyou sir+
Somehow before I even clicked, I had a feeling in my gut that this would be covering the technique that Michael Jai White taught Kimbo Slice- I've always wondered just how relevant that is to striking, and it's good to hear you confirm its importance, and how often overlooked it is!
Totes. I was lucky enough to have instructors that hammered this into us. Setup, strike, setup again. I feel that karate is sort of unique in terms of making this a part of the philosophy itself.
Love this videos like this and fight recaps
Pure Gold here WB ✊🥋!!
I was able to hit the like button without telegraphing!
😂🙏
Solid advice.
Nothing is as unforgiving as slo-mo recording yourself for techniques. Great way to improve.
Hiding tells with a single strike is difficult. Something that will cloak telegraphing is the conditioning of response. Which you do quite well with your head kicks.
Stephen Thompson is fun to watch and fun to watch.
MJW covered it but you showed how to practice non-telegraphed techniques. Super cool!
As a Dutch guy kickboxing this channel really helped me improve my lead leg. I actually hit people with side kicks now in sparring. I can't find a video how to sidekick higher. Any recommendations? Thanks allot.
Another telling telegraph that a kick is coming is the drop of the front hand. As soon as you see that hand drop, close the distance and smother the kick. It's all in the timing...
Having your hands down allows you to have better control of your centre and lower, which is why a lot of people unconsciously do this.
This is what we want not only techniques!
At 4:02 I seriously thought the video was slowed down to slow motion 😂 Wonderboy part of the matrix 🔥
I love when you guys colab
Great video
Hello. Before an kick attack, it is better to start with punches combination.
Truth 100.
now i know why my football/soccer low kick is so efffective no steps just full speed where i want to hit. no body spin in it just hit above the knie
Wonderboy is the real jedi master
Hey brother Love the channel but I was wondering if you could help Houston Jones by making videos for him as you may know he broke his arm. Thank you and keep kick butt brother
I love the intro I never skip it lol
Look at him in the eyes. Eyes are also great telegraphers.
2:28 3rd picture is Sweet T, I am positive. 😄
yo stephen, you and your dad remind me of the movie "Karate Tiger" :)
Hey WB, your Upstate Karate shirts and apparel are sicks. I was wondering if your businnes was growing so you can start selling your products on Amazon. I've been on your e-shop and man, international shipping cost is higher than the price of tee shirt. I'd like to get one of those. Thank you and keep on the good work on social medias.
Until we meet again Wondeboy!
Hey. I'm curious about a more in depth explanation of how to set up spinning strikes. I feel like there is no way around making that initial step in order to bring my hip over to make the turn. I try to disguise it with jab feints or backhands but in most cases I still miss the spin kick I'm going for. Thanks for the great content!
Try sparring more sideways (all the time) or fake a back leg round kick then touch it down in line with your front foot so there's the bladed stance & then spin. Most people think its just a faulty rechamber. MVP does this sometimes. He's got some highlight KO's from this I think.
i reckon "Chubby surprise" is a move that even if it doesn't hit me in a fight, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna die laughing when i see a guy attempting it :)))
Are those bags available for purchase?
Yeah.. I already knew all of that [Napolean Dynamite voice]
I like shadow boxing in front of a mirror. It really works out the kinks because you can see the telegraph instantly without having to stop & watch the recording. The only problem is that my power hasn't increased (despite putting on size) since there's no recoil off the bag I usually don't tense fully unless I'm super focused. I guess the mirror & bag should go hand in hand (but that balance is hard because most people don't have a bag at home but almost everyone has a mirror... Even if you have to train in the bathroom 😂 ;)
Technique to improve universal leadleg chamber ? The karate chamber is really difficult to learn as a kickboxer. Anyone recommendations please link me.
nice
Agree Seth looking lean lately!
On the flip side, couldn't you also use your telegraph to fent your opponent into a block attempt so you can then sweep or grapple them?
I mean... yeah... that's pretty much exactly what a feint is lol
Now I get why that guy threw those first two punches at kimbo is so he can no the reaction that kimbo was going to do so that's why he can throw us slow punch and still hit his hand. I guess that's why they throw so many faints in the octagon.
There's got to be a better phrasing than "Maybe that's why you're not hitting your partners". The modifier 'sparring' really helps it not sound like the prequel to an episode of COPS.
Michael Jai White TRICKED Kimbo Slice - he tracked his hand to the destination
I like how your form is still good even tho your demonstrating bad technique
Wonder boy I know he’s a lot bigger but how do you think you match up against izzy. And do you ever see yourself challenging him at middleweight before you retire
Ah I get it now I'm seeing ways to use that as an advantage
I think the best kicker who never telegraphed his kicks was Dennis Siver watch his kicks he can spin and kick you or anything and it was so fast and you had no clue it was coming so you would always watch his hands and his opponent's faces cuz you always thought he was just going to be throwing punches it's wicked and how good of a kicker he was...
