I can relate. I have to be alone. There's almost nobody (human friend) that I can "cry to" that is, that they would let me "cry on their shoulder" (so to speak). I "cried to" one about 4 or so years ago, then I found out this person was uncomfortable because my voice is different when I'm "emotional". So after that, I didn't bother "crying to" the person anymore. It hurt really badly, because I considered the person one of my close friends; and now it doesn't seem that way. The worse part is the distance that I feel emotionally now when before I felt we were close friends. Now I don't go to him with my problems like I did once in a while before I found that out. (sorry if I'm not expressing myself well enough on here - I know there's something wrong I just don't know what it is - either a brain problem or apasia or something else).

Thank you! I agree that those who are not afraid to do what is right no matter what are indeed very strong
But i think this video is more about those who are strong in other situations like those who have to deal with an illness or a difficult situation (which can be as you said doing the right thing despite how hard it may be)
For example my mother had cancer and the nurses told my father that she was very strong so idk exactly what made them say that but it shows that being mentally strong can have other meanings so what do you think about those?

I've got so proud while watching this video, because I find myself doing all of these things - 7 years ago almost all these signs were the complete opposite to what I did, how I felt towards myself or others and so on
This just tells me how mentally strong I've grown and I choose to spread positivity everyday now and I see it in the people I attract.
7 years ago I was a depressed, way too thin, self-cutting 16y/o girl who wanted to end her life. Now, at the age of 23, I've grown to be a strong woman finding herself in all of the things said in this video.
If I can do it, you can, too.
    DON'T GIVE UP.
    Lots of love!

Life isn't that difficult... people make it difficult. Best advice i can give to people is: 1. don't take life so serious... just do what makes you happy and don't let anyone or anybody tell you what's good for you or what isn't. as an individual everything begins and ends with you, so don't waste your time on people who don't accept who you are and what you want/need. It's such a waste of time and energy.
      2. Don't expect anything from anyone. When you live your life with expectations.. most of the time you'll be dissapointed.. when you try to let go of control, you will experience how beautiful life gets and how much more you will appreciate the efforts people make for/to you. Life is fucking amazing.. don't just look.. SEE.

I feel that the point of #1 is that you have a way to reliably release your emotional buildup on your terms. I'm really comfortable with this myself, and I only really cry if I feel emotion super intensely, and even then it's more just eye leakage. There are more ways to deal with emotions than crying, as I have learned through experience. Being a victim to your emotions building up and then exploding when it reaches max pressure is probably the opposite of 'allowing yourself to cry'. The key is that it's your choice.

I was bullied for 5 1/2 years for being American, then later on I finally accepted myself for being both English and American in life and that I don’t care of what people say about my race or anything. I’m 13 y/o and I’ve finally accepted myself to be happy of who I am 😌. When I was younger I wished countless of times that it was a mistake for me to be born and to be an American, but over the years I learned something that no one can’t force at all, acception. Whether you’re not accepted in something or not, others accept you more than you think.

For somebody who's dealt with depression since the age of 11, I learned a lot about being a strong minded person and learning to be confident with myself rather than being a constant toxic relationship with my own thoughts and actions.
I'm still struggling to this day, but I learned to be grateful about what's around me and to continue helping myself rather than rely on others. It made me independent and self disciplined. I tried the advice Dear Evan Hansen gave me where you needed to ask for help and reach out, but inevitably I realized that nobody gives a crap about your problems and insecurities because they're dealing with their own inner demons, so I eventually ended up developing a fear of opening up to people, but the fear benefited a lot. Your advice on avoiding to be codependant on people is confirmation that I'm doing the right thing by picking myself off the ground rather than waiting for somebody.
I'm more self confident thanks to helping myself rather than pushing myself into even deeper into depression. I compliment myself. I tell myself how proud I am for entering National Honor's Society, or for getting 13th place in Cross Country. It's not much because I'm terrible at so many things, but usually if it's better than what I usually do and I actually put commitment and tried, then I'll give myself a pat on my back. I'll say, "you did it. This may be your only accomplishment you'll ever get, but at least you got one. And that's what matters. You reached your limit, and maybe you can push it, but if not, then it's okay!" Negative aspect is that it made me uncompetitive. My teammates during cross country tell me to pass the person in front of me, but I mentally block them out because winning doesn't matter to me. As long as I do better than last time, then I'm content. And having supportive people helps a ton. My team mates are always cheering for me. They're never disappointed, and congratulate me for doing my best. It may have no been as good as other days, but they're proud of me for completing the course with my full potential without wavering, and they show it. I live for supportive people 👌 But I don't rely on it too much because there will be times where I'm on my own, such as a track meet because rip, I'm not good enough for relay, but if I beat my time then I'm celebrating on my own at the end of the day, because for some reason everybody in track favors A team so B team kind of gets pushed to the back, ignored by the coach and everyone else, so we normally support each other or stick to ourselves. But track is fun! You make a lot of acquaintances, even if they don't support you because you're terrible at running :')

Seems stupid and pointless. A weak man in a good time is doing nothing except adapting to circumstance. Nothing to do with weakness, he is simply existing in the way he should be.
Similarly, a strong man in a hard time is just doing the same as everybody else - continuing forward, it takes no extra effort to do what is required or what you must.

I am still in between two opposite mindsets, healing from the toxic one and dwelling more and more in the healthy one.
I've never been toxic to others, more likely to myself, and it's easy to fall back, but consistency is key, as my best friend always says.
While I am used to be the supportive one for as long as I can remember, she found me on the edge of critical breakdown, and thanks to her undying support, I stepped away from committing the worst.
She still helps me on my way to improve and heal, and sometimes I feel like I'm not grateful enough to her.
Like, I'm not showing it enough?
I just don't know how to return the favor, she never seemed like she needed any help...
So I try to prevent her from doing the same mistakes I did, to make sure she won't fall in the same traps than I did, thus never need as much help as I once needed.
I don't know any other way to be a true friend, let alone the friend she deserves.
Accepting help also IS a sign of mental strength. Not completely relying on it, but really accepting it.
