I was bullied for 5 1/2 years for being American, then later on I finally accepted myself for being both English and American in life and that I don’t care of what people say about my race or anything. I’m 13 y/o and I’ve finally accepted myself to be happy of who I am 😌. When I was younger I wished countless of times that it was a mistake for me to be born and to be an American, but over the years I learned something that no one can’t force at all, acception. Whether you’re not accepted in something or not, others accept you more than you think. I’m mentally strong and I’m proud of who I am and where I am in life 😌

For somebody who's dealt with depression since the age of 11, I learned a lot about being a strong minded person and learning to be confident with myself rather than being a constant toxic relationship with my own thoughts and actions. I'm still struggling to this day, but I learned to be grateful about what's around me and to continue helping myself rather than rely on others. It made me independent and self disciplined. I tried the advice Dear Evan Hansen gave me where you needed to ask for help and reach out, but inevitably I realized that nobody gives a crap about your problems and insecurities because they're dealing with their own inner demons, so I eventually ended up developing a fear of opening up to people, but the fear benefited a lot. Your advice on avoiding to be codependant on people is confirmation that I'm doing the right thing by picking myself off the ground rather than waiting for somebody. I'm more self confident thanks to helping myself rather than pushing myself into even deeper into depression. I compliment myself. I tell myself how proud I am for entering National Honor's Society, or for getting 13th place in Cross Country. It's not much because I'm terrible at so many things, but usually if it's better than what I usually do and I actually put commitment and tried, then I'll give myself a pat on my back. I'll say, "you did it. This may be your only accomplishment you'll ever get, but at least you got one. And that's what matters. You reached your limit, and maybe you can push it, but if not, then it's okay!" Negative aspect is that it made me uncompetitive. My teammates during cross country tell me to pass the person in front of me, but I mentally block them out because winning doesn't matter to me. As long as I do better than last time, then I'm content. And having supportive people helps a ton. My team mates are always cheering for me. They're never disappointed, and congratulate me for doing my best. It may have no been as good as other days, but they're proud of me for completing the course with my full potential without wavering, and they show it. I live for supportive people 👌 But I don't rely on it too much because there will be times where I'm on my own, such as a track meet because rip, I'm not good enough for relay, but if I beat my time then I'm celebrating on my own at the end of the day, because for some reason everybody in track favors A team so B team kind of gets pushed to the back, ignored by the coach and everyone else, so we normally support each other or stick to ourselves. But track is fun! You make a lot of acquaintances, even if they don't support you because you're terrible at running :')
I've described myself weak in front of others many times, physically and mentally I cried in front of others many times, I've always tried to be kind to everyone, I've always paid attention on my money and other stuff Now I know that these actions aren't a sign of weakness, now I know I'm strong This gives me a reason to keep going, thank you a lot
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” What are your thoughts on this quote?
Seems stupid and pointless. A weak man in a good time is doing nothing except adapting to circumstance. Nothing to do with weakness, he is simply existing in the way he should be. Similarly, a strong man in a hard time is just doing the same as everybody else - continuing forward, it takes no extra effort to do what is required or what you must.
Life Progress - a community for introverts it simply means when real issues come up we lose sight of insignificant ones.adversity simply kills of the weak, leaving the strong behind.hence it appears as though men are stronger but in reality it is just that there are fewer.
So do I. I had seven out of the 10 signs, but one of the ones I didn't have was allowing myself to cry. I just can't usually, even when something hard is happening. I'm working on it too, we are in this together ♥️
I am still in between two opposite mindsets, healing from the toxic one and dwelling more and more in the healthy one. I've never been toxic to others, more likely to myself, and it's easy to fall back, but consistency is key, as my best friend always says. While I am used to be the supportive one for as long as I can remember, she found me on the edge of critical breakdown, and thanks to her undying support, I stepped away from committing the worst. She still helps me on my way to improve and heal, and sometimes I feel like I'm not grateful enough to her. Like, I'm not showing it enough? I just don't know how to return the favor, she never seemed like she needed any help... So I try to prevent her from doing the same mistakes I did, to make sure she won't fall in the same traps than I did, thus never need as much help as I once needed. I don't know any other way to be a true friend, let alone the friend she deserves. Accepting help also IS a sign of mental strength. Not completely relying on it, but really accepting it.
Self-sufficiency is the best lesson to take from this and probably the best concept to teach our teenage girls and young women, thx for the great video❤️