And your power goes out of the window if you throw from a still position... Better learn to fake and disguise the forward steps or shoulder rotation or whatever techniques gives you the powerful ko shot
Can I use a mirror? Only have a bag In the gym unfortunately 😕
WB is an awesome coach! 👊
I wish i didn’t live 10000 miles away :(
What is the difference of telegraph and feigning.
Stephen Wonderboy aka NMF:
Hit your partner
Hit your partner
Hit your partner
Stop what you are doing in training right now.
Actual quotes from this video.
I imagine it as my fist being pulled towards the target, instead of me pushing it.
I was going to hit the like button, but it was telegraphed....
Hi
This something I learned from a JKA karate sensei called Tatsuya Naka
This man just did an ad for Stihl without realizing it.
My big tell was screaming my anime attack's name before launching it
After joining a boxing gym I learned that it's probably best not to yell out the name of the technique you are about to unleash
So now I yell out a technique name, and then use an entirely different attack instead. 100+ deception stat Sun Tzu Art of War
SPIN....SPIN...
Seth's entrance, haha.
Hey Wonderboy, got a question for you.
In traditional Muay Thai, one is taught to always step prior to launching the kick. Here are three examples, including the legendary Orono and Sam-A.
ruclips.net/video/VT7e0FSwQsI/видео.html
How does this relate to the problem of telegraphing? In your view, is this a telegraph? If so, why is this so prevalent in Muay Thai, and why doesn't it seem to present a big problem for them? Or maybe it is a problem?
If it's not a telegraph, why doesn't it count as a telegraph?
This has been in my mind for some time now, actually, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to ask a real pro what his thoughts are.
Thank you for the super awesome content, as always.
Thais get blasted for throwing naked kicks in kickboxing all the time. They just kick so hard and have monster chins so they don't care. Look up the Kyokushin or dutch low kick. Almost no telegraph and they can even combo into punches from that kick. There's also the hoost style mega powerful, mega telegraphed low kick that you can hide the telegraphs with punches. Good luck in training, osu!
It's definitely a telegraph they just kick so fast and hard that they can still land it. And they use it as a feint constantly too so you never know if it's actually coming
@@markmessi9020 bro thai fighters are fuckin insane their kicks are like lightning and they eat elbows for breakfast 🤣
So… stand still and practice all punches/kicks until you can do them without moving anything beside what you absolutely need for that technique?
And then do it in sparring..
I feel like you have done this before..... but about kicks
Piston punches like master Bruce Lee likes
"So there you have it guys." SWB sounds like Jerry Miculek. "Just raise the pistol to your dominant eye and make the shot happen. There you have it guys." Which, it's all pretty much the same. You just go.
teach us how to not get taken down by gilbert burns
Is the mistake you're pointing out only a concern in a sport context, or would you recommend avoiding telegraphing in a self defense situation too?
Yes even the average person is capable of noticing telegraphs try not to do it at all in any situation the inly acceptable situation is if you have someone hurt and you wanna wind up for a big punch even pros do that but only if the person is hurt and it doesn’t matter at that point.
@@tylerlynch2796 In a self defense situation the goal is to survive at all costs. As the victim, your reation to being attacked is impossible to telegraph because you don't have the time to set up your attack with any extra movement. If you do then you're the attacker. Telegraphing is only a concern in a sport context. It was a trick question that I hoped Wonderboy would answer in a way that saw through the trap. You didn’t.
@@I_love_burnt_toast 😭😭 telegraphing still go’s wrong irl. On the streets you’re less likely to find someone trained who will see thru it but it still matters in a self defense situation. There’s 2 guys who fought one was a boxer who was provoked to a fight by a non martial artist, the non martial artist threw a super telegraphed punch and the boxer rolled and ko’d him stiff dont telegraph
@@tylerlynch2796 that's a street fight, not a self defense situation. No victims, only attackers. Both were in the wrong to choose to fight.
Again, you missed the point of the question. And, again, it wasn't directed at you. I don't know how to be more clear on both those points, than I already have been.
I had a nickname that I was given by my old karate teacher because I could hit someone even if they knew it was coming... My teacher hated sparring w/ me because I'd hit in weird places. Some of my favorites were under the elbow in the ribs or a jab in the diaphragm or I'd punch in the inner thighs, I was smaller than everyone so I needed an intimidating factor when fighting.... He quickly moved me into adults class because almost everyone was going to quit the kids classes, then he realized that was probably a mistake too because now I was doing that to all the adults. LMAO
thnx for this vid. grandma didnt stand a chance
false tells must be insanity
What’s up everybody everybody. Uhh
master of disaster
Get a dog that doesn't like to have its nose tapped and try to tap its nose by having to extend as you would with a jab. Most dogs you aren't touching if you have any telegraph. It's also fun for both you and the pupper.
