- There have been some crazy powerful Pokémon throughout Pokémon history especially in Pokémon Emerald Elite Redux but nothing can compare to Primal Cascoon. Learning only 7 moves I will be going over how it's ability Angel's wrath effects them, where to find the purple orb and how to get primal cascoon for yourself. As someone who has never heard of any of this, this sounds like peak satire of Pokemon itself.
Agreed, this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Like, I get adding that extra layer of complexity for people who want it, but with how much EEE has added it just feel like it would be a slog to do anything. Maybe it really is for the people who love to overthink everything on smogon/showdown?
This definitely sounds like one of those memes where it goes like "it's 20XX, its generation 90 and every pokemon has primal forms, mega primal ultra arceus is in UU and is a great counter to the top pokemon, primal cascoon, who has been banned to Super Super Ultra Ubers"

Primal Cascoon looks absolutely badass. Someone looked at Cascoon and thought, "huh, a one-eyed cocoon. I see potential. Let's take it and turn it into a 0^2-esque angel of death and destruction."

For Electroweb, it doesn't just half the opponent's speed- it reduces it by 12 stages, effectively ALWAYS reducing the foe's speed to -6 (1/4), even if they were at +6 before.

Primal Cascoon isn’t in the showdown, so there is no tell on how it does vs other players, but tbh, the moment it gets released it’s getting instantly banned to ag, alongside dewleon who IS in the showdown and just as broken as its kit suggests

Harden + Electroweb + Tackle + Bug Bite
Harden: outspeed all unboosted mons
Electroweb: max hazards
Tackle: essentially priority neutral phazing
Bug Bite: remove passive healing/heavy duty boots
I know nothing about the rest of the metagame but boy this does not sound fun or balanced

I don’t really work much on ER now, but I was one of the few devs who cooked up Primal Cascoon’s stats. Angel’s Wrath was my favorite idea I’ve ever done. Btw, you didn’t mention that every move has a power boost. Also, unless they changed it, Electroweb drops the speed stat by 12 stages. Which means even a mon at +6 will drop to -6 instantly.
Im not sure the power change is reflected anywhere so wasn't sure. I also just learned about the -12 lmao I was just going off my testing

To anyone having a hard time defeating the Primal Cascoon trainer, just use Marrowak. Dude's also broken. Just SD like once or twice and you sweep with bonemarang. Absolutely busted mon.

@@spanoguy2283 I think regular is better. Bone rush is a strong priority move which Regular Marowak has STAB. And unlike alolan, regular has battle armor, which gives it more survivability for dancing.
This is my first exposure to this ROM hack and you describing things from "4 abilities on a single Pokemon" to the absurdity of this Pokemon, makes this mod feel like one giant fever dream.
Yeah it's awesome. Furret is broken, cincinno is good, vikavolt is actually fast, and other crazy stuff. I started playing this ROM hack because megafidough broke it down a lot

Worth pointing put that increasing your defence by 2 stages and reducing your opponent's attack by 1 is not the same as raising your defence 3 stages.
3 stage defence boost: 2.5x defence. When they would normally deal 100 damage, you take 40.
2 stage defence boost 1 stage attack drop: 2x defence, 0.67x attack. When they would normally deal 100 damage, they deal 67 and you take 34.
If you boost twice, a 3-stage change brings you up to 4x, which means you take 25 damage from an attack that would normally deal 100 damage.
However, if you boost twice with a 2-defence 1-attack change, you are brought up to 3x and your opponent down to 0.5x. An attack which would normally do 100 damage would be halved to fifty by their attack drop, and then reduced even further to 17.
In other words, upon a boost the defence buff/attack debuff system reduces damage by an additional 6% compared to the solely defence focussed one (with a Primal Cascoon having the better one taking 17% damage less per hit than it would with the worse one). The effect is even stronger for the two-stage boost, with an 8% additional resistence value, corresponding to a Primal Cascoon with the better version taking a massive 40% less per attack it is hit with than it would with the worse version.
Tl;dr, i did the maths and its even more insane than a 3-stage boost.

My fav Pokemon is Silcoon. I hope there is a Primal Silcoon with Eternamax stats with Adaptability, Magic Guard, Moxie, and Huge Power and a move with 250 base power that is a guaranteed crit + super effective damage no matter what

This whole game feels like one gigantic and elaborate shitpost, with this Pokémon the top of this insane mess of a game, absolutely love it. Good video.
As someone who's interest in pokemon comes almost entirely from the collecting part seeing people go this far to try and make it more complex is always hilarious
What's crazier is Angel's Wrath can roll on different pokemon when you randomize the game. Granted you have to also randomly get 1 or more of the 7 moves affected by Angel's Wrath for it to help. But if you do, it's insane. I was extraordinarily lucky and landed myself a Necrozma with not only Angel's Wrath with String shot and Harden to take advantage of it, but also the exclusive ability of Dewleon, Prismatic Fur, which combines the effects of Color Change, Protean, Fur Coat, and Ice Scales. All before even hitting the midgame.

Its not just haxorus. Sometimes those mega fights don't give up the stone. I had to use backup saves to get video for mega gyarados Y and Mega Sandslash

It's a really fun rom hack. The quality of life and unique moves and abilities make it so fun to use all Pokémon. It definitely can be difficult at times but it's a fun challenge. But if these videos are enough for you that's fine too lol

Whenever Elite Redux ever gets brought up, I never fail to bring up the fact I was a beta tester for the mod, and also mention why I am the sole reason that Wishiwashi had more that just Swift Swim for an ability (it has 30 speed and until like the 0.8/0.9 update, it only had swift swim and I ended making a huge thread about why it should get other things like Hyper Aggressive)

Primal Cascoon is truly broken. But can we also talk about the dewgong+ the chameleon(forgot his name) thingy who's got prismatic fur(stab on all moves, has no weaknesses, has 7 or above immunity, 50% dmg reduction on both physical and special moves)

This is why I love hackrooms like radical red, renegade platinum or blazing white, that are so tame on they reproach of "making this game harder", but without had played this room it kinda seems like this monstruocity is more likely a build-in easy mode, something you can use to cheesy the game if your are just bored of keep losing and losing

And yet in terms of theoreticals, this Pokémon ISN'T the maximum level of broken-ness. There's one thing holding it back- Adaptability and Color Change do not mesh well, so a better ability would be Technician instead of Adaptability. Unless STAB isn't affected by Color Change.

Ill be honest I fought this unprepared but my Mega Aggron got out of the fight unscathed. When I won and got it as a prize I never really bothered using it as Mega Aggron is more busted than any sweeper in that game