There is definitely a difference between being nice and being kind. This is how I determine between the two: When you’re nice, you tell people what they want to hear and go with the flow even when it is to the detriment of oneself and others. Being kind is looking out for the benefit of others and speaking truth mixed with love.
Omg, thank you for making this video. I needed this reminder as I'm facing a serious challenge in the workplace that is threatening. Sometimes it's easy to forget how far you've progressed.
@@Psych2go Very cautiously...I can't elaborate too much, but the gist of it is workplace politics manipulated by a narcissist who is borrowing power from higher authority to abuse people lower than him and commit harassment too. It's been incredibly stressful and I'm managing as best as I can, keeping myself safe while advising others.
My mom is the strongest person ever, she’s working on a Masters degree, raising two kids, worrying about her eldest Who is moved out and having a hard time, and working full-time! So yeah my mom is amazing 💙
I'm 24 now, from my mid teens to only a couple of years ago, I was in a heavy depression. There were more than a couple of factors that allowed me to break out of it, but learning to cry and using that to vent my stress and negativity was one of the biggest reasons how I'm able to deal with life when I need to. Crying is seriously misunderstood in how useful it actually is to the body and mind's health.
When I'm trying to relax, I sweep out my social media outlets. My Facebook is very toxic right now, so when I'm tired, I avoid it. I just watch some light videos like these. I had minor depression last time, but I'm recovering. Good things take time
Tqsm for this, i remember seeing a similar video a few years back when I wasn't strong at all. I would always blame my life and myself for how I've become but I did promised myself that I would change for the better. Looking back to my past, I think I've become pretty strong mentally now and I feel happier in general
@@Psych2go well I keep a commonplace book which helped me a lot in expressing myself when I'm down since I couldn't tell anyone about how I was feeling (prolly won't bother) Setting small goals to motivate me is also pretty helpful. It allow me to change for the better just so I can reward myself if I see improvements in my behavior (like judging people constantly) Most importantly, its ur own determination to actually want to change. I've seen people who keep saying how they hate their current self and wanted to change but never put it into action. Learning to love yourself is a great way to start growing in a healthy and stronger way :)

Sorry but there's a similar person who commented that already 😂
Lmao
Thank you, kind sir.

Always good to have confirmation we are strong ♥️ I believe most people are much stronger than we think. Life isn’t easy, but we find a way to navigate and thrive 🌙✨

That is extremely cool. Amazing accomplishment very glad for you.
WOW I thought I was at least mentally strong turns out I'm pathetic in every way possible 👍
Fabulous legs same XD
Recognition lol, what you feel about it is actually up to you I discovered.
It was the opposite with me. I thought I am weak af or at least a little bit strong. Turns out I have 9 out of 10. Wtf?
Strength doesn't only apply to these. You are stronger than you realize. ♥️
I dislike this comment section so much. I feel like it reflects all my internal thoughts
being honest makes you mentally strong. pulling through ANXIETY makes me strong! but depression. 😞
I've described myself weak in front of others many times, physically and mentally
I cried in front of others many times, I've always tried to be kind to everyone, I've always paid attention on my money and other stuff
Now I know that these actions aren't a sign of weakness, now I know I'm strong
This gives me a reason to keep going, thank you a lot
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” What are your thoughts on this quote?
My thoughts on it: seems like a cycle or what some would call "coming full circle". idk. Just thinking on your quote here.
Facts
It's a vicious cycle

Some times, i have all 10 signs. Most of a times, i have half of it and let myself being weak all day and night

We're glad you liked it :) And yes, don't forget to celebrate he little successes along the way! How are you coping with your challenge?
@@Psych2go Very cautiously...I can't elaborate too much, but the gist of it is workplace politics manipulated by a narcissist who is borrowing power from higher authority to abuse people lower than him and commit harassment too. It's been incredibly stressful and I'm managing as best as I can, keeping myself safe while advising others.
I am kind to others but most of them aren't😢😢😢
Such a cruel world!
I am kind to others, but I can be too shy to show my kindness to the people I'm not close with...

@@ΙωανναΜ-ω4ο thank you😘 hoping you're doing well
So not crying is weakness. Thanks for making me feel bad.
Not necessarily, it just means that you are opened to your real emotions and letting that out in a way that's possibly healthy.
@@Psych2go I don't like crying. I don't like seeing ny face.
That's so great to hear! What did you do that helped changed your mindset?
@@Psych2go well I keep a commonplace book which helped me a lot in expressing myself when I'm down since I couldn't tell anyone about how I was feeling (prolly won't bother)
Setting small goals to motivate me is also pretty helpful. It allow me to change for the better just so I can reward myself if I see improvements in my behavior (like judging people constantly)
Most importantly, its ur own determination to actually want to change. I've seen people who keep saying how they hate their current self and wanted to change but never put it into action. Learning to love yourself is a great way to start growing in a healthy and stronger way :)
I have none of these but my friends keep telling me their problems
I think whether we are strong or not, we ourselves know
Absolutely the truth.
When somebody asks why you’re broke
Me: ._. I spent it on junk food 😂
On donuts?
Psych2Go no i spent it on cookies, raw cookies,Hot Cheetos, cheesecake, and cereal XD (I forgot what cereal it was) how much dollars u wasted? 25$ with my total money 30$ AAAAAAAAAA IM FAT OKAY 😂😂😂
i literally had the opposite issue
i had money to buy myself junk food but never let myself spend it on anything fun
i managed to save 40 quid within a month by skipping school meals and running erans for mates
which as a teen impressed me :D
so now i'm tryna learn to let loose a bit with my cash
still don't get how people can impulse buy stuff.... but i was raised asain ... so ye that's probably why lol
Mental strength is a combination of conviction and experience.
Knowing yourself and your limits is the key to become mentally strong imo
